  1. A win would put us level on points with Livi going into the final game and a chance to finish above them for the first time since we were promoted, even if it's just me, myself I'm up for it!
  2. That was 30 years ago, players carrying a belly and still being successful are a lot rarer these days.
  3. I can only comment on what I read on here. But, off the top of my head, I can think of a few explanations of why Erhahon raised it on Twitter whereas other players haven't: a) he uses Twitter more b) he has a thinner skin, or a bigger ego c) he doesn't believe that players should be criticised* d) he's less frightened of raising the issue St. Mirren fans - starting fights in empty houses since 1877.
  4. I agree abusing your own player does no good but I'll admit to the G&S option "What never - hardly ever".
  5. My bet is we'll be sweating on his potential move come August 31st!
  6. All is flux..... As Heraclitus said "It is impossible to step into the same river twice".
  7. I know and after the recent run it would be understandable to put on the beach gear and wonder why it gets that little bit tighter each year but I'm one of those guys who obsesses about the little things. Hopefully Robinson has finally got to grips with the squad he inherited and feels the need to finish as high as possible before he rebuilds for next season - just checked the table & Livi are 5 points ahead of us so it's unlikely but make it so Mr Nosnibor .
  8. I might be alone in this but for me the season isn't over yet, we've still got three winnable matches left and the chance to finish above Livi for the first time since we were promoted - a small step but one that would please me immensely.
  9. We have the whiff of dead fish about us at the moment and it's not gonna be tictacs that saves the season for us now but finding that 110% attitude that we had most of the time under Handsome Jim even when things weren't going our way. Unfortunately I could not find the 4 defenders on the line from that game against Rangers in 2007/08. @pozbaird
  10. Yeah, that's what the Hibs & Motherwell fans told us - I very much hope we have a coupla big performances left in us but my confidence is low.
  11. No, the team going down from the Premiership is usually the team to shoot at and if you don't bounce straight back the novelty aspect wears off.
  12. As a long suffering fan I can remember a coupla times in the past when we pulled of unexpected wins to escape relegations - the two Great Escapes and at least once under Gus when we pulled off a big win out of the blue but none of these came in the midst of such a moribund run. Really I am hoping for something like 87/88 when we pulled of a totally unexpected away win against Hertz in the penultimate game of the season although I am not advocating the managerial change we made before that game. I too have the fear!
  13. Possibly not too enthused after his spell with us as a player but he's certainly turned things around at Morton who were bottom when he was appointed but since then would be placed third over half a season (18 games), by my calculations, behind Killie and only one point behind Arbroath. Greenock Morton Table - Football - BBC Sport Morton table(s) on 2021-12-21 (fitbastats.com) If he were to repeat that form next season you'd be in the play-offs at least and possibly much better. It was said in jest but never say never...... ***************** PS - fitbastats is an interesting little site as, amongst other things, you can find your teams position on the day you were born - Saints were 14th out of 18 teams in the old First Division on my birthday.
  14. Not at all, we're already tapping up Doug Imrie for our Championship campaign....
  15. I'm less bothered than most by your Eeyore posts as I reckon they offer you some sort of catharsis, supporting a diddy club we probably all need that sometimes, but there is a difference between your posts and other guys who try to put a balanced spin on it at times.
  16. As FTOF & Sergie have said we're 10th because we've been mediocre for the bulk of the season. What will hopefully work in our favour is the fact that we're clearly in the Fakes sights so there is absolutely no room for complacency.
  17. If 15% of Tory MPs can't bring themselves to send in letters to force a leadership contest then that says it all about them. What mystifies me is why Johnson is still seen as an electoral asset, unless it's a 5D chess strategy to dump him after a poor set of election results in May saying "you gave your verdict and we listened to you" however I think this is giving them too much credit. Much more likely is that they're more interested where their next bung is coming from.
  18. We can only hope this is the case, seems to have the appropriate qualifications and experience for the job, in the gutter but as always looking at the stars....
  19. Hibs were only 4 pts. clear of Partick at the split that season - 8 points will be enough. St Mirren table(s) on 2014-04-17 (fitbastats.com)
