  1. Looks similar to what happened to Bellshill Athletic.

    http://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=544

The guy McGhee got on the committee, had a property development lined up, convinced the committee to transfer the ground to him. Next day he transferred the ownership to a company in the isle of Man.

A year later he chucks the football club out of the ground.

But this is Rangers (I am serious) and yet we allow equally shifty characters to do the same.

I suppose I was forecasting this move earlier today on here. Friday comes and no application or documentation from Green to the SFA.

I don't approve of the Rangers Army threatening people, offering to do them or burn down their stadium. But sometimes you can understand. :(

  2. Dundee Mad has a thread about Sevco buying Cowden.

Exactly the scenario I visualised/fantasised about a couple of months ago, but I thought, no......they're in trouble but it'll never get that bad!

Cowden just seem so vulnerable, and there's the Findlay connection.

I'd accept that as long as the name was non-negotiable. So Cowdenbeath play at Ibrox. In Rangers' colours, yeah, that's ok too.

    Nah, dreaming again....

Findlay is bad enough but the bit that makes this more likely is the fact the Brewster bros own it. They will have a price. And if the price is right they will say yes.

Interesting that Bomber is proud of the fact that they have a legal eagle in their team to keep them right. Findlay specialises in defending the indefensible. People like Luke Mitchell, Tobin, Nat Frazer.

Good thing is they keep being found guilty when Findlay is at their side.

  3. Because of TUPE, the players do not have to agree to transfer to the new company.

If they DO transfer, it must be under their existing contracts. i.e. big wages.

If they DO NOT transfer, they are free agents.

The rules and regulations for TUPE are freely available. All you have to do is Google it and there are loads of sources.

    http://www.out-law.com/page-448

"Employees therefore have the legal right to transfer to the new employer on their existing terms and conditions of employment and with all their existing employment rights and liabilities intact "

But Green obviously has not even discussed this or explained it to those effected. And it is not just the payers. I think there were about 300 staff.

So why has Green not don't this? Ignorance? Unable to use Google? No lawyers or HR professionals to advise him? Doubt any of these.

My view is he is doing it so the players do walk and as many staff as he can encourage to go. He will throw his hands in the air and weep and wail, but the highly paid players walking away is an obvious consequence.

He ends up with Ibrox, Murray Park and the legendary car park, no SPL place, probably no SFL place, and a clutch of kids and has beens like McCullough. Unable to bring in new players.

At this point he will say they are not going to play in any league, transfer the assets to another company he owns and wind it up Sevco. He will be able to do this and pay all the liabilities of SEVCO for not a lot.

So his property company ends up with the things that are worth a bit and sellable. Maybe issues with Murray Park and SportsScotland though.

Green will be able to blame everyone else. The SFA, SPL clubs, SFL clubs, the players who walked. Everyone except himself.

So let us see if he gets his application in by Friday. If not he either has no consortium or one made up of those who are not fit and proper. Or no money.

By Friday evening we should know if complete closure as a football club is happening.

  4. Did the female debt guru on Newsnight a few weeks ago not say that "The Rangers" could only be a temporary measure and that when BDO moved in, one of the first things they would have to do was get another name that did not associate itself with the old company, so it doesnt look like they will be able to use anything with Rangers in it

It is only clowns like Green and the Bear Army that believe that passing off a new company as one that is renowned worldwide for sleaze and corruption is worth doing.

We want something accurate. No Surrender FC? We dont do walking away FC? Con Merchants FC?

  5. To Rangers and Celtic fans.

As a soldier on Call Kaye this morning said in connection with the Queen shaking hands with Martin McGuiness, it's time to move on, it's time to acknowledge past wrongs and move forward.

    He is 100% right.

Whatever happens to what was Rangers, now is a chance to look at yourselves and ask is this hatred doing you any good?

What is past is past, as you visit other clubs this season you'll have to put up with some stick. Take it on the chin and in good humour, in time it will pass and if your fans behave then you'll be accepted back into the fold.

Celtic fans, if you drop the political Green Brigade stuff and temper your sense of superiority, then likewise. In time you will be more welcome in towns you visit. is it not a good time to drop the IRA or FTP nonsense and recognize we're all human beings who enjoy watching the sport of football?

