  1. The last 20 minutes of the game where we were trying to get the ball into the box was some of the most frustrating football I can remember in a long time. It was like the whole team had forgotten how to lift the ball more than 3 feet off the ground. Weak, underhit nonsense attempts over and over and over again. Raith won’t have to do less to win a game this season. One decent cross into the box, sit around watching us huff and puff ourselves to nothing and back up the road with three points. Fair play.
  2. He's reliable enough. Nothing special, but a decent enough starter. I'd have kept him at the salary you guys gave him, but also not too bothered we're going in another direction on the right side of the line. He also talks a lot on social media.
  3. 16 months after they rejected two 1sts & a 2nd from the Rams.
  4. Makes sense. Cousins getting the big bucks again. The guy has made a stupid amount of money in his career.
  5. Delighted with the Wilkins signing. Yeah, it's a steep price, but we had the cap room and have needed a top DT for what feels like 30 years. Josh Jacobs signing for the Packers is a surprise. Not particularly with him leaving he Raiders, which I think has always been on the cards, but the fact the Packers are now going to be paying both him and Aaron Jones decent cash at the RB position. I like Jacobs but ultimately not fussed he's gone.
  6. PT haven’t won in the last 7 league games and haven’t moved a position in the standings the entire time. It’s a very stupid league.
  7. I’d say he’s been pretty good but has had a few lapses in concentration and strange moments. Definitely wouldn’t classify anything he’s done for us this season as brilliant. I agree that he’s got a promising career ahead of him, almost certainly at a higher level than the Scottish Championship.
  8. Munn’s has been open 95%+ of the time for the past few years. It was only closed for a couple of weeks last season due to some issue with the electricity. I’m guessing that period must have fallen during a home game vs Raith. But aye, it’ll be fine for Tuesday night if you fancy sampling the wild plains of Munn’s Vaults pre-match on Tuesday.
  9. Can’t disagree with much of your post, but I do disagree with the bolded. I thought Lawless was terrible today; arguably the worst player on the park. Gave the ball away repeatedly, including a couple of times which directly involved QP hitting us on the counter attack. One of his poorest performances of the season imo. Agreed that the ref was shit, which Thistle probably benefitted from - but ultimately I think he was going to be shit regardless and it could easily have gone the other way. On the basis of chances created a draw was probably the fair result. From a Jags POV, I hope Adeloye is alright. He was yet again a positive impact before he injured himself falling over. A very good striker at this level who we will rely upon later in the season.
  10. An obvious end game to their expansion, unless they decide to go to 20 somewhere down the line - but that seems unlikely to get past the NFLPA as a suggestion. Adding a 2nd bye week in addition to the 18th game will also allow the NFL to expand the season by two weeks. Much more money for all involved, so would expect to see this happen in the next few years.
  11. We don’t really do nils, for either side. 19 of our 26 league games have had both teams score. And particularly recently, we are scoring and conceding a stupid number of goals.
  12. The draw was probably a fair result today. We were in control in the first half, but gradually began to sit deeper and deeper as United got a foothold on the game in the second half. Not convinced by the late United shout for a penalty, mainly because Scott Robinson was clearly hauled to the ground right before it, meaning it should have been a PT free kick anyway. From a Jags POV, Mitchell is miles better than Stewart, McBeth is slowly turning into a very reliable player at this level, and Robinson is just a very good football player when he’s not injured. After a few weeks of miserable performances across the board, I can’t really criticise anyone today. United flattered to deceive for all the high priced talent they had on the park. A special shout out to Declan Gallagher for a thoroughly dreadful performance; the guy looked like he’d never kicked a football before. Ultimately still a very talented squad who will most likely win the league, though, despite having a clearly incapable manager. No complaints at all about our performance or the result.
  13. "Almost" bottling something isn't a fact. Maybe we will bottle a 10 point lead, maybe we won't. What is a fact, however, is that Greenock Morton were 8 points clear of Partick Thistle in 2012/13 and ended up finishing 11 points behind them. What is also a fact is that Greenock Morton were 12 points clear of the Second Division in 2003/04 and ended up finishing 11 points behind eventual winners Airdrie. It's cute that Greenock fans feel the need to jump into all Thistle threads posting about bottle jobs, but it does suggest a staggering lack of self-awareness.
  14. A Morton fan talking about points gaps. A delicious irony.
  15. If Ross Stewart starts this game, I'm staying in the pub. With our rotation of terrible goalkeepers, a pair of CBs that look like they've forgotten how to play football and the fact we're coming up against a team who have absolutely scudded us twice this already this season, does not make Saturday at Firhill a very appealing prospect.
  16. He had a slipped disc apparently, but has been back on the bench for a while. His agent also crticised Doolan over the Dowds situation, so there's always been an element of wonder around just how much of Mitchell not starting games is actually injury-related.
  17. 4th game in a row where we've conceded 3 goals. Well, at least 3 goals on this occasion. Because there's a very good chance that Ayr will score again. Shite defending, shite goalkeeping. Embarrassing.
  18. They're about to get promoted, though. So maybe we should all just get relegated instead.
  19. Adeloye’s strike rate in terms of goals per minute is the best in the division (or at least it was a couple of weeks back when I saw the stat). You can look at Dowds with 9 in 19 and Adeloye with 6 in 19, but Adeloye has scored those goals in substitute appearances; far fewer minutes on the pitch than Dowds. He’s just unlucky to be stuck behind Brian Graham or his goal tally would look much better imo. I get the laziness point, which I think is the one drawback with Tomi. It might not be true, but it just looks like he’s playing the game in a huff. I think in terms of natural ability though he’s one of the best strikers in the league, though, and if he wasn’t stuck behind a guy as good as Graham then he’d get to show it. I’m not anti-Dowds either, btw. Thought he started off well for us, and again was just unfortunate to never really get a run of starts due to Graham. Wasn’t showing much from the bench and then of course his arsehole of an agent got involved and the rest is history. Glad to see him doing well for Ayr and also pleased he won’t be able to play against us on Tuesday.
  20. Neilson had a few good games a couple of months back and seems to have bought into his own hype a bit since then. Constantly trying to dribble out from the back or play passes that aren't on. Add into that the odd defensive howler which you should probably always expect from a player his age, and he's a bit of a liability at present. Muirhead (whether through injury or just plain decline due to age) isn't able to cover for his mistakes either, so between the two of them we're just a bit of a mess at CB right now. McBeth clearly has something about him. He's got that presence that we've really missed in the DM spot, and he keeps the ball pretty well. His main drawback is that he appears to be miles off the pace required for this level - which I suppose makes some sense given he was at Glenafton only a couple of months back. The difference in the pace and intensity of a game in the 2nd tier compared to the 6th is massive. When he gets up to speed with full time football he looks like he could be a very decent player at this level.
