  1. As a result of the recent lead price increases, I'm finding it difficult to get a good price for roofing lead from any of my usual suppliers. Anyone got any suggestions for a cheaper supplier? I am, of course, goign to resort to the time-honoured tradition of Googling it, but any specific supplier suggestions would be welcomed.
  2. The Deftones are the world's greatest band, rivalled only by Placebo and McLusky

  5. Going to be on my Jack Jones all day tomorrow in Cardiff from 8 until 4. Anyone got any suggestions for things to do. At the minute it looks like I'll do the museum and the bay area then probably just sit in a boozer thereafter. However, that sounds fairly boring so anything else that's suggested will be considered.
  6. is apparently a teenage Dumbarton fan *confused*

      That's a good point, Jack :)

I'm a wee bit out of my teens now though, almost a decade out of them lol

  7. Off to Wales next weekend, heading down to stay with a mate in Ynysybwl (near Pontypridd) and going into Cardiff to see Cardiff City v Ipswich on the Saturday evening. Anything else worth doing whilst down there? Other than shagging sheep before someone says it
  8. And once again your argument falls down, as I stated, very clearly and repeatedly, that it is possible in law. You can't argue an admission against itself. Even for a desperate, immature pointscorer such as yourself, that's pretty poor debating. Re-read the thread. You lost many minutes ago but tried to hang on debating a pedantic point which I had already explained and cleared up. You can keep replying to this thread all night if you like, but you will still have lost this argument.
  9. You're trying, desperately, to win this argument on a technicality, or at least claw back some points. However, you lost some time ago.
  10. Ah, yes, pedantry. You're on familiar territory here, aren't you? Well, we've covered this one, so you know the answer. They are a decent source of debt advice, they are a terrible source of legal advice. Your issue in this debate seems to be a problem differentiating between the two.
  11. They are obliged to say that as the law exists. It will not happen. That is all. Oh, and for the record, never take legal advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau. That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
  12. Your pedantry has become very predictable. Sheriff Officers will NOT be sent to collect or repossess in Scotland. Regardless of the fact that the law that allows them to still exists, it will never be exercised. There are far too many variables and ways out of it and no solicitor would let it get that far, nor would any Sheriff in the land. Your pedantry may be self-satisfying, but you are wrong. As I have stated, the law may exist and, as such, it is theoretically possible, but theoretically possible is no basis for your argument in this case. You are wrong. Take it from me, little boy.
  13. From your own link: "In theory, yes. In practice, this is very rare. Before sending in sheriff officers, creditors must have tried other ways of collecting your money. They also need a court order to enter your home and seize your possessions, so it is very unlikely that this would happen." As one who works in law, I can assure you that Sheriff Officers most certainly will not be sent into your home to collect your goods, under any circumstances. It is possible in theoretical Scots Law, but will not happen.
  14. Buckfast isn't cheap at all. Correct. Sheriff's Officers don't collect debts, they simply issue debt notices by hand. The "collection" part of a Sheriff Officer / Messenger-At-Arms company is simply a call centre which takes debit card payments on behalf of its clients (usually Councils) but they have no legal powers.
  15. I ALREADY TOOK MY SUICIDE PILL!!!!

    OH LAWDS!!!

  16. Just had a look at the website, looks spot on. Cheers.
  17. I'll be staying in the Mercure Point Hotel so the Old Town and city centre are both within easy reach. Ideally, I'm looking for classier places, cost irrelevent really as long as there's a good selection of food and drinks and it has nice decor and clientelle. Same applies to restaurants.
  18. Staying in Edinburgh tonight and will be there all day tomorrow too. Anyone suggest good bars and restaurants to check out whilst I'm there?
  19. In fairness to all concerned, you should have known that. No-one's taken a car, with headlights on, past the speed of light and all the lab tests, suppositions and stats in the world won't change that fact. You could have spared us all from an Ad Lib post, but you didn't. you left the door open for him to post and he did. I hope you'e happy.
  20. That'll be because he'll be playing in the league beneath him
