  1. There's a reason Hughes decided we were better off sticking with an ancient crock between the sticks when we were promoted. Hill is utter shite. Still, it's not a Falkirk thread if Kiddy isn't posting youtube clips or getting hard over another failed youth player.
  2. I knew his name, just didn't want to be a dick about it
  3. No. We had the odd 1-0 win or 0-0 draw but there was no run of unbeaten matches. He played 11 league games, we lost 6 of them (not heavily), drew twice and won 3 times (2 clean sheets). I think his last match might have been when he and Hughes chucked it up in Inverness.
  4. Olejnik faced the OF twice when he managed into the team. He conceded 3 goals against them, 4 less than Krul conceded in his 1st match against Rangers. One team Olejnik didn't face that season was Gretna. Krul managed to let in a few against them. You can take the stats for both keepers and make the case for and against. We won more games with Krul in goals but we also lost far more than when Olejnik played. One thing that can't be denied is we were a far better defensive unit in 2008 than we were in 2007. We might not have won as many games but cutting out the inexcusable defeats to the likes of Gretna and St Mirren had us pushing for the top 6. The point I'm making is that, although Krul is a much better keeper, Olejnik was (and still is) a young keeper that Hughes fucked over more than once. He was in great form until Hughes folded under pressure from Magilton. I'd be surprised if Pressley replaces Olejnik effectively.
  5. The boy who cried wolf. It's about a guy who talks so much shite. So much shite that the one time he's talking some sense, everyone thinks 'Nah, he's just talking shite again'.
  6. It's easily done. He's the Falkirk version of the boy who cried wolf.
  7. I think Kiddy is trying to say we were better without Krul, rather than poorer. Unless you are saying our up turn in results post Krul was more to do with the absence of Thomson and Higdon? 2007/08 Krul 22 games Conceded 37 (1.68 per match) Won 40.91% Drew 18.18% Lost 59.09% 59.09% unbeaten Olejnik 13 games Conceded 9 (0.69 per match) Won 23.08% Drew 38.46% Lost 38.46% 61.54% unbeaten Olejnik's return to the team coincided with a tightening up of our defence and a run of results that saw us one game away from a top 6 finish. It was this spell that saw us go from a team comforatbly clear of Gretna into one that could push the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen. It was at that point that Hughes replaced him with a loanee from Ipswich who had retired from the game within 12 months Krul is an undoubted better keeper than Olejnik but he let in a fair few goals in his time with us.
  8. I'll need to look into it but didn't we go on an unbeaten, clean sheet run when Olejnik was restored to the team post-Krul?
  9. I'll start. Hill was never the equal of Ferguson, even when the Bionic Man started to cost us games.
  10. Do we know if they Olejnik and Finnigan were offered reduced terms? I'd have kept both.
  11. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo You're the second guy on here that thinks administration is some kind of magic wand. It's an idiotic premise.
  12. Me too but it won't be pretty and we still won't go up.
  13. Khakis was apparently always an emergency, last minute signing so I'd expect any new signings to be of a much higher standard. Like Higgenbottom. I'm perversley looking forward to it.
  14. I managed only two miles out of an eight mile run when I was tapering shortly before the marathon in 2008. I wouldn't worry about it at this stage as long as your training up to this point has been spot on. Just take it easy over the next week. I'm a last minute entry to the relay and I'm off work sick at the moment. Slightly worried at this point. Any suggestions for our team name?
  15. I have to admit, given a second thought, I'm pretty concerned about our goalkeeping situation. This is only in light of Pressley's track record of ning new players.
  16. I'm genuinely saddened to see Finnigan go. I expected the other to leave though.
  17. You'll be fine Debs. I had my first game of Hockey in over a year last night. I'm hurting all over and have a run planned for 10 this morning.
  18. Yep, me too. Eagerly awaiting my 5th rejection in October. If that happens though I'll be taking up a Loch Ness place for 2012 through work.
  19. London Marathon 2012 ballot opens 26.04.2011.
  20. That's another 6 miles that Nizzy and myself bagged this morning. Highlights include running through a cemetery and taking in the breathtaking Grangemouth scenery.
  21. Here I go from boom to bust again. Has anyony ran or been to the Loch Ness Marathon? My work has places up for grabs in return for £75 charity donation. Sorely tempted.
  22. I have a hunch that Pressley could make a manager one day - do a Paul Lambert. He needs to get his head out of his arse though and exit 'player mode'. His time at Falkirk has certainly come to an end.
