  1. A post I put to one of McGowan 's go-betweens in The Boardroom which sums up the feeling of our fanbase.

Arbroath sign three players, score 4 goals to win at Dundee.

    Accies: hee-haw, Barney Mcgraw.

Haven't scored a League GOAL in two months.

One home win all season- via a penalty against 10 men who deserved a point.

Last 13 League  games: Won 1, Drew 1, Lost ELEVEN.

We are the laughing stock of Scottish Football on and off the field  and in all my years(since 1976-77 season), I have never seen the Accies support so deflated, sickened and  depressed.

It was ever better during the seven years without a home ground. That is how low the morale is among our supporters at the moment.

I have never witnessed as many people leave a game when we are ONE goal behind as today That says it all as they knew we could play till January next year and not score.

Where is Vertanen,Ngandu and Tiehi ?Has Tiehi been recalled as rumoured at the game?

Never mind SEVEN points needed to catch firstly Arbroath. That team won't even score SEVEN goals the rest of the season if not changed.

    Totally scunnered com

They make it easier every day to care less and less about them tbh.

How can you be expected to continue to support a club who have zero ambition, continually prioritise non-footballing matters over the first team (whilst happily using the club name to generate publicity), who repeatedly square go supporters who challenge their performance, who openly mock their supporters by laughing at and liking comments on social media, and show time and time again that they do not understand their fanbase?

When you look at everything there is about a football club to support, and why people support a club (especially when it isn't either of the big two in Glasgow) Hamilton Accies no longer offer any of those things.

Never forget it is our club and it will be one day again  once we have despatched the latest "gang" as we did in the dark homeless period.

I have been watching Accies for 46 seasons and bar a couple of short spells, we have always had people running the club acting not in the best interests of the supporters of the club.

If people completely give up-as sadly roughly 60% of our fan base have- we may not even have a club to save.Hang in there as we are in another period of self-inflicted decline and it may get much worse before it can be salvaged.

  3. Reading the Arbroath Statement  and it is exactly the sort of thing the Accies Board have put out since the Canning days every so often the last eight years.

Arbroath FC need to be careful here as throwing the baby  out  with the bath water will only lead to long standing fans  being so pissed off that they will chuck it.At the same time, the new fans/glory hunters will disappear like snow off a dyke and you will be left with a lower number of diehards.

This happened at Accies as folk I know who were  going 20-50 seasons have stopped going completely with the hangers on fcuking off to support the Old Firm now we are on a slippery slope.

The Club have belatedly acknowledged this with a new Director acting as a go-between and trying to bring current and lapsed fans onside, but the damage has been done.

Memo to the Arbroath Board;never go full Canningesque to defend a Manager as those fans will be there long after the current incumbent has gone-unless you alienate them completely as our club did.

  4. I watched him play for Accies reserves this season and he looked "rusty" shall we say with the turning ability of an oil tanker, but the experience was there talking our young lads through the game and Dougie knows what he is getting.

Typical Accies to have a guy training with us to keep fit and allow him to go to another club in the same League at a time when we short of bodies for the position he plays.

At least Morton are getting a guy reasonably fit-unlike ourselves who  signed players nearly three months ago who are still unfit.

I will miss my half-time chats with the big man about how badly we were playing on the day.He was at more Accies games this season than many of our fans.

I am sure he will still do a job in the short term,so best of luck to big Efe.

  5. Not eveǹ at Halloween and it feels like last chance saloon already as lose this and we are five-basically six points if you include goal difference- behind the side in 8th and no way would this side make up that gap the way results are going.

It would more likely be double figures by New Year and the doom and gloom around the fans is as bad as the homeless years as McGowan continues to Phoenix Nights our way to oblivion.

The fact we are relying on a 16 year old to come off the bench and help to change games shows how badly Maitland and McDonald(all silent atm)have organised recruitment as has signing and resigning players who are still unfit nearly three months later.

Despite the aforementioned,I feel we can still get out of this mess ... just and then we can regroup after the 8th dreadful season in a row.

  6. Apparently  a sickness bug and covid in The squad,so a threadbare squad may well  be more stretched.

On  paper should be a Dundee win, but one of these weeks we are going to take these chances we are missing in games and get  an unexpected win.

Jamie Hamilton-not played all season has suffered a setback in training,so that will him out till nearer November.

This is a game which brings back memories of the old rivalry the last 15+ years and I notice one of the new boys on social media has mentioned this and the importance of this game.