And if both clubs would be more welcoming of visitors then more will turn up to make a better atmosphere. TBH, the standard of treatment at Celtic Park and Ibrox is shocking.

It's time to grow up. Some will be beyond saving, but over the course the decent fans can drown them out and it will disappear for good.

Agree with the theory. But, but, but Rangers don't do moving on. Nor walking away. Nor humour. And definitely there is no chance of them surrendering.

And as for the growing up bit I suspect that is just a step too far.

  6. They just won`t die, will they?

Radio Scotland just wheeled out an eminent(?) sport solicitor called David Thompson who stated directors who vote against Newco despite being aware of the financial hit involved could be in breach of the Companies Act and could face possible action as they`re remit is to protect the Company and they cannot take sporting integrity into account.

Easy one this. Vote against the Newco as it is tainted, unattractive to sponsors. Their fans are louts and thugs (examples available from Manchester etc) who add additional costs to all games played (ask Strathclyde Police for figures) . Bigotted and racist (examples available), parcel bombers, who incresaingly will attract attention of the police with the new laws now in place. Also will attract negative attention from FIFA and UEFA, not to mention HMRC.

In other words nothing but trouble, trouble, trouble. Perhaps they might bring in more gross income, but the net income will equate to an additional cost.

Also their removal will attract more (normal) supporters to the game.

Next attempt please to defend the indefensible. :(

    Does Tennent's know about this?

If their name is being used with their approval, who exactly are they sponsoring?

Who have they paid, if anyone?

If they are not approving their name being used, how quickly can they stop it being exploited?

Does Tennent's want to be associated with such a tainted brand? Or even worse, associated with Sevco? :o

  8. enquiries@scotprem.com or possibly try neil.doncaster@scotprem.com

His former e-mail cockwomble@useless.c***s.com has been disabled.

Was wondering of Doncaster's salary has a 'bonus' element to it? Would make sense that when he came on board he had some incentive to increase the total turnover/income for all SPL clubs. This would be a mixture of sponsorship, gate receipts and TV income of course, and other bits and pieces.

This might explain some of his nonsensical utterances, which would have resulted in more money for him personally.

Can be something as simple as that which attempted to screw Scottish football for years.

Of course Scottish football will be here long after Doncaster has disappeared off to a better job elsewhere. He is of the 'here today, gone tomorrow' type.

  9. You`re all deluded.... I never realised that Scotland had so many legal experts and tax experts all playing on the same forum and don`t even get me started on the subject of "sporting integrity" experts. How do you measure sporting integrity by the way?

Judging by the way that the people charged with the responsibility of looking after the interests of their own clubs (ie Chairmen, Boards of Directors )and also tasked with the responsibility of running their own league, ie member clubs of the SPL, have been and are still currently behaving, then its absolutely no surprise that the Scottish game is in the state that it is. Greed, delusion, fear, self-interest, procrastination are just some of the character traits that are currently being portrayed by the afore-mentioned office bearers for each of the respective clubs. They are to busy trying to be seen to be pleasing the "rent-a-mob fan base" that have suddenly surfaced waving the sporting integrity banner in one hand and their club colours in the other hand. To pass a decision of this magnitude over to the afore mentioned rent-a-mob fans is nothing short of ridiculous (it`s also a breach of their fiduciary duties as a Company Director) It would appear that not one of them has had the courage to actually say "NO COMMENT " when being asked which way their club will vote on July 04th whilst at the same time actually then looking at all the COMMERCIAL implications of rejecting an application for NEWCO to join the SPL. By pandering to the rent-a-mob they are collectively signing the death warrant of the game in Scotland and consigning the SPL to years in the doldrums. I`ll guarantee you that all the so called "supporters" who have been on the forums, newspapers, radio etc over this saga will be the very same ones who will be on the same media vehicles a year from now complaining about the state of Scottish football and how poorly regarded we are by the rest of the world,we need league re-construction,oh woe is me, etc..................... do these so called office bearers currently charged with making these decisions today really think that all the rent-a-mob fans are going to be digging deep into their pockets and turning out in the middle of winter when moneys tight, Xmas is coming and the weathers crap because Dundee/Dunfermline/Club 12 are coming calling. The rent-a-mob fans will be out shopping with their wives, sitting at home on their key boards typing crap about something else, sitting watching the darts on TV.......the only thing they won`t be doing is out supporting their clubs. It will be a similar story in the last quarter of the season as well because 99% of them will have ZERO to play for. So by the end of the coming season each of the clubs (the ones that survive, because Administration is a heart beat away for at least 2 of them) will then see the real effects of the decision made this season. Budgets and revenues will be slashed to levels that will then finish the job of consigning the SPL to a level that it will never recover from. This decision will send ripples through the Scottish game right down to grass roots level so the SFL, Junior and Amateur leagues are all going to feel the effects of this decison for years to come.

