  1. I can only assume that desperation was part of it, he has hardly won any money of note in months, not that that is in any way an acceptable excuse. It was just sheer lunacy to think it wouldn't be spotted. Vijay Singh was given a lifetime ban from the Asian Golf Circuit back in 1985 for doing exactly the same thing.
  2. A golf pro confesses to cheating. And the story behind it. https://www.mondayq.com/posts/doeden-cheating
  3. As random injuries go, that's a doozy.
  4. One really good finish or two half decent ones should get him in. Would reckon Fitzpatrick, Lowry and Rose will be in the team one way or another.
  5. Bob not taking up any invitations to head to the PGA Tour at the moment, concentrating on 2 of the next 3 tournaments in Europe, playing in Prague and Switzerland.
  6. As for Europe, top 3 from the Euro points, plus top 3 from the world points, plus 6 picks. Qualifying closes on September 3rd. That feels like a while away but there's only 3 DPWT tourneys in that time, the ISPS Handa Invitational, the Czech Masters and the European Open.
  7. US Ryder Cup standings, top 6 qualify automatically with 6 captain's picks. They have 4 qualifying events left, the 3M, Wyndham, Memphis and BMW. Basically 1 point = $1000. Going to be some big names missing out. Harman wouldn't even have been quoted before yesterday, he shot up 17 places in the rankings.
  8. A full 18 hole replay? Jeezo.
  9. So it seems the Royal Liverpool members were already fed up with the 17th even before the pros got to whinge about it. Mentions of groups regularly taking 30 minutes to play it. https://www.bunkered.co.uk/golf-news/controversial-open-par-3-set-for-complete-overhaul/?fbclid=IwAR3BZQoKbJLw37PnydDI4AiOGYGVmwLH1XUc0oRdYxUIeoZ-PoMApnG_TRE
  10. Fair fucks to Harman, a lot of focus on his putting but he's hardly missed a fairway. That's given him the opportunities for birdies and relatively simple pars.
  11. Imo it definitely cost them at least a draw.
  12. Definitely. The matches have been exciting but a lot of that has been down to some dreadful cricket from both sides. Thought over the first two tests England lost at least half a dozen needless wickets from some terrible shot making decisions. The Aussies then reciprocated by doing the same in the next two tests, with the weather undoubtedly saving them this time. As I posted earlier, I still think the ludicrous first innings declaration in the first test cost England at least a draw in that match.
  13. Tommy burning the last of my chances to get any money back.
  14. And it's all over in the Ashes with the match at Old Trafford abandoned. England made a right arse of it in the first two tests imo.
  15. He wobbled a bit at the start of Saturday and Sunday's rounds but recovered well.
  16. Fleetwood could easily be 9 under, has missed several good chances today, the type Harman has been rolling in. Straka gets to 8 under.
  17. Lawrence Donegan watching US coverage saying that they haven't once asked Rory's putting coach about his putting, but have asked him repeatedly about Scheffler.
  18. The two worst things about today, we could have a Todd Hamilton/Ben Curtis type winner, and it's roughly 9 months until the next major.
  19. He started poorly yesterday but only dropped one shot and never really had anyone on his coat tails. Looks like Rory is mounting his usual Sunday charge to finish 3rd.
  20. And that's without McGinley being around. Sky's cheerleading is very tedious at times.
  21. Realistically, unless Harman hits 73/74 or more then it's going to very hard for anyone to get close to him, never mind overtake him.
