Nice to see someone else doing Prime Icon Fraser. I've significantly overpaid, but I don't care. He's outrageous. His finishing is just...ooft. He's saved my weekend league too. 2 in 6 last night and I honestly dominated stats on all of them. Same pattern on all games - race to a lead, then gradually fall out, let them back in, ultimately lose by one late on. Managed three tonight and three wins, 3-1,5-2,4-1. Only disappointment was the staunch bluenose rage quitting at 5-2 before I got the chance to score with Forrest

I've joined the WL fight for the first time in months in anticipation of a lot of jobbers joining up to try and get TOTS players. Doubt I'll get through the 30, but can hopefully get to a decent level. Hopefully fits in with a few of the objectives too.

  4. Looks like WWE is leaving Sky Sports, to be picked up by BT as the contract expires this year. Expect this won't mean a huge amount to those that don't watch RAW and Smackdown though. Live in hope that somehow they manage to get both of those on the network within a couple of days of broadcast, as then I'd actually be quite interested in watching (parts of) it, but expect there's far more than a Sky TV deal stopping that.
  5. I get the point about 4. If they made that game now, expect it'd be a lot more similar to RDR2 in terms of tone. Would be good to see it. Got to say, I played through (I think) the vast majority of 5. Never actually completed it (although I believe I got to the final mission) and to be honest outside of the main starting points, I'm not sure I could tell you what the story was. Quite a departure from the beautifully written story here.

I got Sule. Actually quite happy with that. Sacrificed the objective Onana in, so an 88 for a 90 is good going. Done with actually playing the game for the week though I'd imagine - should get Tier 3 on Rivals and completed all the decent objectives. Another horrible grind in Rivals to get that Spanish player.
  7. I think the Lesnar/Goldberg match worked so well as a sprint because of the explosive energy they could both bring. Goldberg is still capable of that in short bursts even at his age, and Lesnar is a genetic fucking freak. I'm not sure I could see a scenario where a short match like that would be any good with Big Marky Spooky Bones involved. Having said that, I'll take a plodding two minute imitation of the WM match you mention over a 30 minute drudge.
  8. I'd be interested to see what a GTA would look like if it was done with a serious tone like this was. Obviously it'll never happen, as people had a hard enough time adjusting to the slower pace in this, but a properly mature GTA with the same weight of story and characters could be incredible.

Very interested in that McGinn card, hoping for him out the EFL SBC that I'll do later.

MM used to be pretty much the main investment opportunity I seem to remember (even though I was shite at it). Then all year they make the requirements fairly laughable, probably to try and stop people hugely profiting. But aye, let's throw it away for a relatively minor league. There was a guy on reddit who bought 100 Defoe's. I joined the ranks of people breaking it to them that, no, it was not a good investment, and that Scottish gold players would barely rise because most people will just pick up 200 BIN bronzes to fill the requirements. Safe to say that guy had the last laugh coining in probably 8-10k on each of them. Knob.
  12. This. If he brings in a good striker - which, let's face it, we haven't done in a long, long time - then the decision will look a lot better. If he doesn't, it's been a bit of a f**k-up. Wild-card in it is how Doolan does at the next place. If he goes to a fellow Championship club and bangs in 30 goals, then questions will be asked.
  13. Apparently he's made a statement about it. It's a fairly identikit apology, but I like to think people can change. I expect for a lot of people it won't matter what he says, but maybe he was just a thick c**t back then who wasn't really exposed to much diversity. If he continues to have those kind of views, I expect he won't last much longer.

I probably put too many Celtic players into the SBC itself because I'm thick. Only had Rogic left. Insta-sold for 10k. Those crazy EA fucks.

Mate, I'd get pumped off of 400 Bas Dost for TOTS Forrest.

