  1. I thought we played OK today overall, especially give we were missing several first choices as Waspie has pointed out. First half there was nothing in it. Second we looked too open at the back the longer the game went on. Maybe that was partly down to changes, but also as Dunfermline upped their game and started to find space down the flanks and behind our centre backs, running out comfortable winners. (I've been at all four league games between the sides and also went to the last Pars v Bairns game. In none of those did I come away raving about this Dunfermline team and, yet, they won all five games with an aggregate score of 10 zip. They are very solid and very competent, with more flair than is obviously apparent. I think they'll do well next season.) Classic Chipper IMO when Stanger came on at half-time but was put on the left of the back three when he's always on the right, leaving Durnan, who has been featuring often on the right on the left. Devine back in contention is a big plus IMO. Adam King and Coulson did OK, without suggesting they should start on Tuesday. Cammy O'Donnell did well too.
  2. Bet you never thought you'd type that sentence! He also posted a ride of what I assume is the finishing circuit in Glasgow, although looks like he was on a leisure bike when he did it.
  3. https://www.strava.com/activities/9014058271?utm_source=com.google.android.gm&utm_medium=referral WvA checking out the Worlds ITT route yesterday. Picked up a couple of KoMs near Kippen.
  4. What does that even mean?
  5. You'd never guess that's Luca's Dad.
  6. Classy from Selby too, as expected.
  7. Well played, Luca. A star is born!
  8. I reckon there's still a couple of twists to come. White's my all time favourite player. Watching him losing all those finals was torture, only made bearable as it was usually Hendry beating him.
  9. Can't beat a tense world snooker final. Brilliant! ETA That's some fluke from the Jester.
  10. Selby just isn't playing well enough to win this at the moment. Of course part of the reason for that is Brecel is scoring heavily and keeping him in his chair. Still a long way to go and none of us would put it past Mark to claw his way close enough for the pressure to adversely impact Luca. Great watch!
  11. I'd expect someone to offer him a full-time deal and I hope they do. Clearly a talented footballer who will surely improve further and get stronger. Seems to also have a good attitude.
  12. Cawley's touch for his goal looks even better in the highlights.
  13. Indeed. Clearly there's the option of starting with a strong team, minus anyone carrying an injury, then taking off five key players after 50 to 60 minutes. Or, conversely starting with several fringe players but changing that if/when required. With the final Championship games on the Friday night, at least we'll know who we are playing and whether Doyley will be available or whether we need to give wee Kev some more practice at right back.
  14. Will be interesting to see how we (and Dunfermline) approach the game. We have several players out injured and a couple who are carrying knocks. I expect we'll put out a weakish team and bring in a handful of reserves. No idea how it will go.
  15. Personally, I'm quite comfortable with that.
  16. Agree with this. Probably Miller's best game in an Alloa shirt, took on a leader's role in midfield. Also, amazing how good wee Kev can be when played in his best position, i.e. linking play and attacking through the middle, who'd have thought it? No failures in the starting eleven plus Durnan, defence was solid and determined, Doyley was excellent as he has been and both Sammon and McIver had good games. Strachan did well too and I hope he's OK otherwise we might not have a left back available for the playoffs. Clearly we need a few of those injured fit for then to have a genuine chance. I'm just about to open a nice bottle of Rioja and toast Brian Rice, his staff and the players for getting us into a playoff spot. We'll done all!
  17. Fascinating stuff, hopefully goes to the wire.
  18. Complete Control - The Clash Holidays in the Sun - Sex Pistols (all of the four classic Pistols singles have brilliant intros, could have chosen any of them) Identity - X-Ray Spex Holiday in Cambodia - Dead Kennedys Jigsaw Feeling - Siouxsie & the Banshees also, as the sergeant said, could easily be another five.
  19. I love watching Selby play. Would like to see Higgins come back into it and be a tight finish, has the makings of a classic. Would like to see either of those two wins, but happy with any of the players left.
  20. It's like when England get pumped out of the World Cup, can now properly enjoy the rest of the tournament.
  21. A quote from my favourite Marx Bros film Duk Soup.
