  1. I think the game swung on those County subs, and also McGrath went off a cliff, tiredness-wise. The past 10 days he's had were bound to take their toll. Without his energy and movement, County dominated. Hilarious penalty appeal from Hungbo, by the way. To be fair, the only reason it might have been given was because the ref had been giving them that sort of shite all afternoon. That said, what a game that was. Generally really entertaining. I hope Tanser's hamstring is ok because he didn't look massively happy with that.
  2. We are utterly streets ahead of County here. I'd like us to get another one to put this to bed.
  3. That extra man in midfield is really showing for us, County can't live with Ronan and McGrath's movement and quick passing. Some save from Alnwick from that deflected effort to keep it at 1-1, too. I think we've looked pretty impressive, though it's a bit scrappy in places. We've played some nice passing moves and have let ourselves down with a couple of daft offsides, too. Not sure what the hell Baldwin was doing for that third goal, mind. He literally ducked out the way of the ball. Mental. Ethan is also getting better with every game. I feel like Power is the midfield partner he's always needed.
  4. I fancy us to do something here. I rarely predict wins for us. I'm going 2-0 Saints. McGrath (Pen) and the Brophy screamer we've all been waiting for.
  5. Goodwin says we've made the club's biggest ever offer to Jamie McGrath. We have zero chance of him staying, but I applaud the ambition.
  6. My only slight concern is that McGrath was reported to be tiring towards the back end of the RoI game last night, but he's turning into quite the athlete so I'm sure he'll be ok for the weekend.
  7. I honestly think we were expecting more bids for him in the summer than actually came in. McGrath/his agent were obviously keen on a move, hence the shameless last-minute hawking to Hibs, and I don't think we were being unreasonable in our circa-£800k demands. But for whatever reason, Middlesbrough pulled out late on and that was probably our best chance of getting decent cash. I think off the back of this international break, interest in him is really going to increase now. He really seems to have a bit of swagger about him now. Very bittersweet that we'll get f'kall for him, but I bet Dundalk fans probably feel the same way. He'll walk into a top-end Championship side, IMO, unless Celtic come in January and offer is a player as a makeweight, which I think is feasible.
  8. Yeah, a search for his name on Twitter basically results in a tonne of RoI fans drooling uncontrollably.
  9. We'll stick to the 3-6-1 that seems to be finding a bit of a groove at the moment. Ronan and McGrath playing off Brophy/ahead of Erhahon & Power. I really, really want Brophy to start finding his range. He's played well and I like him a lot: sooner or later he's going to top bin a couple and hopefully that'll help him relax a bit.
  10. Both fair points, but Jamie McGrath is leaving. We're not choosing between the two: the (hypothetical) choice in this instance would be Scott Allan or someone else. Or nothing.
  11. See when you put it like that, it's a shame Hibs are going to get blown out the water here because I'd bite their hand off for that Allan swap.
  12. Might we see a Lewis Morgan-esque situation whereby we still get a fee for him in Jan, from a club keen to jump the queue?
  13. League's still so tight, a couple wins will do that for anyone right now. I was disappointed Celtic got that winner today as they were firmly in our sights I'm still not 100% convinced by us or our performances but I'm more than happy with the points. If we can take three from Dingwall then we'll have had a very good first round of fixtures, self destruction at Parkhead aside.
  14. Didn't we play him on the right side a couple of times? I may be misremembering.
  15. I like Main - I really do - but as soon as he's on the park we resort to going long and it really doesn't suit either us or him.
  16. The sight of the Livi player - Bailey, I think? - getting injured off the pitch, and crawling back onto it to receive treatment and therefore slow the game down when his team are the ones chasing a deficit was fucking hilarious. Moron.
  17. I've been fairly critical of him, but Ethan was very good today. Really applied himself. The sort of workrate we need to see from him every time. Great result, though - bit of breathing space between us and the dross at the bottom of the league.
  18. Couldn't quite see how that stayed out, tbh. It seemed to take a weird direction after the shot.
  19. Yeah, though the arrival of Ronan has clearly been what was missing. Fairly damning indictment of Kiltie who was meant to be doing the same thing and was well short of the task. Today I guess it's a straight choice between Erhahon and Main to start, depending on whether we play two sitting CMs or two strikers.
  20. Assuming we'll stick with the 3-6-1 that seems to be allowing McGrath and Ronan the freedom to play. Though perhaps Main's physicality will be useful. Brophy has recovered from his genuine concussion and should be fit to start.
  21. Slightly strange move, that. Cruising to the league 2 title with Kelty is hardly going to give an indication of whether he's ready to step up next season, is it? On the plus side, he's not spending the season warming our bench, but if he's not troubling our first team when we're playing three CHs then when will he be?
  22. Seven days if it's a legit suspected concussion, but you're allowed straight back if you were just trolling Stephen Glass.
