  1. Likewise. Got in earlier for a trial but just times out now. Official AFC page is OK but won't open anything tv related
  2. Haven’t seen it yet but I was standing behind the goals at the time and there were two defenders so I thought one of them would clear it. But they were either slow to react or caught flat footed, and meanwhile the ball kept rolling out, and Fraser fairly battered it in.
  3. Only seen the Welfare 4 times this season Newky and last night was typical of a team that's down at the bottom. Thought they were the better team in the first half. Lost Arran Laidlaw after about 7 minutes and the guy Dublin-Green came on. Felt wee Fraser scored against the run of play after a great block by Mussa. Could have been 2-0 a minute later but another great stop. Deservedly level by HT after a mazy run by McKinlay. Dunbar were much improved second half although Ireland missed a great chance for WW in the first minute. Seemed to be going in but the goalie got a toe to it and it trickled wide. The 2 Jones goals were superb, the first looked a worldie. Hope to see them again as Dunbar usually have highlights? WW did have a few chances and an offside goal chalked off but like a team at the bottom, you go behind and the belief just drains away. Very little on the bench to strengthen what was already on the park. Don't know the squad but a couple of young laddies came on that didn't look like they had any experience. Kiddo named as a sub. You could hear him moaning about players not competing for the ball at 3-1 down. Surprised how good Ricky Miller was, won everything in the air. Bryan is a legend. Also no discipline problems which have dogged their season, Miller was booked for dissent though. 11 games left, can't see any light at the end of the tunnel beyond spending next year at tier 7.
  4. Had to rescue this from P7 Jay Also at Musselburgh, saw a crow drowning a Godwit
  5. Lovely shot. Climbed that one years ago, it was a mate's final Corbett. Here's one from Crail recently
  6. Dunbar Utd 3 Whitehill Welfare 1. New Countess Park last night. Includes obligatory shot with train
  7. I noticed that too... met a few of the EOS/LL regulars on the night, a couple who are on Futbology and many not. Bonnyrigg spies in attendance, WWFC committee too. A bit surprised that @tamthebam wimped out as it felt warmer than Bonnyrigg on Sunday. The pitchside barriers had ice on them at kickoff but they thawed. Don't go to Peffermill very often but a couple of winters ago I went as everything else was off. Anybody who's familiar will tell you the weather comes across the pitch towards the stand, so I stood at the opposite fence to try and get shelter from the wind and sleet. Mickey Lawson was in charge at VoL at the time, I know him from WW days. He saw me and told me to come into the dugout for shelter, and I asked what about the ref? "F**k the ref!"
  8. Hmmm - he turned out for Clyde at Caley in the Scottish in 1992, and the Caley fans were giving it that as well. Never really thought much about it till you brought it up. ”Verbal History of Scottish Football “ for this pish.
  9. You’re always being watched up there Tam. I went a couple years back when they were playing Brora - at the time it was a crucial fixture. Later on FN Jimmy Shaker was rhyming off all the different team merchandise, including somebody in a Whitehill Welfare beanie
  10. Given our impotence at home, I reckon we're back in Saudi thief territory here.
  11. I was at this one with my mate and his dad. Hibs dominated from start to finish. 90 minutes gone and Rangers win a corner on the left down at the bottom end of the famous slope. Tommy McLean floats it in and a Colin Stein header at the near post wins it.
  12. It was actually a decent game, highly competitive, a few bookings, but far too hectic with nobody showing much composure and loads of shots fired over the bar. My first 0-0 in 24 games. I was cursing that one as I had gone over 100 games before that. Anyway met a few people at the game as you always do in the EOSL. Edit - the highlight of the game was just before ht when the ball hit the ref in the nuts. He was down for ages. Don’t rub them ref, count them
  13. I was at that one too and it was given as 412. It was a decent night for it. Planning to go to Penicuik tonight and maybe Mussy tomorrow.
  14. Anybody know what happens if the league gets terminated due to covid? We reached the halfway point on Saturday and I read somewhere that the WOSL declares a champion according to who is top at that point, i.e. 50% of the fixtures played. That’s regardless of who’s on top a few games later. If our league does the same, then the second Hamilton goal has cost us the title on goal difference… …or maybe they’ll just make it up as they go along like they did last time.
  15. I also noticed a while back that the English club results are under the sub-menu of European Football but the Scottish Clubs are always under "Scottish Football".
  16. This got me wondering how many games I had seen with a >100k crowd (4, all between 1970 and 1973). It seems the last Hampden International with a 6 figure crowd was Scotland v England in 1972 (119325).The last ever game with a 6 figure crowd was the Centenary final of 1973, Rangers v Celtic, 122714. Cup final crowds took a nosedive to 76000 the year after and never really recovered.
  17. 25 years ago today... went to Borough Briggs and skelped Elgin City 3-0.
  18. Yeah when WW played the Shire the WW committee members were chatting near the tea bar, club ties and all that, and he was trying to order them back to their seats. Good job Sir Peter had called it a day by that time
  19. Stayed at the bunkhouse at the Kingshouse last weekend. For a tenner I was able to get the breakfast buffet in the hotel each day which set me up nicely. Took fucking hunners o photies so here's just 4:
  20. I genuinely feel for you Tam. Even worse than AP. What about taking over WW and playing at the San Fergie. Now there’s a real venue
  21. I forgot about this one... see when you go to Ochilview for a EOSL match and that fat orange jacketed c**t of a steward isn't there...
  22. A week late with this. Syngenta 3 Edinburgh United 1 at Ochilview in the South Challenge Cup Rd 3. Lovely sunset and moonrise
  23. Yip. I seem to remember reading something about ‘Beau Lieu’ many moons ago. Romantic Victorian pish probably. Eilean a’Bhogha in Loch Lomond, apparently ’Isle of the bow’ because of its yew trees, becomes ‘Island I Vow’. Purge needed come the revolution.
