  1. You mean Ibrox over Hampden? Better atmosphere, more pubs, better transport links for me. None of which is of great concern to the SFA though I would imagine.
  2. Whilst Celtic park is never going to win any architectural design awards, it is still great as a stadium for atmosphere and most seats have a far superior view than Hampden. The condition of it and the surrounding area seems to be picking up every season so the ‘shoddy condition’ doesnt really stand up Im afraid. Whilst Ibrox appears to be falling apart I would still prefer it for atmosphere than Hampden. It is also far easier to access. You also mention Hampden has a more modern feel to it, thats pretty low on my interests in a stadium. As for views Hampden in general has the worst out the three for me.
  3. Listened to the podcast of it and thought Lamberts knowledge of scottish football was pretty bad considering hes not been away for that long. Quite amusing going on about it needing to be scottish when you would think one of the benefits would be knowing the local game but thats not the case for a lot of supposed options.
  4. I take you haven't been to Celtic park for a few years, its looking better than ever with hotel/museum etc in the post.
  5. I would agree with this, he has football knowledge but clearly hasnt really given scottish football any thought since he left 2 decades ago. He's had development roles with the FAI in the past. If they are interviewing them for gigs (which I doubt) then they should be testing them on recent goings on in Scottish football before getting them on.
  6. To be honest putting the seats down have in the standing section have little difference. Im in the standing section at CP and people still stand somebody usually has a key to lock them back up again. Back to binning Hampden, it sounds like basically Hampden has become more costly going by recent articles. Choosing a stadium on a game by game basis sounds quite interesting from a fans point of view. For lower attendance game they can play Aberdeen and the two Edinburgh games off each other for the best deal. The same can go for the higher end with Sevco and Queens Park. When its a guaranteed sell out they can cash in with Murrayfield or Celtic Park.
  7. Bought two tickets for the Stirling whisky festival next with a tasting session on top. Been wanting to go for years but have always been working or on holiday. In other Gannonball whisky news I got a 25 yo ben riach at online auction recently, yet to try it though. Also did a tour at the Edradour distillery in Pitlochry when me and my mate were meant to be climing schiehallion but weather was shite. Would recommend it if you it if you are passing it, a really quaint picturesque distillery that tbey have spent a few quid on of late.
  8. Just because hes scored a f*ck tonne of goals previously shouldnt stop you from questioning his attitude and fitness. He can still be a lethal weapon on the pitch but he will always be an absolute weapon beind a mic or desk.
  9. We dont own Hampden either so we have to pay for that too. Cant see a massive difference paying for Hampden or Murrayfield to be honest so your first argument is invalid really. Regarding transport,Murrayfield has better transport links than Hampden as a whole with a main train station, trams and good bus services. It also has a decent sized bus park. And as I mentioned earlier the view is far from perfect at Murrayfield but having experience football games at both grounds I would say its still better than Hampden for that. Other than history Hampden really cant beat Murrayfield for any aspect that a football fan is looking for in a stadium. Thats not to say Murrayfield is fantastic for football, just Hampden is that sh*te.
  10. Yes Murrayfield for being a football ground it has its faults but having watched football there it is still better than hampden. You are srill far away but generally higher up so you get a better view. It being steeper makes it a better atmosphere too , has better transport links and more pubs near by. Its a no brainer for me.
  11. A wise choice, although when you're trying to get a pint before the football beggars cant be choosers. Not been back since they got a shitey republican flute band in before the football which seems to take up half the pub,the vibration from the drum would give the pints a decent head for a change.
  12. You have clearly not had a pint from the turnstiles outside parkhead. Spent the second half on the shitter. Whenever I went back there I stuck to bottles untill somebody misheard me a few years later and got me a pint, I then again spent the second half on the shitter and ran out of bog roll, grim.
  13. I dont even get why pubs sell bottles of beer that are available on draft tbh.
  14. I always drink pints but such is the shite standard of maintaining taps in Scotland I do get tempted to go for a bottle to be honest, especially when your in a dusty function suite thats not seen pint poured for weeks.
  15. I would say so, even if the SFA said games were being played at Ibrox with the premise it is maintained to a standard better than it is now it wouldnt bother me. It is a ground far better for atmosphere, more pubs and far easier to get in and out of which are my main concerns, couldnt give a hoot about hospitality etc. They could have got it on the cheap when Rangers died tbh.
  16. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/scotland/murrayfield-to-be-offered-to-sfa-for-national-team-and-finals-1-4598629 Hopefully the SFA go for it but I just see this as a bargaining tool for the status quo.
  17. Ok I have changed my mind Robinsons a w**k,nobody talks to my precious Pedro like that.
  18. Robinson seemed quite composed considering hows hes just got to a final and punted to the stand for next to no reason. Also seems to have next to no ego, especially when you compare him to his predecessor.
  19. Yeah seen thay before, its pretty horrific for MMA as they have less weight categories I think? Really needs to be regulated more.
  20. Yeah I have always felt it was a bit of an unwritten rule.
  21. I've heard people rave about the 105 but the bottle I have got of it is nothing special I thought, prefer abunadh as its more of a sherry bomb. I do have the 12,15 and 21 of Glenfarclas and love the uniqueness of each one. Need to try another Kilchoman as the one I got tasted almost grassy, was nice enought but I expected more.
  22. Having an aberlour abunadh right now . By f*ck I love it. Rather suprised it has lasted in my house for a good while. Got another on route from amazon delivered for 38 quid. Also same price in waitrose.
