DeeTillEhDeh
I know Furlong grabs him with his right hand, but tucking the left arm and smashing with the shoulder is very questionable.Furlong is a great player but also a complete thug.
Dunning1874
This is a disaster.
same_ol_g35
I reserve the right to change my prediction about beating Japan if Hamish Watson is out for it.
DeeTillEhDeh
Anyone think it was a mistake starting with Laidlaw?
GAD
Feels now like we just need to get to half time.
GiGi
That's just an example of why the referee needs to be properly penalising Ireland coming in at the side.
Mark Connolly
How is gaining 20 yards, winning quick ball, then having your 10 drop it under no pressure "No advantage"? Especially when you go back to give a penalty that should have been the other way. Edited September 22, 2019 by Mark Connolly
GAD
I don't see how Ireland needed anymore advantage there, they gained 30 meters!
skiblue
Is it worth watching 2nd half?....big players not turned up
DeeTillEhDeh
Barnes completely misses the Irish prop going in at an angle at the scrum.
DeeTillEhDeh
There's no doubt we've been shit but it doesn't half make it hard when the ref just doesn't apply the laws consistently.
GiGi
Not worried, just the 3 tries needed against the top ranked team in the world.
Detournement
Laidlaw has no running threat, we have no one who can break the gain line close to the ruck so Ireland can rush up at will. Laidlaw's box kick at the first try was diabolical. Gilchrist and McInally have been terrible. John Barclay looks extremely old and Duncan Taylor has played well in the tight but clearly has no running threat any more.
peasy23
It never fails to amaze me how we almost always shit the bed against the Irish and Welsh. They had one huge piece of luck with the clearing kick that hit the post leading to their third try, but we have missed too many tackles, and wasted possession by forcing it too soon or leaving a player isolated. Can only hope we have a Twickenham second half performance in us.
GAD
Games not done yet, but we need something special in the second half. Can't see Ireland imploding like England, so we need to keep the ball ourselves, not try and force things, not kick it away so much and build some pressure. We need to get more bodies to the break down as well.
S7C
Laidlaw needs to come off for me. Slow ball is painful.
Mark Connolly
I'm generally overly optimistic when it comes to Scotland, so I still think a try straight after HT keeps us in it. We need to score next though, even another penalty from them kills it tbh. As I said earlier, it's not so much the mistakes as our inability to recover ours or punish theirs. Finally, can anyone confirm what Gilchrist offers other than a fetching red hat? Get Cummings on, he won't be standing off anyone.
Detournement
Finn letting Aki run into his elbow was our only highlight of the half.
GAD
Yeah, Gilchrist is pointless, offers nothing. At least Cummings has a bit if a carry on him. How we start this half is massive. Let's be honest, right now this could be worse. .
