Andy groundhopper
Western League relegation scrap Tytherington Rocks 1 Almondsbury 3 att around 100. Two quickfire 2nd half goals (pen and o.g) give Almonds the points in the driving rain, the Rocks see a pen saved around the hour mark, they worked hard but seldom threatened late on. Decent game, back to work TMRW

DoingThe42
35/42: St Johnstone 2-3 Hearts, Premiership, 28/12/2022. Hearts beat St Johnstone 3-2 for the second time this season in a nice wee boost to my season goal-per-game count. Went to the Muirton Lounge before the game, which is a very nicely-appointed spot, but the queues for a pint after our first drink were ridiculous, so we just packed it in and went into the ground. Once things got underway it went inexplicably well for Hearts in the early stages. Soon 2-0 up and playing very well, Hearts fell out of it for spells and carried a bit of luck in reaching half-time with that lead intact. The second half was entertaining/nervy, and a further three goals made for an enjoyable game played amid a pretty good atmosphere. Even at 3-1 to Hearts, I said to one of my mates that this could finish 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 4-4... It just felt like the kind of game where it could go absolutely any way, especially with the VAR interventions and three penalties awarded. Overall, probably a deserved win for Hearts on balance. A great result that's been a long time coming in Perth, and Hearts' move into third is starting to look ominous. I've seen St Johnstone three times now this season, and they've looked pretty decent each time. Interested to see where they finish up this year. So, with 2022 coming to an end, I'm 35 games into The 42 and it's currently standing at 16 home wins, 16 away wins, and 3 draws. Didn't expect that. Craig fae the Vale
St Cadoc's 2-1 Shotts Bon Accord. A great comeback from St Cadoc's after going down to ten men in the second half. The 3 points will ensure they finish 2022 on top of the WoSFL First Division.
Guest
Broxburn 1-5 Lithgae Rose East of Scotland Premier for us today. A revisit to Albyn Park for me but the first time since the major renovations. Really impressed. It's a great set up, we stayed behind the goal, up the bank, and could see everything no bother. Did wonder why the enclosure has to be so far back though. Lithgae are top of league and Broxburn aren't. That was pretty evident here. Bit of a routine pumping with some cracking moves and goals for the Rose. They'll be an asset to the Lowland League if they can get there.
Jute
Spartans 1-0 Civil Service Strollers Decent game between two sides at top end of lowland league. Both teams had some decent opportunities. Spartans were probably better side overall and deserved the win which with other results today leaves them right in the title race.
Guest Jedi
East of Scotland Division 3 for Fauldhouse 7 v Harthill 1, the one which survived the weather, and my ground number 93. All over bar the shouting at HT with the hosts 5-1 to the good by then. 2 penalties among Fauldhouse's 7 goal haul, and a straight red for one of the Harthill subs minutes after coming on.

It had a dirt track (speedway? dogs?).
The Mantis
Cowdenbeath 0 Tranent 0. Disappointed that Nitten v Whitehill was rained off on Friday night so decided on a Hogmanay trip over to the San Central. A nice quiet day on the trains all the way from Eskbank and back. 79 games for the year. Cowden never opened the terracing, but a decent wee crowd of 345 for a LL game. A disappointing goalless game to wind up the year though, so the highlights were probably the pints in Wee Jimmies and the Halfway House and (maybe) the bridie from Bayne's.

Crow
Edinburgh United 2-0 Craigroyston @ Paties Road Stadium yesterday. EOSFL Division 2 relegation 6 pointer . United broke the deadlock just after the restart. Reduced to 10 men when a defender made a last man foul, they held on pretty comfortably, before adding a late 2nd. Crowd 79.
