Can only speak for Celtic but we currently have 3 in the team (Macgregor,Forrest and Tierney) with Johnston making the bench most weeks now. Ralston would have played a good few times as if he didnt get injured.For a team as good as our thats pretty decent, how many do you honestly expect Celtic to have? Rodgers has said there is talent in Scotland but its the players attitudes thats stops him from signing more scottish talent. This may be why he just doesnt chuck players in who attitude wise may not merit a chance and then think they have made it after a few appearances. I have a feeling putting some of them in league 2 and finding out they arent quite as good as they think they are may provide a reality check for them. I can understand why lower league clubs are opposed to Colt teams but to suggest Celtic dont produce much in the way of youth is a bit silly given it has been pretty much the hardest team to get in to in Scotland since the turn of the millenium yet off the top of my head since then McManus, Marshall, Beattie, O’Dea, Smith, Mulgrew,Miller, Maloney, Wallace have all contributed. Add in ones who didnt play much ( if at all) but we still made money are the likes of Sheridan and Feruz. We also made a few quid off the other ones so the academy can near enough pay for itself.

Looks like the Musonda deal is going to be 18 months? Pretty good going that. Some people might moan about getting loan players but quite simply we cant afford to pick up the sort of quality like Roberts and Musonda on permanent deals as getting Dembele was a bit of a fluke imo. Getting long term loans is the second best option. Gordon may play again this season now but we still need another keeper. Apparently loan signings outwith Scotland aren’t affected by the maximum restrictions so could pick up somebody half decent. Wasn’t too fussed about Hendry coming but given that Rodgers is looking to play 3 at the back now and Compper injured straight away we only 3 fit recognised centre halfs so might as well try and get him in now.

Agreed, financially compared to EPL we are relative diddys, we also accept bids coming in is inevitable if the team and players are doing well. Its standard to start off well below the clubs valuation to test the water I just find it amusing that scottish clubs seem to think it is unique to them when Celtic come calling.

Any bid can unsettle a player if they want to go. Same happened with Moussa, Gordon and Van Dijk before him, its not unique to diddy teams despite the greeting that goes on here about Celtic making bids for scottish players.

Will be interesting to see who we get in the next few days. We definitely need another goalkeeper as the young lad Hazard has gone on loan to Falkirk. We are also back to square one with centre backs with Commper getting injured. I was wanting Moussa to leave but not now Griffiths is injured. We now seem to be worse off after the winter break.

I said earlier in the thread that Hendry would be best staying at Dundee untill the end of the season as he hasnt played a great amount of games in his career. However given that we signed a defender who got injured straight away I cant see it being part of any agreement now. Defence was the biggest issue for us at the start of the window but now it appears to be needing a goalkeeper and a striker due to more injuries so you might find we will cool our interest a bit now anyway.

Hes apparently going for 6 million now so that might be why we aren't interested. Not telling anybody to be grateful just to be realistic. At the end of the day if they think they can get more in the summer then they can just say no again to the next bid. You only really get top dollar when an EPL club are interested as they are ones with cash to burn Im afraid. IMO he will go for 7 figure sum but only just. He does have potential but he is 22 now and couldnt get a game for Wigan, another reason why you wont get 'top dough'.

Some guy mentioned a few pages pages back the fact we the paid 4 million for Ntcham as a basis for Hendrys valuation. Ignoring that whilst he was playing in Serie A and for the french u21s, Hendry was playing league 1 football and is also older, they aren’t the brightest bless them.

Im pretty sure we could host the games in our own so hes right we dont need Rangers,especially for this. Imo When Rangers died the SFA could have had Ibrox and Murray park for relative buttons (5 million for the two I think it was?). The other proposal I think you are talking about is colt teams which others are making murmurs about putting one in as well, I personally dont agree with chucking them in league 2 though. What the SFA could do now is tender each game out and have QP,Sevco and Celtic flighting it out for the bigger games and have others for smaller games, so they get the best deal for each gamr and sutiable sized stadium for each game.
