  1. Is it a banana or is it a torch? It's a torch......that looks like a banana!
  2. I haven't got my present yet but I've asked for Joy Division oven gloves. Fingers crossed.
  3. I agree with that list up to a point but I'm just not ready for life without Chris Erskine. Put him in in place of McCarthy who has the pace of Ross Forbes but sadly not enough footballing ability to compensate.
  4. It's been a couple of months since I've seen Slater play so I'll bow to your greater knowledge.
  5. Just out of curiosity, who do you think has been our best central midfielder this year?
  6. He's probably our best player so wouldn't that be a rare bit of good news rather than "meh"?
  7. Kenny, of course, has never once in his umpteen year career as a striker tried to con a referee into awarding a penalty. No siree. Didn't happen.
  8. You'd rather have McCann than a manager with experience and a comparative record of success...are you sure?
  9. Derek Adams must be a goalless draw away from being dumped at Plymouth. Wouldn't be a bad shout surely?
  10. Not just Storey. Get Doolan benched too and have Mutombo and Quitongo on from the start.
  11. I really don't know why we're getting all sniffy about the likes of Hughes and McIntyre. I don't have a problem with either. Let's face it, we will either get someone new to management or someone with a chequered career. One of success and failure (the most recent appointment ending in failure otherwise they wouldn't be available). Hughes may be a big balloon but he must feel he has something to prove after the Raith fiasco. He's achieved before. As for McIntyre's reputed negativity...no one will give a toss if the results good enough. Duffy I won't dismiss either but I don't recall any point in his managerial career when he has produced a team which is better than the sum of it's parts but I may be wrong. As for the squad not being good enough to achieve promotion, I see absolutely no reason why a decent manager can't keep us in contention until the January window.
  12. I'm glad Archibald's dismissal has lifted the the spirits around here. Fucking hell.
  13. Have Thistle ever had a manager from outside of Scotland? I certainly can't think of one.
  14. Firstly, is he realistic candidate? We don't even know if he interested in pursuing a career in football management. Secondly, having had a couple of seasons with us a decade and a half ago hardly makes him part of the bricks and mortar. I'm not sure if anyone is actually serious about Craigen as manager material especially after witnessing how things are going at Dens after their appointment of a TV pundit.
  15. I disagree. There's no reason why Gerry Britton shouldn't be involved in the process. Our last two managerial appointments were largely successful as we went from mid table championship and peaked at top six premiership. This time there are no realistic candidates from the "old boys club" as you call it for Britton or anyone else to consider.
  16. Archibald's tenure as manager has hardly been a disaster, in fact he's given us some moments to treasure in his time at the helm but it seems now he is unable to reverse the downward momentum we've been experiencing for the last year. Now could well be the right time for a change as the squad he has put together, and we all know it's deficiencies, is far from the worst in this division. A new man in charge, a new outlook, a fresh enthusiasm could keep us in contention until the squad can be improved in January. It may also lift some of the gloom around Firhill.
  17. If St Mirren wish to extract maximum seethe from their next appointment then forget Mckinnon. Morton fans are saying David Hopkin is done deal at Cappielow. Will sign in the next day or so because he's a Morton man through and through. In fact ignore me. That would be far, far too cruel.
  18. I'd certainly rather have Hopkin managing my team than Mckinnon but it seems to be accepted that Hopkin's managerial ambitions lie elsewhere (he didn't give up managing Livvy in the Premiership in the hope that a gig like Morton would come along). So if you land him you better get used to the idea that he may disappear as quickly as Ray did.
  19. I think you're being a bit melodramatic. I bought a season ticket too. I wasn't conned, I took a punt like I do every year hoping that it will be worthwhile. Being disappointed isn't the same as being conned.
