Andy groundhopper
Good to see photos and hear about the grounds that I'd visited years ago, when I did myΒ bulk of various leagues and grounds. Too knackered to do miles of driving, the ease of getting to and around Scotland makes it much easier. Next up to recomplete the 42 and a few more non leaguers on my travels. Next visit in February
Crow
Spartans 3-1 Rangers B @ Ainslie Park Stadium . A brilliant performance from Spartans on Tuesday night who are the new Lowland League leaders . Rangers had levelled making it 1-1 at the break but the home side went on to deservedly win it in the 2nd half. Crowd 320.
tamthebam
I was at Forthbank last night for Stirling Uni v Bo'ness. I've now seen Stirling Uni at home twice and they've lost twice but I did see them win at Cliftonhill. Funny old gameΒ It was good value for money at seven quid to get in. No catering but I'd had my tea anyway. A good Bo'ness performance saw them take the three points although Uni had passed up chances early on. A late Uni goal set up a grandstand finish with the goalie coming up for a corner at the end but it was all too lateΒ
Craig fae the Vale
St Patrick's FPs 3-1 Dumbarton Academy FPsΒ A really good game of football in a rare meeting between the two huge rivals (first time in about 6 years I believe). Let down a bit by a dreadful refereeing display. Accies reduced to ten men at the end of the first half for a challenge that only merited a yellow and further reduced to nine late on. A stoppage time goal gave St Pat's the win and they added another at the death with an empty net with the Accies keeper up for a free kick. Enjoyable game and a great occasion with well over 200 in attendance.Β
Guest
Hurlford United 3-0 Kirkintilloch Rob RoyΒ Hurlford, in January, it started raining heavily in the 2nd half. It's not even as good as it sounds. Tone for today was set watching Celtic supporters get on a bus in Kilmarnock to go to Parkhead and watch Celtic play ehm... Kilmarnock Game was over after 15 minutes. An early penalty and some dreadful defending ended this as a contest. 2nd half pretty much a non event on a pitch that was cutting up badly. Rabs join Swansea in the "unintentionally staunch away strip" category with this help for heroes effort.
atfccfc
A revisit to Pittodrie for Aberdeen V St Johnstone today. Planned this one in advance as the last four grounds I need for the 42 weren't available because teams were either away or the RMT Strike making trains unavailable for Annan and Elgin. Cove Rangers were initially away from home before the game was switched. But I'd already bought my ticket before I realised.Β Travelled by bus as it is easy to get back to Edinburgh.Β Aberdeen much the better team and had an early goal disallowed for an arm being offside. Saints seemed happy to sit in and frustrate Aberdeen. But the Dons kept plugging away and managed to grab the win with two late goals.Β

tamthebam
Tynecastle 1 Musselburgh 0. This actually was a random match to go to as I had meant to go to Dunipace v Dunbar but was running late and wouldn't have made the kick off.Β I had been listening to Tam Cowan on OFTB defend refs and then saw an "interesting" refereeing performance, shall we say. Ref was over-officious in the first half and then frustrated the travelling support in the second half by letting one or two naughty things from Tynecastle go. Eventually the assistant ref informed the ref about something the Musselburgh manager had said and he got a red card to add to the seethe of the fans from the Honest Toun.Β Tynecastle don't look too bad a side although I'd have to see them away from home. Meggetland, being shared with the egg chasers, is a bit of a gluepot of a pitch. Mussey are a bit blunt up front though.Β

Crow
Managed to tick another one (71) off the 92 yesterday and really enjoyed it. Β£20 admission and programmes Β£3.Β Morecambe 2-1 Cheltenham Town @ Mazuma Stadium . EFL League 1. Really good game and atmosphere with both sides battling to stay up. 1-1 at the break, after Town had levelled, The Shrimps managed by Derek Adams retook the lead on 47 mins and held on to move out of the drop zone. The Mantis
Wasn't going to bother posting as it's not random, but hey, love a visit to Gayfield. A couple of decent pints, steak & black pudding pie, and smokies to take home. Plus 3 points for ICT. Shame they now keep the away fans fenced off behind the goals though.

Guest
Queen of the South 0-0 Kelty Hearts (4-2 on Pens) My mum's side of the family come from Sanquhar and Thornhill so I've always had a soft spot for Queens and have been to Palmerston several times. So with pricing being reasonable it was time to pop Mr Nilpferd's Queens cherry and get him to Dumfries. Jesus this game was rotten. This made Blackburn v Sauchie (see post from 3rd December) look like Netherlands 1974 v Barcelona 2011. Penalties decide it after late Queens pressure doesn't lead to a goal. Must say though the scranary at Palmerston is excellent and also a lovely touch with the Queens memorial wall. Will start enquiries about my Great Uncle Queens supporter Jim Hogg who died last year.
DoingThe42
Accies 3-2 Clyde, Challenge Cup Quarter-Final. Not really a random one, since I'm getting to a lot of Bully Wee this year, but enjoyed the Young Team viewing the game from the top of a shipping container. Nae luck for Clyde, with Roberts hitting the post with literally the last kick of the game. Β

Crow
Edinburgh University 0-4 University of Stirling @ East Peffermill on Wednesday night.
