  1. One thing that always amazes me about Scottish football is the lack of links with other (foreign) clubs. Were we not meant to have some kind of link with AC Milan, Ajax and an English team (can't remember who)? Surely we must have contacts across the leagues and they'd be willing to put players on loan? I suppose we tried that with Ricardo Calder, but there's got to be more out there. I hope McCann can bring in some good loan signings this season, as the bank account appears to be em— HURRY UP AND SACK TOM HATELEY.

Sorry, I don't know where that came from, but I'm going to leave it there. Feels wrong deleting it.

    Thank you.

Don't know about the Stewart one but Charlie Adam is definitely in Dundee just now, has been for a few days, visiting family.

I'd chop off my ear and throw it at a prostitute if I thought that would get Charlie Adam to sign for Dundee.

Unfortunately, gestures like that only seem to be received by negative press and/or a restraining order. Modern life, eh.

    Thank you.

    A perfect start.

We can do these as limited editions, with this one being; 'The DEEJANGO GIRFUY Wagner Special Edition' of 50.

I'll build a website to sell them on. Reckon a tenner is a fair price?

Fucking Arab b*****ds. Get it round you.

Is this a scarf idea, NDD?

    Thank you

  4. In other news, I've been having a think.

This year, I'd like to do something a little different to make some money for the club. Until this morning, I was thinking I'd illustrate (properly) and print some posters of famous Dee's... potentially from our Hall of Fame. Maybe one every season, then do it as a long-term thing. But then, this morning, I had a brainwave. Or a stroke. I'm not sure which as of yet.

My idea is this: let's communally design some scarfs, get them printed and sell them online to the various busses and supporter clubs. I'm thinking along the lines of 'No DABS at Dens', 'Willo Flood, Goblin Princess' or 'Jim Duffy shagged your gran'.

These would cost approx £250 for 50 (about a fiver each) and sold at a tenner each, with the profits going to the club. I'd rather have a bit of fun with it this year, rather than simply sponsoring a player. Plus, I'd like to see the Derry lined with 'Simon Murray, Ginger Loser', etc.

    Thoughts?

Starting to feel like we are falling behind in our preparations and the only rumours we've heard so far is for the Rat to become our assistant, an old non-entity of a CH at St Johnstone potentially becoming our assistant and finally a keeper that wasn't good enough for us originally, that has just been relegated from the 5th level of English football being linked with a return.

    It's upsetting.

Thankfully, the media have failed to get a single thing right for about a year now when it comes to us so I'm still holding out hope. I'm desperate to hear some form of news though!

That's harsh in the extreme. Kyle was a capable keeper and he did a job. He made some important saves that season. I'd welcome him back as a second choice keeper.

    Thank you.

ETA: Just read that properly. Thought you said 'wasn't any good the first time'. Point still stand, though.

I've considered myself fairly neutral for the last few years of living in dundee but was at 8 home games this season. Currently being persuaded to buy a season ticket. How many games would you have to go to to justify a season ticket? Or how many could you miss to make it not worth while, as I'll definitely not be at all of the games.

Welcome aboard the Derry Express. Hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times and be particularly aware of the glow-in-the-dark, Lorraine Kelly watching troglodytes from the Outer Anguses.

    Thank you.

Thanks for trying - just do the main Samaritans page if that's easier. I've donated to Myeloma UK now, screenshot below.

Good luck with next season guys, thanks for not taking Jack.

    Here we go, mate.

Good luck to you too. If you keep the DABs down again next season I'll consider turning this into a monthly donation.

    Thank you.

I'm a good guy, so I will donate the tenner to Myeloma UK anyway, if you uphold your end of the bet.

    :)

Of course I will. On it's way now, screenshot to follow.

ETA: there is no option to donate direct to the branch. I've tried phoning them but they're all engaged, you happy for me to donate straight to the main page, or shall I wait until I can speak to someone? I feel like St Mirren fans might need need the place in the cue ahead of me.

ETAA: I've tried four times now. I think Jack Ross must be holding the line up now that McCann has taken him job offer away from him. As mentioned before, happy to donate to the main Samaritans page if that works.

    Thank you.

  9. Some of us have other people working for them while we browse the internet, register funny domain names and order pointless things via Amazon Prime.

NB. To the other Paisley folk trying to muscle in on Coventry Saint and I's wager; you can either find another Dundee fan to match the bet or put your money on the lottery. You've as much chance of wining.

    Thank you.

Eh it's pretty clear to me he ain't going anywhere from that statement - he doesn't need to say he ain't leaving as he clearly hasn't been considering it.

£10 charity bet says that Ross will be announced as the next Dundee manager. You game, big boy?

    Thank you.

How? They spent an entire week pumping out the rumour they were signing him, St Mirren made a statement saying they'd rejected Dundees offer, Dundee fans continued with the rumours that they'd agreed a deal. Now we've got Dundee fans pumping out rumours they're getting Ross, St Mirren have made a statement saying they've rejected Dundees approach, and we'll no doubt still get stories about him joining them.

Booooooooooring. Do you not have fields to tend?

  12. Am I the only Dundee fan that isn't overly fussed about Jack Ross? I'm obviously willing to get behind him (if we appoint him) and I'm certainly not against him, but I wouldn't be paying over the odds to get him. It goes without saying that I'd take him ahead of Duffy, Rae and the other names that get thrown about and I don't have a better name up my sleeve... but I've got to believe there's someone better out there that would be willing to take the job.