Before the brain surgeons, doctors, protectors of sporting integrity,rent-a-mob start beating their key boards to death with their sarcastic, un-witty responses finished with just the right measure of bile, I`d like to point out that at no point have I condoned ANY of the actions of Rangers or the previous administration at the club. They will have to deal with the ramifications of their actions for years to come.In the fullness of time the criminal investigation will hopefully lead to the right people being called to account at all levels.

You should all be honest and admit that none of the current out pouring is being done in the name of "sporting integrity" or because you think that your club has been hard done to at some point by Rangers. You are being carried along with the mob mentality which says more about our current society than anything else has ever done in the last 50 years. I was fortunate enough to have played professional football at a decent level and I know what goes on behind the scenes of clubs up and down the country and some of it isn`t pretty nor legal. If you are all really hell bent on "sporting integrity" then you should now be lobbying the powers that be (SFA,SPL,SFL) to carry out an audit of ALL the member clubs on the same basis as the audit carried out on Rangers. " Without fear or favour " I believe was the phrase used by Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster on several occassions. Mr Regan and Mr Doncasters respective panels would be snowed under with the "prima facae" evidence of financial mis-management,contractual irregularities and overall general bad management at every member club. What then????

I have good memories from football and I`ll share those memories with my son`s and let them watch the DVD`s of what the game used to be like in Scotland. I`ll encourage them to play football and enjoy it for what it is now but I`ll also enjoy taking them fishing, golfing and any other outdoor pursuits that catch my eye because football at a serious level in Scotland is now officially in decline after the keys to the asylum were handed over to the patients.

Last one out please make sure you turn the lights off...........

Yes I think you are right to keep your son away from Scottish football.

Of course there is a lot wrong with it, and still will be after Rangers have been chucked out. They might not be banned this time around, but they will be soon as the next pile of funny goings on come to light and the fraud squad do their business.

Scottish football needs cleaned up, but you must agree the best place to start is with the worst offender. The one that by its behaviour volunteers itself as corrupt and dysfunctional.

So Rangers it must be. Essential it is torn to pieces as should those who made it happen be punished. As for those who allowed it to happen, unfortunately there is little can be done about that. There are just too many of them.

Hopefully you weren't one of those who stood on the sidelines watching, claiming you were unable to do anything as a famous club with over 100 years of tradition slipped into oblivion.

  10. Yes but these ideas of rangers loosing out to spartans or whoever are a bit daft IMO. teams are taken individualy on their merits since rangers have a top class stadium, full floodlights and undersoil heating, and a huge fan base they will walk it agaisnt the other minows on criteria.

Since they are a newclub who have walked away from all their shite its the way it should be and even tho ive enjoyed everything thats happend to them, i dont have a problem with them working their way back up, their a big club afterall in whatever form they return in

Assuming of course that Green and the many members of his consortium pass the fit and proper person test.

But before that can happen the names and details of the members of the consortium will be required. But I assume Green can provide that easily.

Bit like what the Germans said about the British Army in the first World War.

Lions (the soldiers) led by donkeys (the officers).

The Rangers supporters now led by Green & Co.

Ok Captain Green. Over to you.

  11. Nah. Aristotle defined the goal of tragedy as eliciting "pity and fear" in the audience. This spectacle has notably failed to elicit much fear and utterly failed to elicit any pity.

This is more Chekov, showing the failure of the once powerful noble class to adopt to a changed world in which the old certainty of serfdom was no more and the inability of people to confront unpleasant reality.

Does Murray Park have a cherry orchard?

What about Death of a Salesman by Bill Miller (US entrepeneur).?

Willy Loman (played by Charles Green who is becoming typecast in this type of role) flounders in delusion, thinking himself far more capable than he actually is, and the members of his Rangers family greatly suffer as a result.

