Walking Down The Halbeath Road
DAFC. replied to Parscelona's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Ashcroft, Bene and Fisher/Ottoo/Breen would be a fantastic back 3 at this level. That is if McPake is willing to continue with that formation. Still think a midfielder should be targeted. -

Loan deal for Lee Ashcroft agreed in principle. -

McPake saying they are still looking to add to the squad in the pre-match interview. No mention on how many though or positions. -

If we can get 3 loans in then Stevie May, Lee Ashcroft, and a central midfielder would be most welcome. Can't think of any midfielders though. What a shambles of a season. -
Dunfermline (9th) v Arbroath (10th) 17th Feb
DAFC. replied to RedLichtie86's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Without any decent midfielders being added to the squad, I'm not confident of anything more than a draw. Our midfield is weak as piss, half our 1st choice defenders are out, and we haven't scored a single goal in well over a month. -

Am I right in thinking we can get another 4 loans in then? As long as they play in the SPFL? -

Aye, Dundee have a shit-tonne actually! I always thought you were only allowed a certain amount. Looks like we could get one or two more then in theory? Really hope Ashcroft is one. -

Lee Ashcroft, I think, is now back to playing second fiddle to Rickie Lamie. I'm not sure how that one flies given we have used all our loans? Edit- In fact, what is the maximum? I thought it was 6 but I have seen info online that it is 7. -

Also can't believe we are going after Chris Kane. A striker that doesn't score goals! Ffs we have enough of them at the club! -

No-one really knows what is going on. But clearly it is a shitshow. Genuinely thought we turned a corner from the Hughes/Grant era, but we are right back in the same shit again, albeit with a better chance of staying up. -

Lots of absolute wrong uns have considerable amounts of followers on X. Doesn't mean they are right. He's seen our form and just put two and two together. If we go down we should have enough about us to bounce straight back, but f*ck me our finances would take a hammering. We shouldn't be accepting this though. It's dangerous when apathy takes over from anger, right enough. EEP will be absolutely toxic on Saturday if we lose comfortably again. Can't see how he keeps his job if we lose. -

He'll go to Queens Park. It's centre mids we are needing. Allan and Chalmers? Be as well playing with cones in the middle. -

What I want to know is, why is there now a sudden, mad rush for experienced players? Surely it was well known that was required in January. Club is absolutely wild at the moment. -

Can't remember if it was the 3rd goal or 4th in that 5-0 drubbing to Accies, but it is probably the best goal I have ever seen in the flesh. All the home fans stood up, applauded it, boo'd like f*ck, and then fucked off out the stadium. Ah, memories. -

This is verbatim from McPake, as I don't want to put myself through that latest video again: "We've all been on these runs and ended up relegated, but that won't happen here" -

There are some whispers going about that we have lost an absolute shittonne. I totally expected that given the disaster of the last couple seasons, but it is meant to be a lot worse than feared. -
Arbroath should be fired up for the next match given what McPake has said after the game at the weekend. Can genuinely see you guys hounding us. You get a major boost and we continue to sink.

Dick would have been the man should McPake go, but that's obviously not going to happen. No idea who the club goes for if McPake is sacked. Probably end up being Meggle the way things are going. -

In that period the club almost died (we saved the club unlike certain institutions) Bar a couple decent seasons in the Championship, it has been mostly utter turd in that period. I am not counting seasons we romped the league in League 1; a club with our resources should be smashing that league without much effort. The club is run so poorly. We constantly shoot ourselves in the foot with the decision making, and absolutely do not deserve to be a Premiership team until we get the decision making sorted. The teams you allude to have done things the right way in terms of their decision making. I honestly think we are the worst run club in the country. With all our resources and fanbase, I just can't fathom how poor we are. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. No-one has a God-given right to be in the Premiership, but all the tools are there for us to be getting there and staying there. It is so sh*t being a Pars fan at the moment. -

Yes, but we won't. It's ok though, he said we won't go down anyway, so it's all good. For me that post-match interview just screams of desperation. We 100% are in a relegation dog fight and can be relegated. I'd say there is a good chance of it at this rate. -

McCann is a weird one. Total boss in League 1 and he was doing well at the start of the season, but he has dropped off. He has something about him though that another club, with the right set up, could nurture. -

Paul Allen is nowhere near good enough for League 1 never mind Championship. Chalmers is good in a team that dominates games as he is quite good at manoeuvring the ball, but when you rely on him in this league where a bit of dig is needed, forget it. McCann I don't think has it at all at this level. Wighton can blow hot and cold, but he is another that I wouldn't be sad to see go. He'll be on a fair whack too. I'm not going to sit and slag young boys on loan players from England that aren't good enough, as they've been thrown in to a situation they are clearly not up to by the club, but they are just nowhere near what's required. With that, I think players like MOH, Comrie, Hamilton, Otoo, Edwards are good enough for this level, but are just not performing at all. There is a definite imbalance throughout the squad that needs addressed. No idea how the f*ck McPake does that, but he needs to somehow or we will go down, it's as simple as that. -
