  1. You'll never know now, mate and I'll bet it was hilarious.
  2. Will be interesting to see how he does there and what his programme for next year looks like.
  3. Last year after sixteen league games we had twelve points. This year we have two points more. Our goal difference is one worse. Yes, we need to strengthen, but let's keep things in perspective.
  4. Indeed. Amazing how many fans don't understand that.
  5. It's not a penalty IMO (or in the opinion of the ref, who was well placed to give that opinion and is, of course far more qualified to decide than anyone on here who has claimed it was). Yes, there's contact, but there isn't enough force from the defender. It also isn't careless, which is another key word/factor in deciding whether a foul was committed.
  6. Excellent highlights as always. We'll play a lot worse and win. I like that team line up. That's not a penalty on Trouten.
  7. Tough evening for the players. We were OK first half and it's a pity Dario squeezed in the equaliser when he did as I thought we were reasonably comfortable, although Partick should certainly have been ahead before Trouts nicked one - missing two very good chances. Second half we were pushed back for the whole ninety minutes. Partick didn't create many good openings, but they put plenty decent crosses into the box. As mentioned MacDonald had a top save from a free kick. Not sure what the reason or reasons were for the second half, but we just couldn't either hold onto the ball or get up the pitch (Thomson got no change out of either centre back second 45 minutes). Tiredness may have been a factor and we were certainly short on genuine first team players. Not sure we need many in though. Three players to come back in when fit and IMO it's more a case of quality than quantity - it's up front where we are a bit lacking. I though Thistle played pretty well. Never quite get the criticism of Cardle - always looks a quality player to me. Very good point though and credit to the players for digging in and their determination not to lose. Both things we can be sure they will give when required.
  8. Can someone PM me the statistical paper on Alloa's midweek results versus weekend results that's kicking about? Plus the one that analyses part-time teams record against full-timers by day of the week? Ta.
  9. I've no doubt this is all true. [emoji5]
  10. Can someone hide this from the Falkirk fans? Please! [emoji54]
  11. Pretty clear penalty IMO (a careless, even reckless challenge on O'Hara), despite the uninformed views of Crawford and Nisbet claiming otherwise. The super slo-mo in the Dunfermline highlights are a bit bizarre and rather than clarifying possible penalty incidents merely confuse the issue.
  12. Agree with this. Thomson looked like he was determined to grab his chance and showed how important he could be if he maintains fitness and that attitude. Robbo was excellent, probably myMotM, although there were several candidates for that. He seemed to relish being back in centre midfield. I agree he should start there even when Stevie H is available. Get them both in there beside Flanny, Kev and Trouts. A really good win and three points. Despite the knee jerk reactions from the usual suspects after two defeats in a row, the team has been playing well, playing a lot of good football and with a great attitude. ETA Blair Malcom did pretty well at left back.
  13. Not sure if it was a diamond we started with last night, second half was more of a flat four in midfield I thought with Trouts on the right, but he was coming inside a lot and getting involved in the play allowing Taggs to get forward. Reason we lost wasn't the formation, Dundee were just too good imo, played with pace and power. They never let us settle into our passing game (McGowan was right on top of Flanny any time we tried to play the ball out from the back). You could make a case that all three goals, especially the second, were poor defensively, but we didn't deserve anything from the game. I actually thought we played pretty well, just beaten by a good team on the night. I have some sympathy with the view we could have brought Thomson on as for much of the second half we were getting plenty decent crosses into the box and had no height there, but Buchs and O'Hara were doing OK generally. Clearly though we are short of options from the bench. Dundee looked a much improved outfit from the game at Dens. Hemmings was a handful and Dorrans gave them real quality in midfield.
  14. Don't know what the stats are, but you can't beat a good win under the floodlights. Been some memorable games over the years.
  15. Really looking forward to this one. On our recent form we can take something from the game. Big decision for the manager is who drops out from the twelve players who played Saturday. Buchs did really well when he came on and O'Hara was a bigger threat too after that change. Likely we'll go with wee Kev on the bench I think; Adam Brown is doing well enough to keep his place just now.
  16. Had our two wee granddaughters (4 and 2) sleep over on Saturday then took them to the baths on Sunday. Brilliant fun. So fascinating watch them develop and iteract with each other. Older one informed us she was the "boss of" the wee one. [emoji4] Also, I was Dad substitute so I got all the physical stuff. Mrs and I both crashed out when we got home from dropping them off. [emoji23]
  17. If Trouten was in possession running in on goal into my eighteen yard box, I think I'd be expecting a shot tbh.
