  1. He's been really poor today.
  2. Currently 75 players under par at The Renaissance Club, even with some fairly poor weather forecast for tomorrow it's going to be tough for anyone who is 2 or 3 over to make the cut.
  3. But his ball stuck right near the top of the biggest mound, he wasn't wide of it.
  4. All too easy for Alcaraz with a straight sets win.
  5. Iirc his shot wasn't actually that wide, but it was when he took a penalty drop and went back on the line he had he ended up in between two trucks on the driving range, then got free relief to move it sideways from there. Would agree that the range area should have been OB though.
  6. Looks like Eubanks has run out of steam now, double break down in the 5th.
  7. Iirc they are building a new locker room underground?
  8. Saw this from Richie Ramsay, used to be a staple for our family on holiday to have a go at Pitch and Putt. Plenty of places we went like Morecambe and Scarborough no longer have their courses, while Glasgow had them in several public parks but they are now all gone. Hardly even a putting green left anywhere.
  9. La Liga making the SFA/SPFL look competent......
  10. I changed from a set of TaylorMade R540s which were over 10 years old, to a set of Ping G400s 4 years ago and there was an instant improvement in my scoring. Hitting some of the best iron shots of my life, I'm sure the G410s and G425s would be even better. One thing I did do with the old ones which gave me an improvement was get them regripped, didn't actually realise how bad they were until I got the new grips on.
  11. It's brutal, and I've never seen any rational or sensible explanation as to why the draw is one so far out from the tourney.
  12. He didn't get punted, he apparently left for more money on Greatest Hits Radio. He was taken off air about a month before his contract with the BBC expired, so he earned a decent whack for sitting in the house for a few weeks.
  13. It's an absolute shitshow for Monahan so far. Newcastle director Amanda Staveley playing a huge part in brokering the deal between PIF and the PGA Tour, part of which was to try to get Yasir Al-Rumayyan memberships of both the R&A and Augusta National. There was a must call list to be made on the day of the announcement, with Monahan down to call Tiger and Rory. It appears his arse collapsed at the thought of having to tell them he had hung them out to dry, and Jimmy Dunne made those calls instead.
  14. 19 year old Somerset wicketkeeper/batsman James Rew scored 221 against Hampshire in the County Championship today. It's his 5th ton plus score of the season and he is on to 952 runs, averaging 73.23, and he is now leading scorer in the first division.
  15. Wildcards Jonny O'Mara and Olivia Nicholls are into the mixed doubles semi finals. O'Mara had hinted that this might he his last tourney after joining Andy Murray's coaching team. They have beaten the 4th and 5th seeds in their last two matches and now face the 7th seeds Mate Pavic and Lyudmyla Kichenok in the semis.
  16. Some interesting stuff on this thread, looks like Lytham is carrying out some work to be Open ready again. St. George's had better crowds than Muirfield even with Covid restrictions.
  17. Watched the highlights of South Africa's 43-12 win over Australia this morning. Australia took an early lead but the Saffers just overpowered them after that and were comfortable winners. The Saffers weren't even at full strength with several players left out ahead of their trip to New Zealand.
  18. Ballot is open for entry just now. https://www.theopen.com/ticket-ballot
  19. Officially there are 10 courses on the rota. Muirfield was dropped due to not having women members, eventually changing in 2017. Turnberry obviously won't be used while it has the Trump name attached. Lytham is currently the course with the longest wait outside of Turnberry, last hosting the Open in 2012.
