  1. Yeah, been saying for a while that McGrath might need to go wide. I don't think he's offering so much through the middle that that's a great loss, tbh. He was playing off Brophy today (supposedly) and it produced nothing, so we might as well change it.
  2. Yeah. Sadly we don't have the midfield to get away with playing a four there. And 3-5-2 is absolute murder. You're 100% correct, though, and that's become apparent for us in the space of a couple of games.
  3. No doubt our lack of goals is a huge concern. I can't quite see us collapsing, but Goodwin has GOT to find a functioning system and stick with it, playing players in their correct positions. Sounds simple, really.
  4. Lots of people slagging the Connolly/McAllister switch, but Kyle did more in his time on the pitch than Connolly did. Obviously the issue was more that Mason needed hooking, but the actual substitution itself didn't turn out terribly. Hard not to wish that Flynn was fit. He and JDH at the base of midfield would make us a totally different prospect, tbh. Assuming we stop playing Mason on the wing and Connolly remembers that he plays football for a living. Edit: just realised this wasn't the match thread. Ah well.
  5. To be fair to him, the first time he received a pass to his feet anywhere near the box was after Obika came on. I personally would have started Obika anyway. Brophy ended up straying further and further to get any of the ball. Jim has got some big questions to answer now. Can he find a line-up that actually threatens any sides (and I don't mean just passing it about nicely in the first two thirds)? Can he actually make two up front work? If not, why did we sign Brophy? If Foley and Flynn are as finished at St Mirren as it would appear, then we urgently need an experienced replacement in the middle of midfield because Erhahon need a rest and Cammy isn't quite the answer.
  6. Ethan's Vs St Johnstone was the last one that fits that category, and was also against 11 men.
  7. I know they gave Robinson MotM, but Bartley was the difference for me today. If we had a big experienced CM it'd make all the difference in the world to us.
  8. Ah, f**k it. We've not been good enough on the day. Better since we went two up top but haven't created anywhere near enough.
  9. Definitely serious if it's a hamstring oh no wait look he's fine.
  10. I hope we're at it even more because if the ref has seen the replay of that penalty incident he'll be well aware he owes us one.
  11. I've been after seeing McGrath as a pure centre mid for a few weeks now. I'd be up for that.
  12. I hate getting at him cos he's only 19 but bloody hell Ethan needs to screw the nut a bit. He's given away three or four ten-yard headers that he's just nodded forward without looking or thinking. We're far from out of this but we need a massive improvement. I'm not sure what Mason is for, especially on the wing. Connolly clearly took a head knock against Rangers because he's been completely missing ever since.
  13. I reckon our set piece tactics of aiming for their keeper's gloves every time will pay off eventually.
  14. McCarthy sending Robinson the wrong way may be the best thing we do all game.
  15. Ethan needs to fucking wake up, too. This has been a dogshit start.
  16. Shaughnessy has been in 'lump it forward' mode since the first minute.
  17. Come. On. You. Saints. Nothing stupid, no daft cards, no sloppy errors and take it from there.
  18. Aye 105 x 68 according to Wiki....the exact same as ours !!! I know mate
