Good start from him, but it didn't do them much good on Sunday when the Chiefs threw away a 17-0 half time lead to lose 20-17 at home to Bristol, that was a huge shock.

Booger is fecking torture to listen to. Caught the highlights too. 49ers run game struggled, which puts pressure on Garropolo to pass it and I'm still unconvinced he is up to that task. Bad enough having Kittle missing but losing Sanders hurt badly too. Seahawks went to sleep a bit and allowed the 49ers back into the game, an absolute gutter to pick Wilson off well into OT and still lose.

Half of the top ten aren't bothering to make the trip, including Lowry, Rahm and McIlroy. 76th on the list is in the field so there are quite a few opting out.

They would be as well taking enough of the England Lions squad along with them to make up two teams among themselves, I really don't see what these type of "easy" warm up games achieve. Admittedly the guys who have just flown out need to get over the jetlag and used to the change of time zone, but the bowling machines would provide as much of a test.

One of the accusations levelled at a lot of touring teams is that the warm up matches are never hard enough these days. Never mind the quality of the opposition, I find the rules in place for some of these games strange too. England had 13 batsmen, and it was pre agreed that England would bat all day regardless of how many wickets they lost. As it turned out it was a shortened day anyway due to the weather, but to me you are introducing a mindset that it doesn't matter if I get put out, I can maybe get another shot later.

I'm usually nightshift so would catch a chunk of the match, but I'm off tonight and have too many things to do tomorrow to stay up. Afraid it will just have to be the highlights. 49ers have activated TE Garrett Celek, so that doesn't fill me with much confidence about George Kittle's fitness.

Brian Moore driving a big hole though Saracen's claim that the co-investments are all about player welfare to help set them up for life after they retire. He asks the pertinent question, why are the highest paid players the ones who are getting the extra assistance, when they are the ones least likely to need it?

Classic Scottish Albums on BBC Sounds is not too bad, 20 minutes or so an episode so handy for a tea break or a quick bus trip. I was a fan of the By The Minute Golf podcast with Lawrence Donegan and John Huggan, it was off air for quite a while but is now back as the McKellar Golf Podcast.

I think you have to try and win games even from the point of view of trying to show your better players that you can improve. My workmate was at the Dolphins season opener when they got utterly rinsed by the Ravens, the Florida press the following week was full of stories of players who were wanting traded out of Miami.

I was talking to a workmate last week and we were discussing that when you reach 1-8 or similar, do you then consciously decide to tank the rest and go for the best draft pick? Dolphins obviously have decided not too.