You're gonna be absolutely beeling when you get 400 Bas Dost, aren't you? I haven't saved any. While it's perfectly valid, and you're probably going to luck out, I've always rather played for the moment rather than always waiting for the next promo. Plus there's less scope for EA to fail to lube you up. However, I am sitting close to completing a few league SBC sets. I'm stacked high in high-rated players (probably got enough to complete a low-hanging Icon SBC) got 200k in coins, and 3200 players in the club. If I drop some coins now, should be able to get a good number of packs back and build from there.
  17. It's pretty much the same as the Erskine situation. I don't think he was playing too well when he let him go, and I said that I didn't agree with it, but if he brought someone in that could effectively replace him, fine. He brought in Cardle, who started really well, got injured, and then seemed to be used very sparingly. I think that was a decent enough replacement. We would've needed to find a pretty effective striker had Doolan stayed, but now it's absolutely vital. If he does that, then it's the right decision. Otherwise...
  18. There's a loooooong thread on reddit about it, which is going as well as you'd expect. Some pretty horrendous stuff he's said, but I'd be absolutely amazed if no-one in the locker room or management doesn't know. So maybe he's shown enough contrition for it to not be an issue for them. WWE are usually pretty touchy about powderkegs like that, I'd imagine if they thought there was any chance it would explode, they'd want to be well away from it. Still, he'll get dat heel heat, certainly.
  19. I'm really surprised about Doolan. It's clear he's not been at the races this season, and his often impeccable touch seemed to have deserted him for the most part. There were also a few occasions towards the end of the season where the Doolan of even two years back would have buried a chance. But him leaving seems incredibly sudden, and I don't think it's a good move. Earlier in the season the team was so frustrating in the way their style meant Doolan had to come deeper and deeper for the ball. That'd be fine in a 2 up front, as there would presumably be someone left up there to profit from it. Instead, we'd have Doolan spraying it out wide for someone (most likely Elliott) to fanny about with it, realise there's no-one to play the ball to and no-one making any effort to be that person, and the chance is gone. I always thought that if we could find someone to link defence and attack well enough, Doolan could spend his days camped in the box and take advantage of the finishing ability he's still got. Snatching at chances just isn't going to work for him. Still, Storey's away, so we've got that going for us. I'm not sure what "I should of dealt with it better" would involve, but I would have suggested he tried to play a bit better first. In all seriousness though, a very honest post from him. Never seemed to be a dick off the pitch or anything, it just hasn't worked out for him. Hopefully he finds a club where he can rediscover his technical ability.

Did the UCL Premium Upgrade once, only had to buy one player to make up the difference (avoided using the 89 Mbappe I'd got from the main upgrade). 85 MOTM Keita. Fucking meh.
  21. Yeah, I don't see the buttering up as being Brendan style lip service. I think he genuinely feels like he is Celtic. Maybe there's a degree of nervousness deep down, maybe he doesn't think he quite has what it takes to make it somewhere else, and is taking the comfortable option. Maybe he just really likes a haggis supper.
  22. So even if that is true, and it isn't just a "fact" you've pulled out in desperation, that would still make him unavailable, or at the very best unfit, for the cup final. Glad we've cleared that up.

I can't really see it happening, as I imagine even Sky Sports care more about the Scottish leagues than EA, but...ooooooft. I'm quite worried he won't get a TOTS either. They've put up that Community TOTS voting thing, and the only SPFL player is Callum McGregor. I *think* it's only players that don't have an IF, which I guess would rule out a lot of the more obvious players. Hopefully he gets a ROTW nod, or maybe that Scotland gets its own TOTS (unlikely). Think Forrest is the only guy I would instantly buy. I wouldn't expect him to be super expensive due to links (his MOTM is 35k in a week where you need to score goals with a MOTM for ojbectives) and he's likely to be, what, 89 at least? Ooooft again. Aye, everything went down last night. Similar on Friday I believe. Not a good weekend for them.
  24. I think we should go for Balatoni and/or Lyle Taylor myself. In all seriousness, I have a lot of faith in Caldwell with this regard. Archie acted quickly in some cases, but I don't think we ever went into the final days of transfer windows properly ready. We were always panic signing right at the end, and how many of those actually worked out? Caldwell's work in the January window bodes well - if he can get rid of some of the players that have contributed to this shit-show of a season, and get a rocket up the rest of them, while adding quality like he has already, we should be in a good position to challenge next season.
  25. So he could have had the op a week ago, and been back in time for the cup final in 19 days time? After an operation that's 3 weeks recovery time at best, and 6 weeks before strenuous exercise, aye? Did you even google it, Pep? Come on, you're better than this.
