  1. Early days, but at least he has made a decent start for once.
  2. Thought they should have declared a wee bit earlier to give the Windies 10-12 overs to face rather than just 6. No way the Windies are going to chase down 389, all down to the weather now.
  3. Low hanging fruit, but points are points at the end of the day.
  4. TMS talking about a 400 lead, that's madness. No need to bat that long and brings the risk of the weather affecting the result into play.
  5. Should be aiming to have the Windies bat for at least an hour tonight then.
  6. Yep, that looked a sore one. England can bat out today and declare overnight, they will have way more than enough runs in hand and give themselves 2 full days to bowl the Windies out just in case the Manchester weather does it's best to force a draw.
  7. Dowrich and Holder stifled England for a while this morning, and dragged the Windies past the follow on target. Holder went almost immediately after that though and the last 4 wickets fell for 19 runs, with Broad taking 6-31. Windies 197 all out. England lead by 172.
  8. This is now very much the banter years government.
  9. One of these days I hope I can put a consistent 18 holes together. On Thursday it was a good front 9, and a crap back 9. Today the first 6 holes were dreadful, but then played the last 12 in about 4 under my handicap. Infuriating stuff.
  10. Woakes goes for 1, Windies clawing themselves back into the match, though conditions at the moment look perfect for England's bowlers.
  11. Weather much better than originally forecast in Manchester. There's certainly worse players Pope could be playing like than this.. (Apparently Pope's nickname behind the scenes is Ricky Pontiff. [emoji2])
  12. It's mental. We are consistently told how important the tourist industry is, but we will be lucky if anything is left after this.
  13. The Scottish government had originally given fairgrounds the go ahead to open, but 3 weeks later have done a u-turn and ordered them to close. As anybody who has been to Millport knows, on the front their is a small crazy golf with trampolines and swing boats alongside, they had been open, but are now having to close. As usual the inconsistency is the problem, swing parks and playgrounds are still allowed to open, kids will be touching more stuff there than they would at a fair. "Millport Crazy Golf Further to the Scottish government U-turn on travelling fairs and covid legislation, we have some bad news tonight. North Ayrshire Council have now closed the static fairs here in Millport. The Garrison funfair has been closed completely and our rides, except the Crazy Golf itself, has been closed. It means as of tomorrow, and until further notice, only the Crazy Golf itself will be open. Unfortunately the Swingboats, Trampolines and Orbiter Cars must stay closed. I'm sorry about this but its a situation completely outwith our control. We have been open for 20 days now without incident, the season had already been significantly shortened and we had hoped to salvage something from the half a season left, but even that has been curtailed now. We hope that visitors to the island, and locals/2nd home owners can continue to support us with the Crazy Golf itself whilst it remains open."
  14. Unconfirmed reports that David Hagen has passed away.
  15. Cracking innings today from Pope when his team needed it, Buttler cutting loose a bit too which is piling the pressure on the bowlers.
  16. Shocker, no need to be taking chances at this stage of the game. Good recovery too after losing the early wicket.
  17. US, Mexico and Brazil grand prix all cancelled, 3 events at the Nurburgring, Imola and a debut event for Portimao will take their place. Formula 1: US, Mexican & Brazilian races will not go ahead in 2020 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/53527355
  18. Cheers. Just plugged my watch in to update last night's round to be met with an error message. Played the front 9 like a 12 handicapper rather than a 21, going in out 42, including having an eagle putt on the par 5 8th, hitting the green with a drive and the best hybrid shot I've ever hit.. Missed the putt obviously, but did get the birdie.
  19. One of my ex workmates went to Goa on holiday years ago, and brought me back a reverse alarm that played the Lambada. Neighbours loved it I'm sure, especially when I got home from night shift on a Saturday morning at 5.30 am. [emoji23]
  20. Oil leak could be pricey depending what it is, but could also be a quick fix. CV joint boot might just need repositioning and a new clip, if it's split it's a more time consuming job to fit a new one. Exhaust reading again could be a simple fix. Is it petrol or diesel? What type of driving/mileage does she do?
  21. I can understand why they want Stokes to play, they are a much poorer team without him. But why risk making his injury worse?
  22. On the rationale that they were going to only play the bowlers in 2 of the 3 matches max, would they not be as well to give Stokes a rest?
