  1. It's not a red card IMO. Yellow was the correct decision. If it hadn't been Celtic we would have heard very little about it from pundits or on social media, which is what is driving the discussion/hysteria. I wouldn't pay ANY attention to what pundits say on pretty much any refereeing decision, they have agendas, but more importantly have no clue. Watching tackles in slow motion confuses the issue IMO and often makes a tackle look worse than it is.
  2. Pretty much this. It was good to see Celtic's quality up close and we rode our luck a few times, but we were well organised and committed. As you say, if we get to the break only one down or Sammon scores then who knows. Trouten and Scougall showed their class when they came on and it was a lovely goal. Those two and Robbo have to start when fit. Barry F needs to find a way of fitting them in (and not at fullback). Big Sena was tremendous.
  3. It's almost like sacking Jack Ross and replacing him with an unproven, Cathro-like managerial novice was an unfathomably stupid decision.
  4. Henderson on the bench for Hearts tonight, but didn't get on.
  5. I can understand the frustration with the team this year, the reasons have been highlighted a number of times by several posters, but I can never get my head round shouting abuse or criticism at the players, management or whoever during a game. It's only going to have a negative effect on the team's performance. Having said that neither should players or management be reacting to it and Paddy probably regrets doing what he did. Is there any evidence he was "sent" over to confront some fans? Or is that a baseless claim some have made up? I actually thought over the piece we were OK on Saturday. Despite their recent poor form, Queen's are a good side with good players. Once again it suited us more to play a quality side and try and hit them on the break. That's fine to an extent of course, but we definitely need to be more effective against the weaker teams in the division. I'll be interested to see what Barry F comes up with formation and personnel wise against Celtic. Hopefully he gets that right and we do ourselves credit. I'd certainly start Sammon, probably bench Henderson and get Robbo and Scougal in the starting eleven, at the expense of two of King, Howie and Sena.
  6. Daily Record reporting that Alloa have signed P&B poster "Left Back". Manager Ferguson commented: "I want competition for the number three Jersey."
  7. Anytime I've heard him speak he sounds pretty clueless.
  8. Left Back clearly isn't particularly clever.
  9. If you really believe that, then you are completely missing the points he is making.
  10. Heard, unfortunately didn't see, a Water Rail in the reeds at the wooden walkway between the Helix pond and Kelpies this afternoon. It was near the gap in the reeds about half way along. Guy there had seen it pop out of the reeds and appear in view a few times; he'd tried to take a picture, but it had been too quick.
  11. I have a deal of sympathy with your view, but I think he will still be manager during January at least.
  12. Maybe they are going to have a minute's applause on eighty minutes or his shirt number minutes at Falkirk (ten minutes?) at the next home game.
  13. FFS that would reduce the Falkirk FC thread to less than fifty pages.
  14. I think the club will give Barry F several more weeks at least, in particular I think they will give him the January transfer window to bring in a couple of players and see it that improves things results wise. I think that is a fairly reasonable thing to do, but I'm well aware that there is a very real danger of finishing ninth or tenth if things don't improve.
  15. A fair question and I don't know the answer. All I would say is that Mike has shown himself to be very shrewd with the way he has managed Alloa Athletic as a business since he took control. He's a very smart operator and also very ruthless when he has to be. He doesn't do anything just to placate the fans - if it doesn't appear to him to be the decision for the club, then he won't do it. Sometimes I've disagreed strongly with his decisions, but there you go.
  16. In terms of the actual game, we'll who knows what we'll get. Clearly both sides are particularly sh*te at the moment, but IMO both squads are better than their form would suggest. Of course, I can back up that view better for Alloa, having seen the Bairns only twice live. Having watched those two games and heard Falkirk fans' views, they seem to be primarily short of two good centres (one forward and one back). At least Falkirk now have some hope with a new coaching team, good appointments IMO, but of course that remains to be seen. I never like to stage off our manager, especially when he's still in the job, but as many have pointed out, BF really doesn't seem to be any good and I don't believe the club will punt him in the short term.
  17. Mike M and the board have clearly looked at the overall situation relative to attending in person numbers and pricing plus numbers of fans paying for streams and decided to make the cost of both types of "consumption" £18. Yes it's to maximise revenue, but that's not greed, it's just good business (if they are right of course). As LeodhasXD says above, Mike doesn't want the stream option to compete with fans attending games. Apparently Leanne Dempster is of a similar view (again per LeodhasXD). Now, I'm not privy to the details of their thinking, but, having a finance in business career, I can well imagine where they are coming from. I can well understand fans who can't make our games, and clearly that will be many more than normal on Sundayl, being p*ssed at the price. If I was in their shoes I'd undoubtedly feel the same way. That doesn't make the price wrong from the club's perspective.
