  1. Not sure I'm a fan of people driving through the ford in my village just for the sake of it. There's a very competent road bridge just along the road.

However, as this guy made an arse of getting out at the other side, it added to the gaiety of my wee sit on the bench for those few minutes today.

  2. You in the lothians?? The beerhive in rodney street stocks overtone I think.
Used to be Midlothian, but not any more, I've been exiled to Peeblesshire. I got my Overtone at Villeneuve today. Much better stock of beers than I remember. Always had it down as a whisky and wine shop.

Opened the first one just there. Jammies to work, a 6.0% NEIPA. It's hitting the spot.
  3. Black Isle Brewery farmhouse spelt lager. A 5.8% beast of grassy and sweet flavours. Although I had a doughnut for my pudding just before opening the can so that may explain the sweetness.

Quite enjoyable. I procured a box of their magic in February and they sent me a cute wee glass too. Bless them.

  4. I've had seventy or eighty quid in my wallet for so long that the queen looks like Clare Foy. Contractors is just standard now, and I was shocked when a corner shop in Redditch last week told me they had a five pound minimum spend when I wanted a pint of milk and some mints. Felt weird passing over actual coins.
I think my biggest spend using cash in the last year has been the tooth fairy!
  5. If this goes through, I'm away to watch Peebles Rovers or Linton Hotspur every week, if I even bother with football anymore.

I only go to about 25 games or so a year in League One or League Two, they won't miss my money.

Genuinely post-covid seems like a very bad time for clubs to be testing the principles or their supporters. The football habit has already been dented for many.

  6. Had two of these lingering at the back of my fridge. A hazy IPA.

Hazy memories of some grifter sitting in the rose garden at Downing St. last year, taking the entire country as fools.

Last saw him walking along Whitehall carrying a pot plant in a cardboard box looking for a cab.

  7. For those looking Rose Reilly up, this is a superb article:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/17/rose-reilly-scottish-footballer-world-cup-italy-milan

I saw Ginny Clark tell the Rose Reilly story in a Scottish Book Week event at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Then Thomas Clark stood up and read a poem about her.

It was a brilliant night, and it felt like a great moment of recognition for her brilliant story.
