Absolutely. I found in the past couple of seasons he was either being told to drop deep to get the ball, or had decided that the players behind him were absolute guff and he wasn't going to get the ball anyway. I really wanted him to be told just to stay forward and take advantage of what he's good at. His confidence clearly took a dip, and chances he would put away easily were getting away from him. BUT, if you can get him enjoying himself again, and get him playing the role he's best at, he's probably going to score a squillion (against us) and a fair few elsewhere.

Thought I'd posted this yesterday, but seems not. Just done my 29th,and somehow turned it around to 14 wins. f**k knows. Set in to just get the 4 and reach S1 and get to bed, but got the usual "aye, but..." thought. Luckily it paid off. 5 in 11 on Friday, 2 in 8 on Saturday (point of the quoted strop) and then 7 in 10 today. I should be happy, and I was when I got that final win, but I haven't had a WL that fucking dreadful ever. I usually enjoy the competitive nature, the tension, and I'm not one to just point to shitty gameplay. But this weekend was just utterly in enjoyable. Even today's wins just felt like getting clear and blootering shots in, no finesse, no skill, just hoping the opponent didn't realise I can't defend. I expect I conceded over 100 goals this weekend, and that's honestly not an exaggeration. Expect I scored just as many, but... Well that's just a bit shite. I'll do the odd WL if I'm off on a Friday or my wife's out over the weekend, but I wouldn't be bothered if I didn't see one again until 20 comes out.

Just about ready to f**k this controller off a wall. Just inexplicably bad. I was pretty much win loss win loss for the first 12 or so, but have since gone on the sort of losing streak I haven't had in ages. Conceded at least 5 in pretty much every game so far (earlier I was scoring more) and just topped it off losing 8-3 through 3 heavy deflections and 2 own goals. 7-12 now, fucking brutal.

Sbc Tierney does a good job at rb, Armstrong in a 433 as a link into an epl team and your pretty much sorted. Iv played with a Scottish /spfl hybrid from the start so can't wait to get a hold of this one. Yeah, true. Expect a lot will still thumb their nose at it. I'm surprised that his IFs didn't end up getting more expensive by how ridiculous they were. His MOTM 87 is sitting at 30k now. Granted there's much better options out there now but it's hovered around that mark for a while. So from someone who is fucking shite at trading, here's what I've done in anticipation of an SBC or an objective. Fucking hunners of Leigh Griffiths, all at 600. A handful of TOTS Super John McGinns, a couple Forrest MOTM and a few Robertson 83. Ideally they go mental and want a full Scottish 11 to get Forrest, in which case I should be quids in. Worst case I should be able to make all the coins back. Worst worst case, my 81k on Leigh Griffiths is safe to quick sell.

Hmm...that's a good point. I'm going to pick up a few Scottish cards in the hope that it's "Score/Assist x with Scottish players". If you fancy a flutter, you can bid Griffiths for the same price as he quick-sells, so absolutely zero risk if you get him for 600

I'd take that. I fully intend to buy him no matter the price, but I expect an SBC to be fairly reasonable. He'll be a cracking card, but you're going to really struggle to link him unless he switches sides and you can get him near Robertson/Fraser. Or Icons I suppose. Of course, if he's an SBC, then we'll probably get him on Monday or something, and I'll have burned the place down by then.

Ol' reliable Martin. He keeps Fraser in line. I'm sure someone said they kept the picks as TOTS until the game ended last year. Surely they'd do something like that, or at least some other attractive reward. If they go back to TOTW they may as well just can it. I'll say it, and expect I'll get shouted down for it, but scripting doesn't exist. Scripting suggests that the game is pre-determined, that there is literally nothing you can do to turn the tide. But you know what else makes it really hard to believe in? It suggests that EA have built a competent engine that can achieve all that. For me, what we have is a not particularly good game engine full of holes that they always struggle to balance. Couple that to a front-end that values aesthetics above all else, and you're going to have issues all over the place, particularly on the presentation side meaning the buggy output from the game engine struggles to be represented by a glitchy front-end. That's not scripting, that's just the game not being very well coded. Momentum, on the other hand, demonstrably does exist. It's often far too heavy, but I'm not sure the game would be that fun without it. Great for the people who are good at the game, but for the jobbers and scrubs it'd be deeply unpleasant, particularly with how fucking dreadful a lot of the community are. I understand why EA put it in, particularly with the huge audience they have, they want to keep the casual player interested. Why are the examples you've given "fraud"? The things you're saying they monitor - and remember, this is patents, not a design of how they're implemented in the game, if at all - are the same things that probably every website you visit either does, or would if they could. P+B could probably tell a third party more about you than EA's data on FIFA could, are they frauds too?

Could go either way. If there's nothing much on offer, you'll get far less people playing, and probably only the dedicated who are good at the time. This weekend's going to be full of wild swings, either playing absolute jobbers or getting pumped by the sweaties.

No fucking Bungle. Raging. Away kit is better than I thought it'd be. The rainbow parts are nice and understated, as they should be. Good they're there, but would've been a bit much as a big feature. Still though, they're both pretty fucking beige. Home top especially, seems like training wear with badges on. Still, doesn't really matter. Parents usually toss one of the tops my way at Christmas after spending ridiculous amounts on my wee boy, so it'll be good enough for 7s. PR-wise, it was a bit of a masterstroke. Gets a lot of attention based off a very zoomed in pic, and gets everyone waiting for the actual reveal. Especially given the away kit is pretty ordinary after all.

I got Mendy in one of the normal upgrades. Drop rate seems fairly high at the moment, which means most people will dog-pile on it, and it'll go down. Will try and fire through a few more tomorrow and see if I get anything better.

We can be happy enough that we're due a wee bit of money should he move given it's after the fact, and the deal we got was the deal we got, but we can also be forgiven for asking how the f**k that deal got made in the first place.

I've never really got on with any version of him previously to be honest. I know he's thought of as one of the best, but there just always seemed something missing. Only really got much out of his NIF last year I think. But this guy is unbelievable now. Should be for what he cost, but still.

Probably about as close to my end-game team as I'm likely to get at this stage, barring getting enough into my club to complete one of the big Icons. I scrimped my way to completing Mertens about an hour before he expired. Only played a couple of games with him, but he seems incredible. Was left pretty low on coins, but decided to cash in pretty much everything in my club that could be sold and ended up with about 400k (stacking up fitness cards helps), so brought in Ziyech on the right to play alongside De Jong. Still can't defend worth a shit, but boy is it fun going forward.

Highly recommend both Outlast games, particularly on Switch. Played them on PS4 and could appreciate them, but never really gave them much time. On Switch if you're playing in handheld, everything's much closer, and you're on headphones, and it's all just lovely.

Tierney 'cos he pure loves the Sellick, Forrest because he's only recently been anywhere near good enough to even think about a move, and McGregor probably because he's been there, done that and is coming to the end of his career. And all this. It's easy to look from the outside and talk about what a player should do, but earning a very, very comfortable wage isn't going to make all the things that affect normal people go away. You hear all the time about players who come up to a club while leaving their families at "home". Sure, they'll be earning great money, but it sounds like an utterly joyless way to live. Plenty will do it, of course, and a lot will get on fine with it, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that others have a real problem with that. There's far more to it than just football. Of course, it could just be that Tierney is a shitebag who doesn't want to be tested, but I expect it's far more complicated for him and many others.

With my personal opinion of it being the best game I've played? Yes, absolutely.