That being said, we're not exactly an appealing club at the moment. Given the current squad and contracts, Ross is probably the best we can hope for.

I really hope Nelmsy decides to rip some of those deals up. Won't happen, though.

  13. It's true. Everyone wants Wighton to come good, but I think it's time to get real; so far he's looked totally lost. You forget he's even playing at times.

He still relegated the DABs though, so for that reason we should probably keep him around. If he has another beige season I agree he'll be off to Gayfield or Station Park to play mahjong with Bryan Deasley et al.

  14. Alright. Now that this fucking shambles of a season is done with, lets play a game. I'm going to call it 'Keep, release, execute'.

The context: New manager; clean slate. Let's assume that everyone is on a one year deal with a cheap get-out clause if we don't want them. Going through the current squad list player by player, who would you keep, release or publicly execute? There is only one rule; you get three executions; no more or no less. You must pick three and explain why. Executions take place outside the Caird hall, where a stage and gallows will be set up.

    I'll get us started:

Scott BainKeep; provided he grows up and takes responsibility for his performances. He's a good keeper but has a questionable personality. Seems like a bit of a p***k, but with a clean slate, I reckon he could regain his form and make us forget this seasons blunders.

Kevin Holt Keep; has been a solid performer, even if he's like a rabbit it the headlights sometimes. Has really improved this season, particularly when he gets forward.

James Vincent Keep; has been decent this season, looked totally knackered towards the end though. Would have him on the bench.

James McPake Release; literally no idea what he's going to give us next season. Getting on in years and a horrible injury record. A good player on his day but I don't think we'll see that again. Get rid, IMO.

Darren O’Dea Keep; I personally think he's a bit of a donkey at the back, but he's probably our best CB. We need to seriously strengthen this position, someone tall and quick to cover for his positional gambles.

Tom Hateley Execute; Hateley offers nothing to the team and is a big drain on resources. Slows the game to a crawl, where we're soundly beaten.

Nicky Low Release; there's a player in there somewhere, but he's had his chance IMO. Get rid.

Rory Loy Keep; I think with better management and a proper system (two up front) we could get a lot more out of him. Would like to see him in a Dundee shirt next season. Doubt that's possible now, though.

Danny Williams Execute; another one for the gallows, I'm afraid. He's offered very little and has looked terrified playing in-front of the Derry. See you in Hell, Danny.

Mark O’Hara Release; another big donkey that contributes very little IMO. I initially liked him, but at this point I don't think anyone has a clue what his position is, including himself.

Julen Etxabeguren Release; has come on to a game at times, but I'm not convinced he'll ever improve enough to become a consistent first-team defender.

Nick Ross Keep; as with Vincent, I think he's a handy player to have around the place (probably mostly used as a second half substitute) and he looked a bit of a revelation after the split. At times.

Paul McGowan Release; I'm sorry Gowser, but you've had a rotten season. I know you put in a lot of effort, but you've been fucking shite. I also think you probably just piss off everyone else in the team and quite possibly contributed to the toxic atmosphere pre-McCann. Just a hunch. You'll always be Our Friend, though.

Yordi Teijsse Release; I feel a bit sorry for him, was a bit of a poisoned chalice coming into the team with little to no experience. Again, thanks but no thanks. Also, he's too ugly to be a Dundee player.

Faisal El Bakhtaoui Keep; I'd build the team around him TBH. If we started to play a style of football that he'd at least be receptive to, I'm sure the goals would come. Hoofball doesn't suit him (or Loy for that matter). Knock the ball about in the opposing third, pressure their defence and the mistakes will happen. He'll bang them in.

Marcus Haber Release; total carthorse. The initial 'big man up-front' effect wore off after 4-5 games, he doesn't even win the headers any more and when he does, literally no-one has a clue where the ball will end up. Couple this with the fact that he looks and moves like a knackered old dairy cow, barely scores and insists on wearing gloves in the middle of May, it's a goodbye from me. Thank you, but no thank you.

Henrik Ojamaa Keep (if possible); I know he's a loanee, but I'd like to have him around. Looked nippy when he first joined, but obviously wasn't ever fully fit. Looked absolutely awful the other day against Caley... I'd be willing to take a punt on him though if we could get him tied up.

Kostadin Gadzhalov Keep; I'm not one of his fanboys (and there are a few), but I think he'd do a job as a supporting CB. One for the bench and he's cheap.

Cammy Kerr Keep; clearly our best player this season. Runs through walls and is still improving. Like Holt, I love it when he puts his head down and bombs up the line. He still makes mistakes but he's young and appears to learn from them. Even when he gets beaten, his pace more than often covers for it, gets back and makes the second tackle.

Craig Wighton Release; I'm going to say it, Craig Wighton is shite. He's really disappointed his year. Aside from relegating United, what has he actually ever brought to the team? I'd love him to be the next Ronaldo, but he's got to start showing a bit more desire.

Kevin Gomis — Execute; Sorry Kev, I had one execution left and it's gotta be you. Has shown a bit of quality at times, but more often than not he's been a complete fucking shambles. We also have too many Kevin's at the club, and I'd rather keep Holt. Goodnight, sweet prince.

ETA: Have I missed anyone? I left Curran and Colquhoun out as they've not broken into the first team yet (properly).

    Thank you.
