Aye there was a bit in the first half where he didn’t say a word for about 15 seconds then went “we have some soccer”

He's magnificent. I'm enjoying this more than having to listen to Ian Crocker or Sam Matterface etc.. The game is fairly decent for its albeit, very low standard.

Hibs Women 2-1 Hearts Women
Yesterday I went to Easter Road for the women's Edinburgh Derby. As I went with a Hearts-fan I know, I went with her to the away end. That only my second "random" match in Scotland I've been in an away end, after being in the Ibrox away end with Motherwell when doing the 42 (and the only other times I've been in any Scottish away end was at Hampden for Scotland v The Netherlands).

There was a great turnout of nearly 5,400. The main stand was pretty full, a very decent Hearts following around me, and the East stand had a fair few people as well.  The game was decent. The first half there were a few chances, but no goals. Hibs scored early in the second half, not much later they scored a second and it looked like the game was over. However, Hearts didn't give up and scored with 15 minutes left. They put up a good fight to try to equalise but Hibs held out to claim what was ultimately a deserved derby win.

This also makes Easter Road the first stadium in Scotland with stands on all 4 sides where I've actually attended a game in each stand. Nice nerdy stat for a geek like me. :)

That was a nerdy stat I was thinking about a few months back:

Grounds where you have been in all four stands.

For me it's Tynecastle, Easter Road, Hampden, Tannadice, Starks Park and Pittodrie.

I need to sneak into the Derry at Dens and the home end at East End and to claim those too..

I think I can only manage East End with the Covid Regs of sitting in the NE and Easter Road been so many times living in Edinburgh in my younger days.

I have watched games from all 4 stands at Hampden, Pittodrie, Easter Road, Tynecastle, East End Park, McDermid, Dens, Tannadice, Firhill and Ibrox that I can think of.

Due to covid and the fans being separated, i have been in all 4 stands at Stark’s park. Done easter road as well, all 4 times watching Raith. League games behind the goals and the west stand. East stand for the Bayern game and the famous five for the cup final.

Back at Borough Briggs : Elgin 1 Forfar 0 att 417. Despite Robert Jones seeing his pen saved, the hosts didnt need the 2nd goal as although Forfar laid siege in the 2nd half, they only forced  3 or 4 saves, and wasted other half chances.Their final ball often over hit or misplaced, whilst Elgin relied on the odd breakaway. 20231121_214954.thumb.jpg.24237c6e95c8ab45da61187b0898a77d.jpg20231121_211336.thumb.jpg.68705435a76c6aedaca874a8cd362595.jpg

Hi, I have a stupid question and I thought the people who frequent this thread might give it better answers than it deserves.

If you wanted to be able to say you've been to every ground in the Midland League, do you think that would need to include Montrose Roselea's Broomfield Park?

I know it doesn't matter at all and it's just personal, which is why the question is stupid, but when I get to the point of completing a list my inner anorak has the urge to make sure it's been done right. If someone asked me the same question I would say no, Roselea's main ground is Links Park, but I've no idea if that's what others would think so I thought I'd ask here.

Clach 0 Nairn 1 fair result as the visitors adapted to the windy conditions better, keeping the ball down. Tidy finish by Maclean i think, reacting well. I expected more from the Lilywhites playing down slope and with the wind 2nd half - apart from rattling the bar, they offered little, really poor in pushing forward. Seemed a decent crowd on such a miserable night.20231122_222009.thumb.jpg.09fdfe29b867ddd3b43f4d05e38cede7.jpg20231122_222009.thumb.jpg.09fdfe29b867ddd3b43f4d05e38cede7.jpg

Have watched Roselea at both grounds this season. Broomfield Park is definitely worth a visit and feels more like a Midlands League ground.

At Clyde v Jeanfield Swifts.

Massively troubled by the formatting of the race night poster in the Vaults pre-game. Albeit enjoying its fanzine style layout.

Good game, Jeanfield slightly ahead on chances but 0-0 HT. Clyde rattled the post with a Hotshot Hamish thunderbolt and I still don’t quite know how it stayed out. My eyes told me it was in all the way until it wasn’t.

Finished 2-0 Clyde, after a good second half performance from Clyde. Good cup tie.

Kirkcaldy and Dysart 2-2 Camelon

Yes yes Big Team found etc. Back with the Mariners, this time in Fife to face Kirkcaldy in the East First.

I work in Kirkcaldy so I knew the journey well and I am fond of the town. Splendid architecture and the ground is behind Forbo Flooring that still makes linoleum!

Alex Penman Park is on the basic side but the club have done a great job of it. Plenty room to view the game and have adapted portacabins and shipping containers into toilets, catering and a small stand.

This is the proverbial game of two halves. Camelon dominate the first half and deservedly lead at the break. A looping header the difference. A straight red three minutes into the second half changes the game and Camelon go ultra defensive to soak up the pressure. They can't do this for long though and a beautiful header gets the hosts level. I was thinking I'd be writing about the game fizzling out until the game sparked to life with ten to go. Wild (Wylde) scenes in the away end as Camelon go ahead and the report changed to the results that get a team promoted but a late equaliser sees the points shared.

Another of the excellent "junior" grounds in Fife it is well worth your time. Also, in a rarity for Kirkcaldy you can watch the game from the Half way line.

Renfrew 0-1 Petershill.

Millburn was frozen solid so it was a quick trip across the Erskine Bridge to the plastic at New Western Park. The Peasy should have been out of sight before half time but couldn't convert their numerous chances. Despite relentless second half pressure, the home side couldn't find an equaliser.
