dorlomin
If England held their catches no one would be talking about declarations. You can only captain on the assumption your players execute their skills.
peasy23
Yeah, I liked the declaration move. It's a move that Cook wouldn't have made, and for me that was his big weakness as captain. You have to give credit to the West Indies, who have batted fantastically. Yep, it's not as if England were chucking pies, they bowled very well last night and for most of today. Think the percentage thing on Sky gave the Windies a 2% chance of winning before they started this innings.

Carl Cort's Hamstring
I'm so used to the Windies being crap that it's only in the last 20 minutes or so that I've felt confident that they will actually win. Jmothecat2
This has been brilliant. Best test match in England for a long time, after a pretty drab summer of cricket really.

Jmothecat2
Windies win by five wickets. Brilliant test match. Both sides looked on top at different times, a reminder of how great test cricket can be.

die hard doonhamer
A brilliant brilliant game of cricket. This is why test match cricket is the best form of the game. The ebb and flow over 5 days, it's just incredibly absorbing.
Jmothecat2
I think it's the result this summer needed tbh. There have been so many test matches recently in England where after day 1 you are fairly certain who is going to win. Great to have a match like this where it was anything but.Am I right in saying that this is the first match this summer where the team who batted first didn't win, and first where the team who lost the toss did win?

Eednud
Saw some of Sohail Tanvir's incredible 5 for 3 from his 4 overs for Guyana Amazon Warriors v Bahamas Tridents CPL game this morning. ETA: Should read Barbados not Bahamas.
Eednud
Warner and Smith out, Australia 181/4 but only need 84 to win so probably no upset result now. ETA: Handscomb out for 15 so now 187/5. If Bangladesh can get Maxwell out then they might do it.
Jmothecat2
Something I did like was how quickly Root dismissed the question about whether he regretted declaring. He basically said that if he finds himself in that sort of situation again he would declare again, and that his regret from this match was the batting in the first innings. I think that's good to hear, I had a worry that this would make Root more conservative in the future. He wants to win test matches, not avoid losing test matches, which is refreshing. There was someone on the BBC chat who said that Root's first priority as England captain is to get a draw in that match so that they wouldn't be able to lose the series. I have to say I'm personally thrilled Root doesn't share that view.

Cook was a fantastic captain but he was to conservative in those positions
Eednud
To win Bangladesh now need 1 wicket, Australia 22 runs. Cummins just hit 2 sixes in the last over and retains strike. ETA: All over and Bangladesh first ever Test victory over Australia.
