  1. Hotels.com - booked trip in February for weekend away on April. Was cancelled by them due to Covid. Voucher issued no refund. Tried to rebook and hotel wasn’t available so they agreed refund on June. Only got my cash back this month after approx dozen phone calls each a half hour minimum duration. Despite their website stating credit card payments would be refunded within 24 hours. Koontz of the highest order to deal with. Never again.
  2. Did Alan Stubbs not claim that docs cited this as a contributory cause of his testicular cancer?
  3. Done my first hill in four(ish) years today. Meikle Bin.....thoroughly enjoyed it. Steeper than I thought it’d be and harder on the old legs. Best bit was I was with my two daughters. Had a great day out. Never done hills with them before, they’re only getting into it. Looking forward to the next one, maybe introduce them to a Munro.
  4. If only strips style and designs counted in the final league positions, we’d walk this league.
  5. Don’t encourage him mate he’s polluting loads of threads with his inside bloody knowledge.

Booked tickets for Echo and the Bunnymen in the Barras..... May 25th can’t come quick enough.
  7. Went to a record fair in Queen Margaret Union couple of months back. Lifted a vinyl copy of Hunky Dory for a look. Anyway talked to the guy on the stall who claimed it was his best album, I countered with Aladdin Sane. Bottom line was he offered me my money back if I didn’t like it. Paid my cash and needless to say it’s been played to death the last couple of months. Can’t believe it took me all these years to get round to listening to it (already have 9 albums). Still think Aladdin Sane is better. Not by much tho.
  8. Struggling a bit just now since eventually managing to get under 30 mins for a 5k. Managed it one more time but haven’t been able to do it again in almost two weeks. Seem stuck at 31 mins ish for 5.1k. - 5.2k. Thought I’d went way faster this morning but Strava says no. Not sure I’m expecting too much. 53 yrs and never been a runner. Not sure how to improve.
  9. I’d have him back if we were getting the quality of player he brought over at the time. Was brilliant stuff to watch once they got going. Would love to know the full story. His autobiography may be interesting, would be good to get his side of the story.
  10. Managed my first sub 30mins 5k this morning. Quite chuffed with myself.
  11. Strava is good. You can get a free version. Measures, maps and times your exercise.
  12. Used the lockdown to start running outdoors. Doing minimum 5k, five days a week at 7am ish as I’m working from home and not commuting. Accidentally done 11.5k by doing a longer run on the Sunday afternoon not realising how much longer the route was. Was enjoying it so kept going. Absolutely knackered. Using Strava has helped as it measures and times the runs giving me wee targets to beat each time. Managed to do 6k in 35mins which I was quite chuffed about. Might keep up the early runs when back to work.
  13. I’ve done hee haw constructive about the house. Working from home but that consists of an email every hour or so to prove I’m awake. Managed to get out in the morning for a few runs and actually managed 11.5k yesterday. Slow as sh@te but who cares about times.
  14. October???? Haven’t seen that. Going ok, bit worried about my parents and how they’ll cope. Both are in their mid 70s and usually active and out and about. Trying to establish a routine while working from home but not as busy as normal. Up early to go for a run, set breakfast, lunch and dinner times and trying not to resort to drinking each night. Other than that the novelty of board games on a Saturday night will wear off soon. Even the wife is wanting the football back so she can get me out the house.
  15. I sang along to that - one of the best National anthems
  16. Been to a record fair for the first time today. Quite surprised by the pricing, a wee bit more expensive than I thought it’d be. Picked up good condition Bowie - Hunky Dory and Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA for £14 and £9. Couldn’t believe the prices of some Beatles albums.
  17. Caught a documentary on them last week on BBC4 and was surprised how good they were. During the 80s I thought the were a boy band with no substance. Fairly changed my mind after watching that. Some good stuff on there. Been streaming a bit this week. Anything you would recommend thats maybe outwith the hits?
  18. Not sure how much the conditions influenced the game or the result but the first 45 minutes were excellent from our perspective. Should have went in 3 or 4 up I think. Attempted to keep the ball on the deck for a good whack of the game esp first half and it was better than most of what we’ve produced this season. I wonder how much of that was due to big Sean Crichton being missing? Also made a difference two up front and both playing a bit closer together. I wouldn’t change it for next week unless we have to but no doubt we’ll go back to Sean Crichton at the back and three up top esp if Carri is fit.
  19. Think Murray made a mistake effectively reverting back to the 3 at the back we used earlier in the season. McCann and McDonald were too high up and Hearts realised they could get in behind the full backs in the 2nd half and took full advantage. Easy in retrospect but 4-5-1 might have been better and try to choke the game for a replay.
  20. Brilliant for us as well. If only all players had his attitude and work rate. Smokes like a lum too I’m sure.
  21. Auctioneers isn’t bad. Wee step up from Spoons.
  22. Was it handball? I thought it hit his midrift, I was quite a bit away mind you.
