First and last time I'll see "Thompson" and "Quality" in the same sentence, read into it what you will but we decided playing Andy Dowie at right back was better. He'll be alright in the first though, can swing in a dangerous cross and can run up and down the wing all day without being particularly that fast, has got a horrible first touch/pass though and jesus f**k he's really,really bad if someone runs at him. I hope he does well though, if/when we get relegated the fife derbys are the only thing that will get me through the first.

How many managers are "lazy" though? someone made the point of when people say keepers are good shot stoppers, and I would say he has it bang on, at this level near enough all keepers are good "shot stoppers" similarly near enough all the managers are "hard workers". In the end there is far more to the job than just working hard.

Why would he get played at left back? for starters he's right footed, he's not even terribly good with that foot so I'd hate to see him try use his left foot. It's not like he's got pace, dribbling or crossing abillities to help him contribute to being a left back. I may also be wrong but I find it incredibly doutful, when he joined Dunfermline no St Mirren fan mentioned him as a right back, let alone a left back, was always a centre back/sweeper. Out of interest how has he done for Queens? I felt that while he was a bit shite he wasn't nearly as bad as some Dunfermline fans made out, I preferred him to Keddie in any case. He's not, at all.

:huh:While I'm far from an expert I am reasonably confident when I say he has never played left back in his life, it's similar as to saying that Carmichael could play in goals.

Using my amazing skills of knowing the high schools in Dunfermline this would either be. Woodmill High School, St Columbus High, Dunfermline High or Queene Anne High, simply because these are all the secondry schools in Dunfermline...

St Columbus went to Dunfermline high? At one point when I was in second year it kicked off so badly over a couple of days that on the third day there was riot vans etc waiting outside both schools for them coming out. What school were you playing?

Burns has been one of our better players? What on earth??!! The problem with Burns is that he is just not really that great anything, isn't blessed with great pace, stature or technical ability, his greatest attribute is that he gives 100 percent when playing, for that reason alone I don't dislike him, I just hate seing his name on the teamsheet.

Cowdenbeath were not really rancid at all, they certainly made Raith sweat a couple of times from what I remember, if it wasn't for that winter period where there squad didn't train they might have survived, it could be argued all McGlynn has to do is keep you up over a rancid Ayr and Queens side... And he also took Aberdeen to the knock out stages of the Europa league,drawing with Bayern Munich at Pittodrie before getting beat in Germany. Celtic couldn't manage to make it past the group stages, to try judge him in one game where Queens played out of there skins would be incredibly silly.

I must've missed him splashing the cash at Kilmarnock and Ross County? both times he was brought in to save them from relegation, which he achieved. You only need to look at how Aberdeen and Dunfermline went after he left to realise how good a manager he is. Fair point

It was a hyperbole, In my lifetime(born just before the mid 90's) and certainly sinse I've been interested in football(late 90's) Raith havn't been pleasing on the eye. Probably, we're pretty brutal to watch right now for example.

Sadly we don't really have much intention coming down, and luckily Inverness are pretty brutal. If we don't come down this season it could be a bit of a wait aswell.
