  1. Blackford's background is in banking and he's best when commenting on the dry technical matters of this field - he's not best suited for the bearpit of PMQs. I feel Tommy Sheppard would be far more effective at PMQs.
  2. So Motherwell aside bet365 are going with the current league table - controversial!
  3. I wouldn't be sure a letter to a national newspaper can be explained away as "misremembering" but I suppose that's the business of lawyers. ****************** On the decision to make it a jury trial I don't see how it can be anything but bad news for the Prince, a judge would have limited himself what can be proven factual in what essentially boils down to a he said/she said argument whereas IMO a jury is more likely to plump for who they consider to be the more sympathetic character which makes the Prince toast.
  4. According to The Grauniad article the Prince met Epstein in 1999 which doesn't tally with what his secretary said to the Times in 2011 It's little inconsistencies like that which might make a lesser man sweat...
  5. West Indies post a huge 224-5 @ Kensington Oval, Barbados... Target looking possible @ 60-1 (5.2 Overs) 107-4 (11.1 Overs) target starting to slip away - unless Banton can bat through... ...and Banton goes for 73 (129-5 off 12.3 Overs)
  6. I hear you're a misogynist & racist now, Doug - UUP leader "deeply ashamed" as historical tweets emerge... Ulster Unionist leader ‘deeply ashamed’ over ‘horrific’ tweets | Northern Ireland | The Guardian
  7. So that'll be a no to the tax increases that would be required to fund the policies you pretend to espouse!
  8. Meaningless waffle unless you've changed your view on the increased taxation that would be needed to fund these sorta policies, which IIRC you referred to ludicrous/unacceptable or similar at the last GE.
  9. According to The Grauniad the Met would be happy for Grey to publish her finding it's the government who have decided to put it on hold!
  10. Does the met investigating the parties now mean that the Sue Gray report is paused? Just as she was about to report!
  11. Do we hate Alan Main? I always blamed Paul Hartley whose sending off turned the game against Dundee Utd.
  12. A guy who bought his peerage through donations to the Tory party doesn't exactly scream integrity but I s'pose it's another nail in BJs coffin!
  13. It'd be an amazing turnaround if MacPherson ever generates any sell-on revenue. It seems our nose has been put out by the way we found out about the deal so we've callled him back in an attempt to squeeze a few extra pennies from the Fakes. Feel a bit sorry for CM who going by Goodwin's comments will still not actually be in our first team plans, it's been a bit of a strange situation allround, all this fuss over a player who's Bottom6 level at best - hope it works out in Saints and MacPherson's favour.
  14. Our 3-0 defeat to Clydebank in 88 might rival it!
  15. Near perfect cup scenario for us, we scored early, were 2 up before half time and were able to play the game out well within ourselves. Only one criticism, that we were a bit sloppy second half - a third goal and everyone could have left to get back to the pub! As ever Ayr is a great away day - best o luck for the rest of the season lads! Edit - See the Beeb are reporting the match attendance as 342 (missed a zero?) - I demand my licence fee back!
  16. But a favourite son outranks a jug-eared hippy wierdo!
  17. One of the funnier things about PA being deroyaled is the briefings being deployed against him, after the story about him & his teddybears comes another about him & Chuck (who doesn't come out of it looking good either!) having a dispute about who had dibs on a bathroom at Sandringham which had to be sorted by their mum - remember this is a dispute between two groan men...
  18. ....and now Lewdle! Lewdle - A daily lewd word game (lewdlegame.com) Lewdle 02 6/6
  19. Pork barrell politix - refreshingly oldskool move by Boris. Funny how it always comes down to pigs with these Eton oldboys...
  20. All the more reason to walk away from the situation ASAP....
  21. He might look at the scrapping of Covid restrictions in England in March as a chance to walk away saying "Brexit completed, Covid defeated!", all the Tory ministers I've seen have been boostering "his magnificent handling of the pandemic above the trivialty of that party" over the last few days. If he can get Sue Grey to avoid directly censuring him there might be a short window where he can walk away "a winner" with most of the Tory party saying what a great PM he has been and onto the after dinner speaking circuit, book deals and a coupla lucrative company directorships.
  22. Theresa May was a dead (wo)man walking for about two years after the 2017 GE and there was a lot of hokey-cokey with letters to the 1922 committee (including a red-face moment for JRM* when he thought they had the numbers to force a ballot but didn't) before she finally faced a vote which she won - it didn't save her for long though as she resigned after a coupla bad elections results about 6 months later. * The same JRM who reckons DRoss should be loyal to his party leader.
