  1. No chance. Sheerin was nowhere near good enough. Rennie isn't outperforming him so far.
  2. Also we scored direct from a corner two games ago against Peterhead when Griffiths was eating snowballs on the bench
  3. If you watched Griffiths last week and thought he was the only reason we didn't get beat then I don't know what to say to you.
  4. Split Griffiths rumoured wage in two and we could have got an alternative striker on loan (Alegria from Rangers or Jakubiak from Dundee as two suggestions) and a midfielder. With the loan window running into February we had 9 weeks to sort out the middle of the park. "Difficult window" doesn't cut it for me in that sense. Thistle won the league with their January signings last season.
  5. Sheerin won 3-1 at Clyde with Goodwillie in their side. Every player aside from Ruth and McDaid who started that day is available to Rennie today, plus he's signed 6 others and has Dowds back.
  6. Took a nice walk in the sun along to Rutherglen to watch Glencairn and Largs play out a 1-1 draw. After an "attritional" first half Glencairn had most of the ball in the second half and had a few chances from set pieces and crosses into the box. Great free kick whipped in led to Glencairn taking the lead from an unfortunate defensive header leading to an own goal. Largs came back into it and got an equaliser thanks to a late penalty. Glencairn shaded it but a draw was probably about fair. I'd guess the crowd was around 150-170.
  7. Our race was run in the Hibs games. Killie were all over us in the home game and we were very fortunate to get away with a clean sheet and a late goal (albeit a very well worked one) past that diddy MacDonald. We were running on fumes by the second leg and Magennis was kryptonite to the centre backs we had. The next season was an underrated Falkirk team I thought. We had some really good attacking options and strolled to second place fairly easily. We lost two horrendous goals to Dundee United in the semi final second leg which was a proper bottle job with that horror show Watson/Gasparotto centre back combo. Hamilton always get underestimated and I'm about to do it again, but I think we'd have beaten them over two legs. Sibbald was in the form of his life that season and we had a habit of scoring at least once in every game. The aforementioned centre back partnership may have ended up costing us but I'd have given us a better chance than the year before. Typical Falkirk that we peaked in those years where the Championship was impossible to win, rather than this season for example. It was the same in the top flight when we peaked when the OF, Hearts and Aberdeen were all strong and doing well in Europe. St Johnstone and Inverness for example were a couple of years behind our cycle and benefitted for it for a decade plus when Rangers went bust and the two Edinburgh clubs were a shambles.
  8. Perhaps they just feel empowered enough now after seeing the backing they'd receive versus a few weeks ago? What would they have to gain from making this "all to convenient" decision?
  9. Alloa 1-2 Airdrie Utd Clyde 1-0 Falkirk Cove 2-0 Peterhead Dumbarton 0-1 Queens Park Montrose 3-0 East Fife
  10. It's getting the excuses in early for next year in case it's another failure.
  11. It's an individual decision for every supporter but I honestly don't think I could bring myself to go and support Clyde every week even if it had been in my family for generations and had been a huge part of my life for 25+ years as Falkirk has been for me.
  12. Aye I really like Paul on the podcast but he's a mile out with this opinion consistently. I get what he's saying but think he's looking at it through too myopic a lense with his Newmains/Carluke hat on.
  13. At what stage do we stop blaming Holt and Sheerin?
  14. McGuffie causing them problems so let's shunt him back into defence
  15. That's the team selection of a manager that's scared and over-thinking it.
  16. Rennie signed six of them and chose to spend a good chunk of the budget on one of them.
  17. Sifting through these posts from @RandomGuy. and @itzdrk has me questioning what I'm doing with my time on this Earth. Thicker than a bowl of oatmeal.
  18. Dowds and Kabia are almost a goal a game each since they came into the team.
  19. Airdrie Utd 4-0 Clyde Alloa 0-2 Cove Falkirk 1-2 East Fife Peterhead 2-1 Dumbarton Queens Park 1-1 Montrose
  20. Probably carrying a knock or not getting the required service in training.
