  1. Doesn't surprise me, I still think there's a player in there, and he would clean up at that level. Probably more than a few clubs who could match our wages. But it's safe to say we won't miss him based on the game time he's getting and his scoring record. I do think his injury troubles last season killed any momentum he might have had with us. He's just never quite got rolling properly.
  2. He's saying it's a PCA at this stage. They'll need to get that agreed, then potentially move on to seeing if we'll let him go early.
  3. Ah, fair enough, I see what you're getting at. TBH, getting players off the wage bill is probably the best we can hope for; we don't have many saleable assets now. Probably McGrath and Erhahon the only ones we'd get anything for if it came down to it. We'd get buttons for McCarthy now; should have taken that rumoured offer in the summer given he doesn't seem to be first choice now. I remember when the Fakes were linked with McAllister; I had the feeling of 'what if they get a tune out of him'. But seeing MacPherson struggling has calmed me slightly; we may as well let Kyle go if it means we could bring someone else in.
  4. Really? I think we could easily lose Erwin and Dennis without any issue. Probably McAllister as well.
  5. Huge ad down the side of the page... this guy's expression seemed to line up perfectly:
  6. 100% re Connolly. You can't underestimate the amount of space that a guy as fast as him creates for the rest of the team. Defences have to drop right off to prevent being caught out. No coincidence that McGrath was a better player when he had faster players around him creating space.
  7. At the end of the window, aye. But they'd been rumoured to be interested early on and the story was (IIRC) that Drey Wright was part of that. We said no. Disclaimer: I may have totally misremembered this, tbf.
  8. Kennedy seems inevitable, sadly. Wasn't Wright rumoured to be part of the package Hibs originally put together for McGrath, when we laughed them out the building at the start of the summer window? Obviously we knew at that stage we'd be getting way bigger offers in
  9. He and King just conspired to hand Chelsea a third. TBH I liked him too. Honest lad. Not quite good enough, but always put himself about. Plus he made that fucking United defender cry in the playoff.
  10. Evil underground lair. The pitch slides to one side when they need to launch their rockets. TBH, all the clues are there. It's pretty obvious when you do your research, sheeple.
  11. Just saw Cody Cooke on Twitter wishing King and Kellerman good luck for today. That's quite the shit footballer clique they formed. I remember posting that pic during the shootout in the Killie game when there was a huge gap between the new and old players. I had jokingly said it looked like there was a divide. Turns out there really was
  12. Ok, Stubbs signings Vs Craig signings in a fives game. Which is the shittest team?
  13. I'd like to see us send Erwin Arbroath's way. I think he'd do a job at the right end of the Championship.
  14. Yeah, we're going to be feeding off scraps. We need to move players on before anyone comes in, and Goodwin said he was largely happy with the squad. I'm not sensing massive urgency to do business, tbh. I'm just hoping 'we need pace' isn't just code for 'we're bringing in some unknown young lad on loan from a Premier League team's reserves who'll play three games and find he's out of this depth... but he is really pacey.'
  15. It's amazing how frequently these rumours about other clubs spending massively on players circulate every time St Johnstone miss out on a player.
  16. Fair play to St Johnstone, they're in trouble and are acting. Nadir might be a bit of a dice roll, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does ok for you. Could easily bag 6-7 goals between now and the end of the season.
  17. If he can go to England he will, but like in the summer that might not pan out. I have a mental image of his agent working his way north on deadline day in August - Sheffield United fell through so he hopped up the M1/A1//A19 to try Boro... they pulled out so he just headed north until someone seemed interested. With that strategy in mind, Aberdeen were perhaps inevitable.
  18. Best chance of shifting Erwin would be to the likes of Killie, who could afford a loan for him. He'd probably be fine at that level. Interestingly, arguably his most prolific spell came early in his career on a loan move to the current Championship leaders. Eight goals in 11 for Arbroath in 2013, apparently. Maybe they'd have him back.
  19. Disagree: I am strongly in favour of Pie and Bovril becoming a dispassionate, thread-by-thread digest of all events that vaguely relate to Scottish football.
  20. It's a competitive market and it's a lower risk strategy than paying cash outright.