  12. Tried to find a post about Fraser Wishart meeting with Hughie Green. But it is a hard job to slog you way through even the posts of one day.

In his statement Wishart says "PFA Scotland will meet with the players who agree to the transfer on their return to pre season training as our role is to ensure that all their contractual obligations are transferred with them." Add the words fully and correctly

"We will also continue to advise any member who wishes to take up the option of objecting as to his rights under employment law, a position which we have made clear previously and has not changed."

This is a polite form of telling Green he is now playing by TUPE rules and not the ones he has been making up as he goes along.

Result will be a clear out of those players who can find jobs elsewhere. Starting later this week.

Green has been so stupid about how to hang on to the players I can only assume it has been deliberate. <_<

  13. Integrity is name of our game

By jim Traynor on Mar 5, 12 07:30 AM inThe main currency, in fact the only currency any of us in the newspaper game should have in our moral banks must be integrity.

Without it we, as journalists, are of no use to anyone. We have no value. None at all.

Without integrity we fail our readers, our papers and our employers. But just as importantly we fail ourselves.

Integrity, honesty and the desire to call it out no matter the consequences is what defines us. Thankfully it's also what sets us apart, especially from all those 'brave' keyboard thumpers out there in the world of social networking sites and football forums.

They aren't governed by the laws which must be observed by newspapers like this one and are allowed to bash out the most insane, insulting, illogical and confused messages.

I shouldn't complain, though, because it all demonstrates their lack of intellect and common decency.

Which might explain why they prefer to hide behind anonymity or childish pseudonyms.

But sadly there are some high-profile football people using this gift as conduits for their own propaganda and if you've looked at some of these sites you'll know just how easy it is to influence and stir unrest.

There is certainly a lack of integrity in cyberspace but it's honesty that persuades the editors at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail to employ their journalists in the first place. It's why they trust us to make best use of the platforms given to us. link

Love Traynor's use of "intellect". What about the intellect of Gavin Berry (the legend) who thought Third Division Peterhead would somehow win the Second Division. Or Chris Roberts last week, who sounded like a Primary school pupil when he gave his reasons for Newco being re-admitted as his friends and family live in Manchester and they are only interested in watching Rangers and Celtic. Or just employing Gordon Parks. Enough said.

Oh, by the way Traynor, score just in...

    Forums 1 Record 0

What a fat arrogant plonker. Hopefully my message is neither confused nor illogical.

I am not sure how Traynor judges intellect or common decency.

If we look at academic qualifications I would guess many posters on P&B have decent first degrees, others with PhDs or are members of professional bodies. People who have owned and run successful businesses. Some even journalists.

Many will have families and their own children whom they would like to see enjoying football, in a safe environment that is welcoming to all.

These are the motives that have helped drive this forum, and sustained the consistent messages about cleaning up and improving Scottish football. That Rangers, their supporters and the influence they had directly and indirectly was the barricade that got in the way, and was the issue that united what might appear to be a disperate lot at first glance. And of course the unquestioning supporters of Rangers were not just big fat guys wearing a blue shirt.

That is why it is so rich and disengenuous of Traynor to claim we should accept any of the offensive labels he is throwing around in all directions.

Lashing out like that in no ways reduces his culpability in shoring up the corrupt, evil and cheating body that was Rangers. He had many years to deal with it. And please don't pretend he didn't know. I knew years ago and I am neither a journalist nor involved in any club. But the label as one of the succulent lamb brigade will stick to him forever.

Not sure what the Daily Record or the BBC pay him, but it is too much.

On your bike Jimbo, you are past your sell by date.

  14. We all know that what they should be investigating is how the club was run long before Whyte ever appeared as a billionaire. Maybe better coming from another Police Force and NOT Strathclyde?

Good idea but non runner I think.

Next April is the target date for a national police force http://www.scottish....ills/45701.aspx

Whoever gets the post as heid polisman for Scotland, we can make sure Rangers is number 1 on his todo list.

And he can put out a Most Wanted set of posters at the same time.

  15. SSN- "what do your consortium say about this news?"

CG- "Feck knows I dont know who t'investors are "

SSN- "what do your consortium say about this news?"