Despite the aforementioned, I can see  us raising our game this Saturday and would not in the least be surprised to see an under-fire squad grab a victory against the odds.

Aye it happened and a lot of it too. Noticed a wee kid about 7/8 getting hit in the cheek with what looked like a wee tub of sauce, like the ones you’d get out of McDonalds or Dominos

Plenty of coins too. Whole load of the people at the segregation at Hamilton side on the gear before kick off by look of it. Few bizarre moments and some strange behaviour. Like I said earlier on if that’s the reaction to a bunch of drunken middle aged adults and young kids from Arbroath not sure what would’ve happened if there was a proper group of neds in the away end too

From where I was sitting,it was the drunken middle age Arbroath fans who were the catalyst to all the bother which led to the fiery atmosphere.

Crazy decision by McGowan putting away fans in there where the young team sit every week and it ended costing them money in having to get Police into the ground.

Mind you it added to the atmosphere when normally Arbroath games at home are a bit "after you Claude".

We were hanging on at the end,but the game should have been dusted long before then.Great to see some of our young all conquering under 18 side start to make an impact in the first team. This crop of kids are apparently as good as The James McCarthy/James McArthur crop and the future looks good if they mature into the first team.

Finally,we had Queens Park fans sitting there not so long ago and there was no hassles with fans even mingling at half-time/full-time.A contrast to today with guys full of the bevvy making a top roaring Richard Hunt of themselves.

Child friendly pubs in the area around the ground please Accies fans ?

    And ticket prices please 👍🏻

Not sure The Vaults allows kids as can be hit or  miss iro this.I have seen kids in there but also watched folk with kids turned away at the door.

The large Function Suite at the ground used to allow away fans but was home fans only last Saturday which was a change from normal.

Bar West,The Peacock & Ivy,The Villa Hotel or Clydesdale Hotel may be your best bet with The Bay Horse a bit further away.

Arbroath's streetwise players verses our mix of unknowns and kids allied to both sides losing strikers from last season equals a low score draw or narrow win for either team.

The Accies bench is basically our under 18 team which greatly impacts our ability to change things although judging by Saturday past, this would be no great difference.

To be fair,we have been okayish up until Saturday which was reminiscent of some of last season's disastrous performances,so a better performance effort wise will be a given.

You can buy tickets online but unlike other clubs,we always have a PATG option...which should be the case anyway at every ground.

And yet you're all over any political point that isn't in favour of unionism, on this forum or the Accies one. We get it, you prefer Tory rule forevermore to normal independence.

Nope, the reason I posted this was I had three Season Ticket holders contact me unhappy at what went on.

So,according to some on here, they are not welcome then are they?

I know folk who support our club from all sections of society and Political Parties ranging from The Communist Party to UKIP.All bar a few Separatists leave their Politics at the turnstile as it should be.

I know you tried to tie the support along with a few others  into The Independence Camp in 2014 and were told that the fan base is apolitical...as it should be.I would say the same if it was the other way about.

Leave the Political guff outside the ground-from whatever side of the fence it happens to be.

Take it that it was the scumbag heartless fascist leader puppet of the Zieg Heil antiScottish Tory Party?

    :P

Cult daft. Not be long till the Pretendy Ref.😂😂😂😂

A few of our young team started singing "fcuk the Tories" while another lot started singing " fcuk the SNP".

Political nonsense has no place in a stadium as folk go to football to get away from that pish.

Fwiw, they are all turds of varying degrees whatever the Party.

Really hope the Accies fan with the mullet doesn't post on here as the P&B Accies lot are fairly sound and he appeared to be the angriest person I've seen at football in my life for no apparent reason.

Between spending 90% of the game just staring at the John Lambie Stand and bursting onto the pitch to celebrate their goal he just seemed like a real weird guy.

He stays in The West End I believe.Probably winding up his pals in the home end.

To the 100 travelling Hamilton fans well done for showing up to support your team. Shocking numbers though.

Ah,the old crowdwanking, let's take a picture before everyone is in w****r mindset is alive and well.

I am not in the picture and neither are any of the dozen or so I was sitting next to surprise surprise.

Quite a few Accies fans sadly walked away after not realising it was Online only for away fans(although home fans could purchase from a massive queue at the Portocabin).

Eventually Gerry Britton appeared outside to take cash from those who were still there without Online tickets at around 3:10-3:20 which begets the question of why not just have a cash/card gate in the first place?

