EA have said that if you've got a Prime SBC version of an Icon that ends up getting one of these new cards, there will be "an opportunity to use the SBC item when the moments SBC gets released, later in FIFA 19". So no doubt a ridiculously expensive SBC needing an Icon and a 90 rated squad or something, and by "later", they mean once no-one cares anymore. EDIT: The Jaggy one beat me to it.

Could be right, but you could say that about any promo really. What's the point in buying any players now when TOTS is just a couple of months away? The upgrades you're actually getting by the looks of it aren't exactly earth-shattering. Icons are already so strong that you're not going to see a huge difference. If they only go into packs, then they'll be super rare, and probably worth far more than better players. I just feel like they'll be so far out of reach of the majority of players that it isn't going to make much difference in the long run.

For every person that's seething, there'll be a hundred who will pump money in to try and get the cards. I don't think EA really particularly care on the micro level, when the larger level is earning them squillions. To be honest, I find it hard to get that mad at EA. They're a business, and they've found an effective way of essentially picking people up and shaking them until all their money falls out. Until it's actually made illegal, fire in.

Seems unlikely to see someone who loves the spotlight as much as McMahon appearing on a B, but by all accounts she seems to really love Becky outside of kayfabe, so would probably want to put her over in this way.

This. It's a bit reductive to say that they should be concentrating on x and not y. Wrestlemania is like 40 hours long these days, you should be able to book the banter matches, the serious matches, the fun matches and everything in between and still have space for more. I don't think there's anyone on their roster, or on the fringes of it that they couldn't put their heads together and write a decent story and match for them, and I include Angle, HHH, Taker and all their like in it. Of course, they won't, because they really struggle to write...anything, really.

I restarted after getting, I think, 62% in. Caved and bought a PS4Pro after becoming sure that this game would murder by base console through sheer noise and heat. Thought it was the perfect opportunity to start and again and see what I've missed. f**k, is this game like butter on that.

I don't see WWE as having a "problem" really. No two wrestling companies are really similar, and they're all going to have their own styles and things. WWE are unique, nothing like NJPW and for the most part a million miles away from the indies. They can go shopping in these companies for the "best" wrestlers, and it would make business sense to, but there's no telling whether or not they'll be able to turn that skill into something that's useful for WWE themselves. I didn't see anything of Kenta/Itami before WWE (and not much in WWE either to be honest) but it sounds like he's been severely neutered in terms of style. Just isn't really a good fit for there. Nakamura's similar - he's been given opportunities and looked so exciting in NXT and the very beginning of his main roster run, but he very much looks like he's happy to rest on his laurels and let his body recover. And that's fair enough - if I was his age doing something so gruelling, I'd probably be eyeing up the future if I was on such good money.

They'll have to start putting some really tasty players out as SBCs soon the way they've been doing them so far. I expect that'll be me done for a while unless I get super lucky in packs again. Probably only really add to it once TOTS comes around.

Speaking of the above, team has had quite the makeover. Selling Maldini seems to be the right decision at this stage, given it's left me with 800k in coins, Nesta, Neymar and Shearer all in the door. I think I might just have enough left to do Figo, which would mean Keane would drop out.

I had him briefly but saw him as inferior to the beautiful b*****d that was Paolo Maldini who I packed, so I sold him again for the coins. However, I've finally realised I could do better than tying up 2m coins in one player, so I've punted Maldini and did the Nesta SBC to replace him. He'll be sitting alongside Baresi and Campbell in a 3, will let you know how he goes.
