  1. Pep Guardiola would be playing Jamie McGrath as a false 9 in a 3-4-3. Just saying.
  2. I actually came here to ask if anyone knew how to cancel their SMISA? Is it just a case of cancelling the DD or do you have to contact them /jump through hoops as well?
  3. I guess we'll see how much of a chance Dennis has got when Brophy's injured. If he's still not getting a look-in then I can see him moving on. I still think he's our best natural finisher and our best chance of getting goals if we can get the ball to his feet/head inside the box.
  4. Precisely my thoughts. Sometimes good things come from unfortunate incidents. Perhaps this will be one of them.
  5. I read a rumour yesterday that Kibble 'leaked' the (publicly available) John Needham tweets. I mean, cmon tae f**k... Also, Bill Gates started covid and the East Coast roofers worked together to send storm Arwen.
  6. I've been hovering over the cancel button for a bit, mainly for financial reasons. Next few weeks could tip me over the edge.
  7. Perhaps because other teams have the good sense to come to our place and stop us playing
  8. Great post, as usual. All the relevant nails hit squarely on their heads. I feel I have to clarify that I don't want Goodwin out. The love I have for that man is frankly a bit weird. I want him to get better; to learn from his mistakes and to be less stubborn. Our club should be a place where talented young coaches can learn their craft and grow in the game. But that can't be at the detriment to the club. So far, it's worked out ok, but I can think of only a couple of examples of us approaching games with tactical flexibility - Parkhead the best example - aimed at beating the team in front of us. As I said yesterday, we are currently a worse side than the sum of out parts. We are awful to watch and I don't ever feel like we are likely to score. The biggest issue is that the failure has already happened now: those awful games against theoretical relegation rivals. In order to recover from that will require results against teams we don't typically get results against. It's not impossible, but it's very unlikely. If Ross County win their games in hand, they'd go above us (assuming we continue to lose). Imagine sitting below Malky McKay's Ross County at Christmas and still thinking we should give Goodwin time...
  9. Difference this year is refs aren't giving us those penalty decisions. Without that we appear to be terrible.
  10. Thing is, given the month John Needham has had, is he going to have any interest sticking his head above the parapet to make a tough decision before the January transfer window opens? I'd imagine the last thing he wants/needs is to have to draw any attention to himself right now.
  11. This shite cannot continue. We are significantly worse than we should be with the squad at our disposal and there's only one person can take responsibility for this absolute shambles. We were fortunate to stay up when we beat Hearts and the win at Parkhead, along with an absolute tonne of penalties, put a sheen on last season. We are simply not good enough and the dross fucking tactics and game management have to change or we're only going one way.
  12. If that young fan can control and kick a football then he's welcome to it every weekend.
  13. We are fucking murder. Absolute shite. If we lost every game in December with decent performances, maybe you could accept that, but we are fucking gash and there will be severe unrest by the end of this month.
  14. We are worse than the sum of our parts, which doesn't bode well for the management.
  15. Millar and Shaughnessy back in for us. This is good news. Now hope to f**k the back three are actually in their natural places.
  16. Just before Xmas last year he said he was really confident it was getting signed. Edit: found it: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/huge-boost-st-mirren-club-23202303.amp
  17. I was thinking back to that game and yeah, we weren't really worrying you at 2-1 - the red card was crazy and you completely lost the plot. In the context of our season so far, those three points have really helped to put a veneer on our position. St Johnstone had a mass heads-gone against us as well; I'm wondering if Goodwin's been passing on some of the darker arts to our players. I'll never forget how wound up Derek Adams got about him.
  18. We actually have a non-awful recent record against Aberdeen. We don't really play on the counter - we are typically decent for the back two thirds of the pitch in terms of possession etc. So a close game I reckon; 2-1 Dons if they manage to keep their heads.
  19. Jak Alnwick handing out telts in the Record today. One of the frankest interviews I've seen from someone at the club for a while. Good on him; I hope it galvanises us into better performances because f**k knows we're going to need it in December.
  20. Genuinely, I could make a strong argument that Curtis Main isn't significantly better than Junior Morias... I wonder how Greg Stewart is getting on in *checks notes* India. Killie fans swear he brought the best out of Brophy. Though not sure another non-scoring striker is what we need. That said, I remain sure that Dennis could be a player if he can get a run in the team.
  21. I'm clinging to our 'hard to beat' status as the only positive sign at this stage. The worst teams in those two tables you've posted have usually lost a good chunk more than five games at this point.
  22. This league is mad this year. We're still clinging to 8th with just three games won. It's nuts.
