  1. Happy New Year, and a big happy birthday shout out to all the racehorses out there.
  2. Fraser Brown out for 3 months with a neck injury, George Horne to have surgery on a foot injury, and Alex Allan out for the season after having surgery on his achilles. Happy new year.
  3. My workmate has had 2 holes in one, and didn't see the ball go in on either of them. The second one, he and his mate thought his ball had gone through the green, and after drawing a blank after a few minutes looking for it, his mate did the old "I'll check the hole just in case." [emoji23]
  4. Glenn Bryce the latest to announce they are leaving at the end if the season, he is signing for the LA Giltinis in the MLR.
  5. CBE in his case means Clown Boot Ersehole
  6. Team submitted, 8 retain their place from this year's selection, with 7 new signings to replace those that scored me points.
  7. Bit of both tbh. I've played with a few low handicappers who have never had one, yet one of the rounds I played with one of them (playing off 1) the longest putt he had for a 2 was about 3 feet, one of his other tee shots was 3 inches from dropping. (We only have 3 par 3s). Conversely I have a workmate who struggles to break 100, who thinned an 8 iron which went like a tracer bullet, ran on to the green, hit the pin and dropped. I'll be 35 years or so playing and have never had one, but have had a few close calls including 2 hit pins. I did once hole a wedge from about 95 yards for an eagle 3. Even some of the pros get really lucky...
  8. If the Colts beat the Jaguars as expected, then they go to 11-5 and you would think into the playoffs. There is a but though, albeit a very unlikely one. If the Dolphins, Ravens, Titans and Browns all win then there will be 5 teams tied on 11-5 for 4 playoff spots. If it did happen, the Titans would win the AFC South, and the Dolphins, Ravens and Browns would be seeded 5th, 6th and 7th with the Colts missing out. Only 2 teams have ever missed the playoffs with an 11-5 record.
  9. It was rife everywhere. I started work in 1987 and in our workshop there were at least half a dozen fully functioning alcoholics. The labourer would walk about most of the day with a coffee mug in his hand, which was full of either white lightning or diamond white, just whatever he could pick up cheaper. I wasn't averse to the odd lunchtime pint tbh, and my one and only visit to The Beacon in Prospecthill was for a Monday curer after a heavy weekend.
  10. It would be the only criticism of Nantz and Buck, that they get a hard on for certain teams and players. Don't know who the commentator was for the 49ers v Cardinals on Sunday, but he was desperate for Kyler Murray to pull off a win.
  11. It's night and day from last year, Booger was Paul Merson levels of incompetence.
  12. Best commentary team for me, with Buck and Aikman next. Monday night football with Tessitore and Booger was torture, no loss for me when they were binned
  13. Not looking for definite dates, but just an idea of what restrictions can be eased once certain levels of vaccinations are reached. E.g. what easing will there be when all the over 60s and clinically vulnerable have had their jab? I don't think that's too much to ask for folk like me who are currently around 30 millionth in the queue and would like to get on with life sometime soon.
  14. Should be great news about the Oxford/AZ vaccine being approved. What I want to hear from the SG now is how many people need to be vaccinated and what restrictions will be eased as different categories get their jab. We have a population of circa 5.5 million. Afaik both vaccines are not for under 16s, so that knocks around 1 million off that figure. Around 1.2 million are over 60. Once those over 60, prioritised workers (e.g. health care), and other vulnerable categories are vaccinated, what is the road map to getting life approaching normality?
  15. Great effort by Pakistan tbf, didn't think they would make the last session never mind getting that close to a draw.
  16. And he might have one less target to throw it to.
  17. 5 for Leeds, they have scored a few belters tonight.
  18. If you have a giant Sports Direct mug, that's barely half full.
  19. It's only 100 days until The Masters gets underway.
  20. Big Sam brings on Ivanovic for Matt Phillips at half time.
