  1. The German lass leading the Women's Open is looking unflappable at the moment
  2. Yep, has to be some mental scarring from this. His putting was poor today, far too many putts that were well short of the hole.
  3. Great up and down on 17 for par, but an utter disaster on 18. Found the bunker off the tee, then made a huge blunder by not finding the fairway with his bunker shot. Left himself a tough shot from the rough which he thrashed at a bit and found the water. Ended up with a 7 which dropped him to T8th next to Calum Hill. Syme holds on to his US Open spot, Sebastian Soderberg was also in the top 10 on the US Open list, but an 8 on the laat drops him right down to 22nd with Justin Harding claiming 10th spot.
  4. Barring something miraculous on the last two holes, Connor Syme has let this week's tourney slip after leading after the first 3 rounds, and being tied for the lead going into the back 9. He recovered from an early double bogey but two bogeys and a 3 putt par on the 15th have left him 3 behind. 2 good holes should see him finish in the top 10 on this UK swing and get him a US Open spot.
  5. Western & Southern Open: Andy Murray beats Frances Tiafoe in ATP return - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/53876322
  6. Stupid game. 13 holes of assorted shite today before getting my first par of the day on the tricky par 3 14th. Then reeled off 3 more in a row, with an up and down from 95 yards on the par 5 15th for my 5. Just couldn't get going this morning, played the first 13 holes in 25 over par, then the last 5 in 2 over with a double bogey on 18 being the only slip up in the last few holes.
  7. Olympics are probably his best chance of achieving anything else major, definitely can't see him adding to his 30 Tour stage wins.
  8. 27 (-9) at the turn. For comparison, Scheffler went out in 30, back in 29.
  9. DJ birdied the 5th too, played the first 5 holes in 13, 7 under par.
  10. Scheffler's 59 could be in danger, DJ has started like a train playing the first 4 holes in -6.
  11. Had half an idea it had been a while since an England no3 had a big score, but not this long.
  12. It is fair tbh. It's a best 2 nett rounds from 3 qualifier, so you can't use a back 9 countback. In the event of a tie the decider is then best gross score. My own fault for taking 2 sevens last Saturday. Another tough gig on the US Tour at TPC Boston as Scottie Scheffler hits a 12 under par 59 in round 2. Meanwhile at Troon, two days of gusty winds have taken it's toll at the Women's Open with the projected cut looking like falling at +9, with only one player under par. Saying nothing about the tourney at Celtic Manor, but Bob MacIntyre hit a 78 today to miss the cut after an opening 68 yesterday. I refuse to mention anyone else as that always seems to put the hex on them.
  13. Cavendish not selected for the Tour again.
  14. Last year I missed out by a shot for qualifying for the club's ko handicap competition. Even worse this year as I had the same score as the lowest ranked players, but lost out on the tiebreak rules as they all have lower handicaps than me. [emoji26]
  15. 200 up for England for no more losses, Crawley gets his ton, looked very assured from the little I've seen today.
  16. Good debate last night on Tuffers and Vaughan about the bad light rules and how much time was lost during the match. Not that it was the only issue in this match, but one point raised was the insistence in England that play absolutely has to be scheduled to start at 11am, and 10.30 is only used if time is lost the day before.
  17. Tbf, Billy won 2 sets, better than Henman would have managed.
  18. Series 2, is that the guy who was Lindsay Denton's (Hawes) ex lover? If so, it's Mark Bonnar. He's been in loads of things including Shetland and most recently Guilt, and was excellent as Eric Morecambe in Eric, Ernie and Me.
  19. Start delayed this morning with an inspection at 12 noon, but it's still raining at the moment. They would be as well calling it a day at 12.