As for the game,Thistle had 3-4 great chances to score before the comedy Accies goal.We sat in-whether through choice or Thistle pressure and  eventually an equaliser was coming. Both sides had chances after to win it.

Thistle put plenty balls in the box which were defended well in the main by our central defence while Andy Winter showed he was no Chucky with our attacks breaking down when looking promising.

Looks like we will be the low score  draw specialists as our weak bench ensures that we can only hold out for so long. All sides in the League will take points off each other but those with stronger squads and good options from the bench will ultimately prevail over a long season.

This is where we fall down as a bench in the main of raw wee 16-18 year old boys badly affects our ability to change it when needed unlike other sides, who can bring on tried and tested players at this level without weakening their starting eleven.

There are still plenty of people that just want to walk up to the ground and buy a ticket for the game. I don’t understand why any club cuts off any potential source of revenue.

Yep and plenty folk not with smart phones and/or Printers if they need  to print tickets off.

Last season we  were due to play Arbroath away during the Christmas holiday period and a lot of those who purchased tickets online couldn't go to the rearranged game when it was midweek, thus  being out of pocket.

PATG/card payments on the day should always be an option when grounds are half to two thirds empty.Madness  to cut off folk who would otherwise attend.

  14. I see we have signed Michael Doyle who was a stalwart for you guys in The Seaside Leagues going full circle for him as he started with us as a young boy.

Surprised QP let him go but we have needed a right back for years and the last decent one we had was Aaron McGowan.

QP losing a lot of potential support and match day income with the ongoing building works. You guys sure you haven't got Colin McGowan from involved judging by the constant delays?

  15. Game went as expected with the side with nothing to play for showing exactly that.

No problems with The boy Williamson giving it back.I would be more concerned if he didn't lol.

Most disappointing aspect of the game for me was Mr Process sticking to the tried and not so trusted. This was the game to play McGinn,Nicolson and McGowan from the start instead of the lamentable time they received.

First time in years the players have not received a warm reception at the end of the season.Frankly, the Players/Management don't deserve any as this has been another absolute clusterfcuk of a season with very few highlights and plenty of devastating defeats.

  16. Villa Hotel,Clydesdale Hotel and The Bay Horse will also let kids in.

Some sort of unofficial boycott going on after the latest Accies v Celtic shennanigans in "The Academical Vaults" where those spending "the green pound" were indulging in over-exuberant behaviour while Accies punters are treated like crap if they attempt to celebrate any rare victories.

Facebook WAH page has lots saying they will drink elsewhere-in particular The Manhattan Bar in The Town Centre owned by Accies fans before games due to the way the aforementioned establishment treats Accies fans as opposed to the Celtic lot.

  17. I said at 2-1 Dunfermline would regret those couple of missed chances and so it proved.

Last 15 minutes,it was one way traffic but we didn't deserve to win the game. Our midfield were a shambles:Mullen,Spence and Lawson and the worst man on the park scored two goals which summed the day up.

I was willing to give Taylor a chance but it is always like for like subs,no change in formation or tactics...meet the new boss same as the old boss.

Pars fans  I met after the game felt we should have won.I disagree, their profligacy at 2-1 let us into the game.

We are still in the mix for the Play Offs with QOS and Ayr in The forthcoming games with defeat in one of those games potentially dragging us back in it.

  18. The fans who were banned today were banned because of the Protest at the ground when the fans arrived back in Hamilton from Auchinleck.A legitimate, peaceful protest where the club sent Police vans,Police dogs and around 40 Officers to the ground.

Apparently, that Security guy has banned Four with around a dozen "culprits" on his list including a guy who has missed one game in 19 years.Plenty of those there not on  their 'list'.

Plenty talk on Social Media/Forums at not accepting this and this has caused an already dreadful relationship to widen. One of those banned is Accies die-hard Freddy...not to worry as plenty of us  have his back.

I know they have screenshots of every disparaging comment on here,WAH private  Facebook page(members only) and Acciesworld.

The Football Department Chairman was also demanding a list of names when he handed a cheque over to The Race Night I hear.

What a club run by those who can't tolerate legitimate criticism at the worst result in our history. They have made things 100x worse when we should be starting to heal after today's win.

As for the game, a deserved win and I expected more from The Pars after recent results.

We made it a nervy end to the game as per usual when the game should have been done and dusted.

I-like many others- couldn't get rid of the free tickets as such is the  disconnect between the Club and fans.Even Season Book holders I  know never turned out as they are so scunnered.

Support the team not the regime.
