  1. Mrrrrhm. Had a brief experience in the middle east and anti-semitism is very, very much rampant, was striking. Any references to Israel and parts of the Jewish faith is literally blacked out of school textbooks, ethnic slurs during parliament etc. Im not jewish personally but i suspect that might lead to some awkward questions for people taking saudi megabux. Edit: aye, this stuff https://www.thejc.com/news/news/police-in-kuwait-shut-down-shop-selling-magen-david-necklaces-1lghWRXEOSQrjkAZ35m7HE Or a saudi specific example: https://nes.princeton.edu/publications/west-christians-and-jews-saudi-arabian-schoolbooks
  2. ive made this joke before, but its the tried and true PES Master League transfer strategy. It works. Flashbacks to Nakata, Park Chu Young et all tearing it up for me
  3. Cheers everyone for the answers. Oh the app rings a bell! That launched under J. Low and covid? think that's why ive not bothered with it if so, will have a look on my phone for it to see if i can set one up that way and scan through on my phone
  4. Daft question that i could probably check with the club tbf, but i paid for a season ticket (new) at the start of the month after payday and just wonder if anyone here has already received theirs if buying new - How long roughly will it take to arrive? Im assuming ST sales are healthy so perhaps a bit of a backlog. Got time til the new season anyway but ill call the club end of next week if ive not got it to see if its in the post.
  5. Look, I used to enjoy tucking into noodles (especially good old pot noodle's on Ford Super Sunday with a hangover after a Carlsberg sesh the night before; if Carlsberg did Ford Super Sundays with Pot Noodles with a hangover after a Carlsberg sesh the night before, they'd probably be the best Carlsberg Ford Sesh Super Sunday Pot Noodles in the world) as much as the next man, but rice and noodles after coronavirus? It's just good old British chips for me I'm afraid.
  6. cheers for flagging up. checked mine (mk7 astra, think PSA owned vauxhall by the time they started getting made but might be the mk8) and its a timing chain rather than a belt.
  7. Have gone back and edited, do you know after looking on the text commentary on the official site I think it might have been Tiffoney I was thinking of Did check and Fitzpatrick set up the goal for Graham from the left at least so I got that right.
  8. idk if this is a recency bias, but if you offered me a straight choice between keeping one of Tiffoney or Fitzpatrick then I'd have picked Fitzpatrick out of the two. Very, very pleased he's staying - would guess he's not a million miles away from a testimonial since he's had two spells with us? Think Fitzpatrick has shown remarkable improvement as a left sided attacker, imo he's noticeably a lot more comfortable with his left foot and set up a few goals with it. Its maybe as simple as that Football Manager thing of him now having enough minutes there to have gone from a competent left winger to a natural one. Also means he can either go out onto his left or cut inside, theoretically also can play him as an outright winger down the right if we need to. At least I've always assumed he was right footed but maybe he is in fact left footed and its just not as noticeable as, say, Lawless! I'm convinced he takes set pieces with his right... He absolutely annihilated Ayr at Firhill in the first half of the playoff game, if he's up against a poor enough full back (and there'll be a few in the league) then he'll roast them for fun.
  9. ive always had it spelled in my head as bolshy rather than baulchy. dont often have cause to use it in written text tbf. i am intrigued and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. thank you.
  10. #saturdaynightandimtipsy Don't mind morton tbh, and i quite like a few of the tommy taylor photo's of Morton vs. Thistle matches where you've got the crane in the background. Worked with a handful of folk from Greenock/Port Glasgow through the years and they've generally been right in that sweet spot (or venn diagram which tbf might fit better) of mental/sound.
  11. booo. surely going to be a penalty if his shirts ripped wide open? edit: ohh.
  12. im torn on whether i could take on the cow murderer (one of the ICT posters, can never mind the username); on the one hand they're presumably a handy b*****d, and having brutally slaughtered dozens upon dozens of bovine they're doubtless battle hardened + might think nothing of bringing out a sledgehammer to bash my skull in. on the other, all i need to do is go "mooo" and there's a chance they become a ptsd induced quivering wreck who could be comfortably dispatched.
