  1. Looking around there are four medium sized clubs likely to change their managers soon Dundee, Dunfermline, Raith & yourselves - if Brown's serious about coaching he's bound to end up at one of them. Problem is he'll probably want an experienced No. 2 - and the combo will be expensive.
  2. Apparently Aberdeen released some guy from his contract this week who's looking to start his coaching career - can't quite remember his name.
  3. Don't think Windies will be too keen to chase 4 runs an over unless they get through the first 20 overs without losing a wicket and 70 overs seems too few for England to bowl them out on this pitch, even on Day 5. It'll take a special performance for either side to win, either a batting disaster for Windies or Wood getting 15 overs at his peak - is Wood even available? According to cricinfo Actually with Wood out and Stokes not fully fit fair doos to Root for even thinking about it........
  4. Once the initial zip went out of the pitch it's been slow and well in the batsman's favour, England restricting the Windies to less than 400 should probably be rated a decent performance - can't see anything but a draw from here.
  5. Windies edge into first Innings lead, good comeback from 127/4 at Tea yesterday to 322/7 today including a century for Bonner. Edit - That's Windies lead just gone past 50, with less than 10 overs to go I reckon they'll look to bat out the day. Edit 2 - I think today would exemplify everything many people feel about Test cricket, both positive and negative - 171/5. A T20 Innings spread over 90.1 overs - yet somehow quite satisfying to follow.
  6. Yup, like I said elsewhere, 2 cup games against lower league opposition and 4/5 games against league teams all with their own issues - I didn't want Handsome Jim to go but I do feel that was prob'ly his peak commercial value.
  7. It's called money laundering & IIRC Andy Pandy has form for it...
  8. He's got no profile down south so would be restricted to Scottish football - a repacement for Sutton or Hartson for OF games or maybe some OF bantz with Kris Boyd on the Beeb. If you're minted from your playing career I'd reckon punditry is the better option.
  9. Might be better for us in terms of focussing on Saturday's cup game, but on balance I'd prefer to get it out of the way tonigt.
  10. The fishul story is that the settlement will be funded by his mum & bro but the RFs finances are murky and my opinion is the money will be stuck somewhere as expenses and will eventually be paid for with public funds - otherwise why block a parliamentary investigation into the issue?
  11. Who's gonna be the lucky team to get him as their coach?
  12. Meet the old boss, same as the new boss...
  13. Aberdeen took our Assistant Manager too, so Brown is surplus to managerial requirements up there and while Goodwin has been diplomatic about there still being a pace for Brown on the playing side the I reckon he'll be glad to see Brown go. The questions is would you want to appoint Brown as his only managerial experience is being No.2 in a partnership that lasted less than a season? Still no doubt his friends in the media will say you are being blessed with the opportunity to bask in his warm glow, IIRC Steven Naismith is at a similar loose end....
  14. That's a different argument, I was responding to your quote saying "And this is exactly the kind of in-fighting pish you never hear from the Tories." I maintain that the you heard "in fighting pish" over EU membership from the Tories for most of the period from the mid 90s till 2019.
  15. The Tories spent 20-odd years from the mid-90s tearing themselves apart over Europe and were out of power for 13 years and 3 GEs, it took a global economic collapse and the second most lacklustre PM in history (Brown behind May) for them to form a minority government after the 2010 GE. A near total collapse of the Lib-Dems in 2015/17 due to them selling out their principles secured another 4 years while the Tories remained split over Europe. It wasn't until 2019 when the party coalesced behind Johnson that a fatigued electorate decided to embrace his "oven ready" plan which most folk knew wasn't really "oven ready" and was gonna turn out to be pretty meh that the Tories started to look more unified than Labour.
  16. Like I said on P1 there's a reason why we're 10 pts. above Dundee - we're the better team. We just have to focus on this and I'm sure we will get at least a draw.
  17. My favourite moment is the look on Dickie Bird's face.....
  18. Maybe I'm just an old fashioned sorta guy but I reckon that's how football should be played....
  19. How the f**k can you make an arse of his name that badly It was a tribute to ZingaliMan...
  20. It's going to be a slog till May if Robeson continues with the current tactics - nobody knows the troubles we'll see.
