  1. Neil Innes, Rutle and Occasional Python, makes his bid for the Last Gasp bonus. Hate these folk that die without giving us any warning that they were ill first. https://news.sky.com/story/neil-innes-monty-python-actor-and-rutles-musician-dies-aged-75-11898171
  2. Keegan Petersen has been called up to replace the injured Markram, so that helps with the quotas.
  3. South Africa just bided their time knowing that once they got through the top order the fabled long England batting line up would do their best to throw their wickets away. Lord knows who thought bringing Bairstow back was a good idea.
  4. England make it halfway to the target with 3 wickets down.
  5. When he only played once at the Davis Cup it was obvious something wasn't right.
  6. Australia won by 247 runs in the end, NZ batting a man short with Boult injured. Not that he would have made a big difference. Peter Siddle has announced his retirement from international cricket.
  7. Was certainly the rumour last weekend. They are also saying that Smith and Boucher have virtually begged Dwaine Pretorius not to sign a Kolpak deal in England, and it seems he will stay in South Africa.
  8. Thistle fans had a minute's applause today in the 3rd, 12th, 24th, 29th, 34th and 43rd minutes.
  9. That explanation is baffling. He can stand anywhere he fucking likes as long as he is onside when the ball is played.
  10. Not a keen follower by any means, but do watch it on occasion if I am channel hopping and find it on. Had it on a few weeks ago and my daughter couldn't get her head around the fact that the distance they were jumping would go from our back door into the school at the other side of the playing fields behind our house.
  11. But Jackson misses the extras. 2 points in it, 12 minutes to go.
  12. Nice wee rumble over by Horne, Warriors back in front.
  13. Shocking defending by Glasgow at the ruck. Free run in for Pyrgos.
  14. Should that not be a yellow card for Ritchie?
  15. England 121-1 at the close, great effort from the top order for once. Still need 255 to win though, so still a lot of cricket left to be played in the match.
  16. I think for the openers batting time is just as important as scoring runs, with the ball they use down there if you can hang about for 25-30 overs then you are making it a lot easier for the guys coming in after you.
  17. Rabada just swatted Curran into the stands for 6, a stunning shot. Curran snags Philander a couple of balls later, decent catch by Bairstow. England need 376 to win, and with dark skies at Centurion it looks tailor made for Rabada and Philander to cause havoc here.
  18. Almost certainly, especially if at least a couple of the England batsmen are struggling. Root looked like absolute shit the last time they showed him.
  19. I know a few folk did the team of the decade on the BBC sport website, this was the XI that were the most popular choices.
  20. Definitely something far wrong with the way he is being used. As mentioned at lunch, he is bowling to the field that has been set for him, so somebody has decided that they want him to bowl endless short stuff. Whether that was him, the captain or the coach, it's a monumental blunder. Also worth nothing that for all he has bowled a lot of shite and has been expensive, he has managed to take 4 wickets.
  21. There was what can only be described as a frank exchange of views involving Root, Stokes and Broad in the huddle after one of the wickets was taken. None of the bowlers have performed well today, not just Archer that needs taken to task.
  22. He has treated him with utter contempt, hitting 30 from 17 balls. Lead is 300 at lunch, with 3 wickets in hand.
  23. Van der Dussen goes lbw for 51, 153-5, lead by 256.
  24. 50 for van der Dussen, lead by 249 and 100 partnership with Nortje not far away.