CG- "Feck knows Craig Whyte has his phone switched off today "

Btw has anyone ever seen any 2 of David Murray, Craig Whyte or Charles Green in the same room together, at the same time?

They might sound different but a no nonsense Yorkshire accent is easy to do.

  16. Hughie Green coming up on SSN shortly. Jim White is in the chair...................................

Hope he asks them whether he has paid his power bills for Murray Park. And whether the players who turn up on Thursday can expect hot showers or freezing cold ones?

Hughie should get a copy of http://www.amazon.co.uk/Floodlit-Dreams-Save-Football-Club/dp/1416511458/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_2/276-2933210-7580168

"FLOODLIT DREAMS is a compelling journey into the hinterland of the beautiful game. "

Suitable as it is obvious to all that Rangers or Newco 1 or Newco 2 are now in the hinterland of the beautiful game. :(

  17. CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION ORDERED INTO RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB ACQUISITION AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

The Crown Office has today instructed Strathclyde Police to conduct a criminal investigation into the acquisition of Rangers Football Club in May 2011 and the subsequent financial management of the Club.

The investigation into alleged criminality follows a preliminary police examination of information passed to them in February this year by the Club administrators.

The Procurator Fiscal for the West of Scotland will now work with Strathclyde Police to fully investigate the acquisition and financial management of Rangers Football Club and any related reports of alleged criminality during that process.

Looking in the wrong place guys. Smacks of Strathclyde Police deciding they need to be seen to do something and after last Friday night's Masonic meeting, this is it.

"criminal investigation into the acquisition of Rangers Football Club in May 2011 and the subsequent financial management

to fully investigate the acquisition and financial management of Rangers Football Club.....alleged criminality during that process."

And guess what - Whyte will carry the can. Guilty of buying the club for one pound. He deceived Sir David.:o

The good thing from the Strathclyde Masons' view is that such investigations can take years.

We all know that what they should be investigating is how the club was run long before Whyte ever appeared as a billionaire. Maybe better coming from another Police Force and NOT Strathclyde?

  18. Dear Shareholder/Season Ticket Holder,

There are three options to which you should respond

1 - YES - the "New" Rangers FC should be admitted to the SPL in order to avoid the SPL being in breach of its contractual obligations to "Sky" and other commercial partners

2 - NO - the "New" Rangers FC should NOT be admitted to the SPL under any circumstances, regardless of the consequences for Kilmarnock FC

3 - YES - subject to the "New" Rangers FC accepting a range of sporting and financial penalties (short of exclusion from the SPL) for the wrongdoing of the owners of the "Old" Rangers FC

AND undertaking to support reform of the SPL's voting structure, the "New" Rangers FC should be admitted to the SPL. Please include 1-YES or 2-NO or 3-YES in your subject heading which will help us to evaluate the responses

    Yours sincerely,

Cut out some of the above text, obviously written by a lawyer in an attempt to send us off to sleep. But the truth is in there somewhere.

As a specialist in armed bank robberies, I have carried out a big one every year for the last 15 years or so. Never been caught :D until this year.:(

I have found the police, the procurator fiscal and the banks to be extremely understanding. I really did need the proceeds every year to maintain my lifestyle and to keep up with the Joneses and especially the Greens. Well not just keep up but show them a better lifestyle. And I had a bunch of kids to support. About 40 of them you must understand. I call them 'my squad'.

And none of the banks ever told me that robbing banks was wrong. Am I supposed to find out for myself? :o

So my understanding is that the Procurator Fiscal is giving the banks I stole from various options.

Should I go to prison for life? Sent as a criminal to Botany Bay? Or change the law so we all can understand better that bank robbery is not a good thing and tell people like me not to do it again. Or else!!

The banks are going for number 3 - for the overall benefit of society. It will make the world a better place. Some of the people I shot are complaining, but there are always casualties along the way in this tough old world. Some have been quite cruel to me, not really spending any time understanding the pressure I was under at the time.

Fortunately it looks as though I will be allowed to keep the proceeds of the bank robberies. I have spent all of it after all. Except for the amounts I put into my wife's name, and also transferred my nice big hoose into her name too. Nice not having to pay it back.

I will be a good boy in the future and I am sure my wife will be a nice person for the banks to deal with in the future. ;) So a sincere thank you to all those banks and their customers.
