  1. Connolly has had a couple quiet games; McAllister blows hot and very cold. I dream of seeing them both firing on the same day. Of course, sod's law states that will happen when they're providing chances for Erwin.
  2. Yeah, that's interesting. I'd imagine he'd easily get another gig at this level if he wanted. Came in on loan yesterday.
  3. I was hoping the Barton sacking would be our route in to sending him back down the road. Possibly need to wait till the replacement is in the door. (Edit: as @Ricsaid. I just follow him about the forum copying what he says ) I'm gutted about Ryan Flynn, btw: I personally can't see him breaking back into our team. Definitely a victim of the lack of reserve games, in a similar way to Dennis.
  4. I had wondered about Durmus; he's the only other player that crossed my mind as being desirable enough to Killie, that we would also probably be happy to part with. If we switch to 4-4-2 he's probably going to be behind McGrath and Mason* in the pecking order. * whether people agree with that or not.
  5. Who the hell are CPC? 37 goals in 5 games?? Runaway leaders in the Taiwanese league, by the looks of it.
  6. Good to know: sadly we're playing the world's 22nd most in-form team in the semi. CC: @ATLIS, @LIVIFOREVER - having done the research, might as well show it to some relevant people.
  7. And appointing Tommy Craig, and failing to sack Tommy Craig quickly enough, and then dicking around with replacing him. But the Kenny McLean 'sale' was definitely the straw that broke the camel's back. I know Alan Stubbs was nearly a Tommy Craig moment, but thank goodness we acted decisively. Vast difference how we're run now vs then.
  8. I honestly never thought it'd get to this January and I'd feel ambivalent about Foley leaving, but the fact is he simply hasn't been as influential and I don't think he can put his mark on a game in the way our style of play requires. I posted a few pages back that I could see us going for another CM. I guess if Foley leaves it leaves us possibly needing CH cover as well.
  9. He's scored two for us and has been in and out the team. I don't think it's crazy to imagine him scoring a further three this season with more time on the pitch. Edit: he's played 18 games, of which he started 9. Admittedly, many of those starts were absolutely baffling to me. I'm not saying sub appearances don't count, but 2 from 9 starts isn't a terrible ratio. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Erwin and think he's mainly been an absolute carthorse for us. The embodiment of a no-trick pony. But I do stand by my point that he's a five-goal-a-season kind of guy.)
  10. Given Accies' claim on a percentage of any fee, you'd have to say a swap deal represents the best value for your guys at this stage. Assuming it's Erwin, you'd at least get a player who will want to play and who will almost certainly score a few. The alternative - paying the lad to train on his own - seems a waste of time and money all round.
  11. I've always liked this idea, but, legend as he is for us, he's also a bit of a clown. I strongly suspect he has absolutely zero desire to gets his hands dirty with coaching. I'm sure there must be plenty of other potential candidates out there and, I agree, a couple days a week is all it'd require, surely.
  12. Weirdly, 'I ran' is something he rarely says after a match. Hmm. There are reservations (possibly just my own) about the ability of our coaching staff to get the best out of forward players.
  13. Are you even a real St Mirren fan if you've not considered Erwin going to Killie and assumed he's going to become a baller?
  14. If I was him, there's no way I'd have stuck around at a club whose support shows such little regard for spelling my surname correctly. Best wishes, Coventry Siant.
  15. He was great for us in 17-18, but as part of a team skooshing the league. He was very quick, but had Lewis Morgan playing out wide and (a then very good) Cammy Smith floating around as well. He's busy, harries defences, and is rapid. He scored one in two for us that year, a stat boosted by four in one game against Lothian Thistle. He unusually went on a dry spell in the title run-in, with 1 in 14 at a point when he should have been scoring for fun: It's unclear who was to blame for him not signing a new deal to play for us the year we came up. The easiest option is (always) to blame Alan Stubbs, but Reilly might have been looking for a move away anyway. When I heard he was coming back up here, I assumed it'd be a Champ-level team. Raith, maybe. I'm surprised he's got a gig with you, and I very much look forward to seeing him turn into an absolute world beater for Livi.
