There is genuine depth now at both pro teams, and at international level, which is great to see. Personally would have Watson and Barclay above Ritchie, but agree great strength in depth now - Bradbury as well just making the bench

Detournement
A strange Leinster team. A strong backrow and a decent 9-10 but a weak front 5 and not much in midfield. This is a definite opportunity for Edinburgh to get back in the hunt for the playoffs. At the same time Treviso are away to Connacht and Scarlets are away to Cardiff. John Barclay will be desperate to find some form but an achilles injury is one the of the worst things to come back from. Matt Scott is another player who will be thinking a strong end to the season and he'll be at the World Cup.

But is the way the 6 nations fixtures set out not a disadvantage to Scotland in terms of us having a chance at winning the thing (not that that's really a worry for now.. I know)? What I mean by that is that every time we have 3 home fixtures, Italy are one of them, which means we have two tough away games which we're likely to lose. If you were going to win the thing then you would beat Italy regardless, so the ideal fixtures are 3 home games, plus Italy and another away. If the fixtures for us every two years were Ireland (H), Italy (A), Wales (H), France (H), England (A) I have no doubt that our placing every 2 years would be much better, and it wouldn't take a major improvement to be close to winning the thing (all those are fixtures that we have won in the last 3 years, apart from England which we drew). It seems we are stuck with those fixture rotations forever more. Is this ever something that is mentioned or raised as an issue? Not saying it's just Scotland either, might be other nations who have a similar issue. Leaving Italy aside, the pattern is 'easy years' when we have France and England at home and 'hard years' when we have to play away to these teams. My guess would be that we were 5 nations champions more often when the year ended in an even number. We've never won the 6 nations. The oddball year was 1973 when the trophy was a 5 way tie - as only wins were counted.

Detournement
Strong pack and an exciting midfield with big Rozza and Niko. Seymour wasn't on the injury list so he should be playing in the QF final and Hogg is meant to play as well. Really looking forward to the Edinburgh game later.

Mark Connolly
Gauzere for a Munster game isn't bad - he's likely to wind them up as much as he will Edinburgh. Owens for the Glasgow game is good though.
Detournement
Good patience for the try there by Edinburgh but Leinster were offside at every ruck. The Leinster guys were actually standing beside the knees at the ruck with feet trailing back.

Detournement
WP Apart from a couple of daft moments at the start of the half Edinburgh dominated that. With a strong bench they should be confident to go on and win now.
Detournement
The Edinburgh pack massacred Leinster there. Sending a wee message to Munster. The Leinster backrow of Ruddock, Leavy and Deegan was by far the strongest part of their team but Barcaly, Watson and Mata dominated. I don't think DVDM got a pass all game. The big man won't even need a shower before he hits the dancing.

No surprise to see Doyle get that wrong despite watching it several times. Williams gets a nothing shove, then wipes a guy out well beyond the ruck when the ball has gone. Two absolute wallopers though. Hope Ryan Wilson has seen that, given he lives in both their heads.
Detournement
Big Ryan could take the two of them of at the same time. Aye the ball is definitely out when Williams hits Care. JP Doyle is murder. Duncy Weir apparently got MOTM after getting subbed on for Worcester after 4 mins.
Allan Jacobsen
Aye, Williams is the c**t here. Wipes Care out then shoves his forearm in his face: "no foul play" Doyle's a fucking moron.
