Yeah it was well put together and they showed their working, so to speak. It'll all come out in the wash I'm sure.

Feel like Brindley does a lot of runnign, but little that's effective. Always seems hard to pick a team in advance as well as Duffy's team selections seem to be done by tombola and the formations don't seem to matter mostly as they're just running about all over the shop.

See Noel Clarke has had his BAFTA membership revoked and an aware taken back after accusations have arisen from 20 women of sexual misconduct. Some info on the allegations here: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/apr/29/actor-noel-clarke-accused-of-groping-harassment-and-bullying-by-20-women Any P&B members ever had their BAFTA membership revoked?

Very similar pal. I went on holiday last summer at the last minute as we didn't think we were getting away anywhere and then restrictions were eased enough for us to go not too far away. It was nice enough, but with most things being closed it was a bit dull and the kids missed out on things. It ended up just being more of a week off work / school / away from home than a holiday.

I'm swithering on my commitment to go to London for the Euros with the boys. As much for personal reasons as for concerns that lingering restrictions may put a dampener on the trip though. Looks that way wherever I've been. The mood of people, to my eye at least, seems to be a return to "normal" due to lockdown fatigue. People have had enough now and restrictions are no longer effective as they can't and won't be adhered to indefinitely. The restrictions initially were mostly well respected, but now other than a lot of businesses being closed or restricted, life has been reset mainly as people in general have migrated back to their lives regardless.

You aren't being pilloried for "not towing the popular line". you're being pilloried by other posters for adopting an ultra aggressive stance and saying outlandish things. Others have been pretty generous in repeatedly suggesting you step back rather than piling on you, and I suggest you take their advice.

That's not the case.

That's exactly what this one was, though without the layered papers. The colleague in question was a works inspector for the council and would accompany them on forced entries to carry out gas certificates in properties where the tenant hadn't replied to arrange access. He said in 99 out of 100 cases the tenants were home when they forced entry and were living in a state of clear addiction / mental health hell in every case. I remember a joiner once telling me he was sent to a house years ago to replace the worktops and upon dismantling the old ones found he wasn't familiar with the material. He sawed into it and discovered it was regular timber laminate worktops with years of layered newspaper over the top. The tenants had been lining the worktop with newspaper each day, cutting fish on them and then just layering new paper the following day again, for years. -
Read that article this morning. Harrowing stuff.

It's almost as though the mass proliferation of firearms into the hands of the public, together with a toxic culture which encourages and enables gun violence and a lack of empathy, coupled with a lack of available heathcare, both mental and physical, creates a self sustaining situation where Americans are inclined to shoot each other. In the words of The Onion (a headline they re-print shockingly often due to the frequency of these incidents): "No way to stop mass shootings, says only nation where this routinely happens".

Yeah you always hope that folk have enough to get by, but life is expensive. -

Well, like everything in life there are nuances. It could be that they're very hard up financially and needed to use that money to buy food or keep the lights on. It's not always as simple as they were just tempted to spend it elsewhere. -

I'll bet. We went to one recently that had been nailed shut from outside and the front door plastered with loads of hand scrawled notes rambling about religious stuff and anti christs. Inside was like that one. It's very sad as well as disgusting. My colleague who worked at a council maintenance department before working with us has some truly eye popping, mind boggling, horrifying stories about the states some people live in. Think broken toilets unreported for years and massive mental health issues. -
A childhood friend who was part of our friends circle until we were mid teens dropped a half brick into a swans nest while the swans were sitting in it. He also used to carry out campaigns of telephone harassment against seemingly random victims to amuse himself and keep calling them in the dead of night for months. He once verbally abused some similar aged teens from across a canal and then conveniently fucked off before they returned team handed and kicked f**k out of those of us who were left. Used to keep bottles of his own urine dotted around his room. Also was a serial liar. All the signs were there and I would not be in the least bit surprised if he is currently locked up somewhere.