  13. Turner's exceptional for this level but I'm straw clutching that his frame (hopefully) puts off a few top flight Gordon Strachanesque managers that just fantasise about having 6'6 genetic monster freaks stomping about in their midfield, showing pashun and making bone crunching challenges from which they can make their customary post match ogre stew. edit: just saw that season tickets are out, Β£330 doesn't seem outrageous for a non-renewal adult, generally been PATG the past few seasons through working weekends/general apathy. probably grab one at the end of the month once i gets paids
  14. at a guess we'll end up doing similar when we had to pay HMRC a few years back and sold off Twaddle and Harkins to raise circa Β£200k. Fitzpatrick, McMillan, Milne could fetch reasonable 5 figure fees imo. Will be a bit shite, but hopefully we'll rally round and rebuild. It Can Be Done! Fantasy scenario is Doolan turns out to be a miracle worker and scrambles together an island of misfit toys good enough to give us a couple of solid cup runs + still sneaks us into fourth. Reality is more likely a season like Hamilton just had.
  15. fucks sake. Will give Doolan a bit more of a grace period/leeway. Feel a bit for younger players like Zander McKenzie who's looked decent enough when he's came on but might not be ready to start regularly. Hopefully not so bad that we struggle to even start next season, I don't think its implied as a likelihood, more that we're gonna have to cut the cloth to fit the cadaver...
  16. kind of, but: 1 Dundee - Replaced by Dundee Utd, can almost view as like-for-like. If they get their shit together they should skoosh it. 2 Ayr - Decent enough side, and Dipo Akinyemi would indicate they can pull a rabbit out of the hat from time to time with whatever they're doing with their recruitment (going back a wee bit, Stephen Kelly was great for them, Alan Forrest etc. etc. and McGinty looks decent enough for this level these days imo). I rate Bullen as being one of the better managers in the league. 3 Queen's Park - were newly promoted and beat us handily most of the time last season. Out of form by the time the playoffs came about, Coyle leaving could go either way, tbf. 4 Partick Thistle Doolan's done well, getting Milne back fit will be great as he's not really been avaliable for Doolan to select afaik, but suspect a high turnover over players is likely. Financial Budgety Type Considerationy Things is in vogue post-Low. Guys like Fitzpatrick have progressed really well, would be great to get McAvoy back on a loan if Fulham are willing. Would be happy with 3rd place and a higher points total, tbh under him we look more willing to throw players into the box so hopefully we get a good few goals in our favour next season. No runs of conceding daft set pieces etc. and maybe we've got a shot. 5 Morton Imrie generally done well afaik, only just finished behind us. 6 Inverness CT Off the back of a cup final. 7 Raith Rovers I don't know, really. *shrug* 8 Arbroath Have previous for being a pain in the arse to play against, would expect them to be similar next time out but they had a good effort at the title not too long ago themselves. 9 Hamilton Replaced by Airdrie, don't know much about what they'll be like. 10 Cove Rangers Replaced by Dunfermline, took us to ET last season and should be a tough team to beat. Bizarrely given our record against Cove we might fare better against them, but they could conceivably (on name alone tbf) have a strong first season back in the championship.
  17. yeah, there's been plenty of bottle crashes/bed shitting stories across Scottish football. Great when its happening to someone else, even better when its in your favour (Falkirk falling away to let us beat them to promotion) but utter shite when you're on the wrong end of it. Warning signs were there with the Queens Park playoff game where they pulled it back to 3-3 (but ultimately got away with it with a last minute winner and scudding them in the 2nd leg) and the Cove game was piss poor letting them back to 2-2 from two up. There was always that nagging wee doubt that we were overdue for a high profile banter result. on the face of it its better than getting comfortably papped out by Inverness last time out, but it doesn't feel like it. Doolan comes away with a fair amount of credit, as do most of the players.
  18. well. that was shite. struggling to think of a worse game in the last 20 years. Hopefully Doolan is good at the recruitment side of things, but im fairly sure we're in for much of the same next season. Bannigan had an absolute nightmare. Culpable at one of the County goals, skies a sitter, fucks his penalty against the post. editing: felt a bit bad singling banzo out as he's not fully fit, but... fnhhgfhgfhgf. It's a tough one to take.
  19. EXCLUSIVE: malky mackay's player ratings - "Go on, fat Brownlie. Nothing like a centre half that strolls through football matches and wins just about everything.” – On central defender Darren Brownlie. "He's a snake, a skillful snake. Not to be trusted. Or left to cut inside onto his left foot.” – Referring to Steven Lawless "Fkn gingers.” β€œFk it. There’s enough dogs in Dingwall for us all to go around.” – Referring to Simon Murray's impotent cameo and grotesque features
