  1. Late declarations of gifts received apparently (something Johnson has been reprimanded for too) but if his main selling point is that he's more scrupulous that Johnson then it seems pretty clear that Starmer should have done his utmost to ensure he avoided this particular pratfall.
  2. I'd travel (& pay) to see a reenactment of the final scene of The Wickerman with PA in the role of honour!
  3. A small victory in what often seems like a losing war.... Arron Banks loses libel action against reporter Carole Cadwalladr | Arron Banks | The Guardian
  4. Always works for me. Back in the 80s after Madness covered Labi Siffre's It Must Be Love (better than the original) LS responded by doing a cover of My Girl (not better).
  5. Fairy Nuff. I've a coupla mates who usually go to see Jeff Beck (not my cuppa tea) whenever he's in Glasgow so I'll check out their opinion, as I said it seems a strange pairing to me, Ida thought Depp would have fitted in better with his dad's band who are also touring just now but maybe SirMick said no.
  6. Fuxake you ain't nothin but an old hippy these daze! *************** Interesting take tho, Beck has always been lauded for his "artistic integrity" much more so than his ex-Yardbird contemporaries Clapton & Page but maybe playing a KJ song has it's own integrity in a sorta Neil Young & The Shocking Pink way - an album that led his record label to sue him! **************** Compare the setlists with & without JD... 7. Much prefer a results pitch like at Lords altho probly not for every Test!
  8. Seen he's been appearing onstage with Jeff Beck, often described as the Guitarist's Guitarist, this is from a Grauniad article... ...but last week Beck was playing with an amateur after charging full price for the gig now I know Depp has played with Alice Cooper (Hollywood Vampires) in recent years but Alice (and I much prefer him to Beck) is Showbiz these days. I wonder if they played Hi Ho Silver Lining?
  9. That was the Stewart Kean from an alternative universe that afternoon...
  10. I think there was a lot of us that day, IIRC it was Yardley's debut and we scored from the KO with the pass to the left side and a cross into the box for the big man - did it ever work again?
  11. Tokely - ICT had put us out the Challenge & League cups earlier that season, both midweek games up in Sneck, I've always wondered if there was previous between between them from these matches cos my memory is of that tackle coming from nowhere, it couldn't even be called mistimed it was an assault. Hartley - Never minded him, as you say he was a pantomime villain, first noticed at an end-of-season game back in 94/95 when he took a corner at the Love Street/North Bank corner from which they took the lead and he ran down the touchline in front of us with his hand cupped to his ears, we actually came back to win that game 3-2 but it was one of the few times we got the better of him.
  12. Isn't her knowledge of geography a bit dodgy? More likely to send them into Ferguslie!
  13. Truss is one of the BU co-authors plus it would be good to get a lass who was skooled in Paisley into Downing Street!
  14. I think if BJ goes Britannia Unhinged would get behind one candidate (probably Priti) and look to fight a GE on the sort of "red meat" policies that would attract their 2019 converts - hanging anyone?
  15. Did Mikey have his fingers crossed behind his back? ****************** Bit of trivia - TM only survived the Tories no confidence vote back in Dec 2018 by saying she wouldn't lead the party into the next GE, Johnson will give no such assurances. I've been wrong before but I feel the vote will go against Johnson.
  16. That may well be a key factor, back in 2019 it took BJ 5 rounds of ballots with just the Tory MPs to get 50% and then he won the membership vote by 2:1. Who knows who (AC/DC) the kippers might vote for - vocalist Brian Johnson?
  17. Tonight's the night, I'm disappointed in Brady announcing it so soon - shirley we all deserved a post-coital Jubilee Monday?
  18. You'll be applying for the role of Governor General then...
  19. Dear Prudence And Your Bird Can Sing Tomorrow Never Knows A Day In The Life Is choosing the medley from side 2 of Abbey Road allowed?
  20. Was that one not simply practical in a hot country before refrigeration?
  21. @Arch Stanton @Dirty Sanchez Thanks for the info - won't have to watch it now.
  22. Just back from walking the dog - one house decked out in UJ paraphernalia but that's all. The Rid Stane (sic) was festooned in UJ stuff too but they're Staunch in there and they like sensible haircuts. The other pub within walking distance (The Eagle) is mixed but probly tending twards staunchness too, but that's Ayr for you.
