Used to listen to his show now and again on a Sunday morning on 6Music with his mate, Matt I think, must be 15 years ago, and they came across as a pair of right creepy b*****ds. Vaguely remember them giggling along to some story about a threesome they had where Brand had been officiously coordinating positions, much to his mate's amusement, and even back then it all sounded a bit shady.

Aye, wasn't particularly replying to you, more to posts I've read on here and beyond where such and such is absolutely shite and will never make it, or none of these kids are good enough. Criticism is natural but I find it hard to gauge any of them really as very few have had an extended run in the team. Same people probably who are now talking about how much Declan Glass is worth in today's market, after a few reasonably promising displays in the Championship. Meekison has been written off, Mochrie too bizarrely. Even under Courts when Asghar was beating his substantial chest about how many academy players we were introducing, most would get half an hour and then be back on the bench again for the next month. When Chalmers left there were people talking very authoritatively about him, his apparent weaknesses mainly (boy's just no good enough apparently) but I can only think of a handful of times I've actually seen him play. He did ok against Rangers in the 1-0 Jamie Robson game then was bombed out for Niskannen, who genuinely wasn't very good. Not to say we're not all guilty of it, I had pretty much dismissed Fotheringham as fodder after last season which shows how much I know.

He hit the post against Celtic from outside the box. Think it was the game Levitt scored that great goal. Hasn't done much since other than a few nice touches but has barely been afforded a chance other than some 10 minute cameos and starting at Livingston up front on his own in Fletcher's absence because we had given away all our strikers earlier in the season. Hard to judge any of the younger players, they've all been intermittently chucked into a bin fire over the past year or so but the ones that went out on loan seemed to do well so a good move for him in the interim potentially. Has never really looked ready for the first team but hopefully that will come.

Assuming this is the first time we've met in the league since 95/96 in the old First Division? We struggled against Airdrie that season and failed to win a game IIRC. Remember us going down to nine men at Tannadice in a Christmas time fixture and another game I think we lost a couple of late goals. This'll be a tough one as well. Still not convinced we're well equipped to break teams down at home and expect Airdrie to do well this season.

Not gonna lie, wrote Holt off as Dens Park landfill but turns out he's the new Davie Narey, not to get too carried away.

Pressed more in the second half and it worked a treat, more of this please. A work in progress clearly but there's a pretty strong spine to the team in Holt, Gallagher, Docherty and Moult. Keep those four match fit and I'd be fairly confident of getting back up at the first time of asking.
