I went after the Legendary Moose last night after ending up on his territory. Spotted him and readied the rifle, took 4 shots to bring him down. Unfortunately in the meantime he'd wandered into deep water. When he finally went down he was too deep to skin or move, so just had to watch him float away.

I'd like to think so, but given it's Brock, we've been here before. I guess they can see that at least he's looked strong in "beating" Strowman on the go-home, but it will be a bit of a piss-take if you're told you can't win, too wee, too shite, and then you go and prove them right.

Decided to play a game of Rivals to try out Icardi last night as I had half an hour or so to spare before getting into RDR2. Matched up against a guy who wasn't very good, I raced into the lead, then threw a cross in. SMS had a bit of a funny turn and launched himself like a fucking cruise missile at the keeper, who had since caught the ball, barging him straight into the goal. I laughed, expecting a booking, but got the goal instead. Funny, but not really fair, so when I got the ball back from kick-off I scored an own goal to bring it back to 2-1. The guy played the full celebration and replay from it, and after half-time he paused three times, taking the whole 30 seconds each time. Knob. So the remaining 45 minutes were a show of just how much of a dick I can be in retaliation.

Personally, probably more than I expect I have, but not that much. Typically, any time I do buy packs with FIFA points, I get sweet f**k all. I've had very good pack luck this edition, but every time (apart from a couple) I've got lucky it's been from SBCs. Everyone says it's Pay to Win, but that's not strictly true. You can pay 1000s and still not get anything. It's a tremendous business model EA have, no matter how shady it seems. Yeah, it's that clinical bit I'm looking for. Icons are overpriced, but a lot of them just have that extra "something" that sets them apart. Plus the extra chemistry they bring makes a big difference in being able to set your team out differently. I might try Icardi though, he's the one guy I never got on with early on, and I've never really gone back. Think it was probably his relative lack of pace back when that really mattered.

Finished Silver 1 again. With 4 games to go, and feeling like I wanted to launch the console at a wall, I needed one more win for S1 and if I could win all of them, I'd be G3 for the first time ever. Won the first then fully expected to lose the 2nd. Won that. Then got a rage quit in game 29 to need one final win. Of course matched up against a PL side (think about 25 of my 30 games were against PL sides) but one that didn't seem quite as good as me. Got the lead, they pegged me back. Then of course in the 92nd minute a spammed through ball went in, and they got the winner. I "dropped" the controller, almost woke up the baby and I'm never playing FIFA again. Until Wednesday probably. I think an icon striker is an absolute must now. Belotti doesn't seem to be as effective as he was, Ibra is obviously good, but fucking awkward. Cutrone was just fucking shite. I like CL Insigne through the middle, but I'd be a bigger physical threat than him.

Don't knock it, because... He is fucking shite. Essentially paying for oooh shiny. Although if he goes for the BIN I've listed him at ill make about 50k after sniping him this morning. I am so fucking shit this weekend though, so it's probably that. I've had four people immediately dc in the WL, presumably because they see my team and think they'll get pumped. Lol, playing yourself mate, I'm fucking shit. I'd say 90% of my goals are sweaty finesses that you can do nothing about, by epl players. Just so boring at times

I came up against a team with prime Ronaldo in the WL last night. Had quit out by the 23rd minute as he shelled perfect through balls into him and he smashed every one of them in. Completely unstoppable. Think I'm currently 4 for 10 after an absolutely dreadful start. Bought that future star cutrone guy, looks that wee bit better than IF Belotti. If he's shit, I expect his value will only rise once he's out of packs.

Fair enough, I expect plenty of das would be up in arms, but I expect more would see it as hilarious up here than if it happened, say, in the Manchester Derby

I haven't visited this particular forum for a well, so most of the outside-Scotland stuff comes from SI's/FM's Football Forum. With a few exceptions, and the best will in the world, it seems to be full of people who'll spend the summer with a knotted hanky on their heads muttering about where they can get a good fry-up. I'm sure you get the picture. So I wanted to come here and see what the general consensus was on this stuff. I always expect the media to be quite split, but mostly erring on the side of "spirit of the game". The other forum seems to be very much along those lines, debating about the core of whether it's cheating or not. I am delighted to see that everyone here, unless I'm missing someone, sees this as largely harmless, and mostly a great fucking laugh. It really shows just how sanitised and boring English football has become when this becomes a big issue. Would we even bat an eyelid over something like this up here? Christ, lighten up a bit.

Only problem with Baresi is that he is only 5 foot 9 I've found headers to be entirely random anyway. If you're going to get beaten in the air, you're going to get beaten in the air. I'll have Maldini and Campbell either side of him (or may put one of those in the middle) so should be protected enough. If not he can be recycled into another SBC at some point.

Think Cole as worst announcer is harsh too. He's shite, but he's not even the worst in WWE. At least he's something, other than the vacuums they've put in the spot in other shows.

After buying Nesta, lovely to see they've put up an SBC for Baresi, currently (well, last night at least) going for about 450k. And he's better going by stats. Nesta sold, will do Baresi, and about 300k left to play with. Lovely stuff.

Are they just determined to release a core of 100 90+ rated cards to make sure that every single team ends up exactly the same? Ridiculous you're getting base 90+ rated cards for youth players just to try and claw in some more money for EA. Giggs is actually brilliant. Maybe just fits into how I want to play, but I've never had any player you can just early-FIFA-style sprint and not get caught up. Cutting in off the wing he's great. Will keep him around to see how he develops.

I'm not convinced that debilitating injury or even death is enough to keep Storey out of the team. Even if it's his. Not that my dislike of him has gotten to the point that I'm wishing that on him. Just...go, or something?

I'll probably end up completing it at some point, but instead I've splurged all of the coins I made from Maradona pretty much in one go. Did the Ibra SBC, sacrificing a few players in the club to complete one part, so think I got it for maybe about 120k? Not too bad. Then spent all but about 100k on Nesta and Giggs. I can't wait to see how badly I defend despite having an all icon back line, and indeed how bad Giggs is compared to James "Look at me, I've nae neck" Forrest.

Pack weights have definitely gotten better since TOTY ended. Of course you now don't get the (slim) chance of a TOTY card, but you're definitely getting better 83s/84s. Whether it's good enough to make it worthwhile I don't know.

Just a week or so after I cashed in a lot of premier league silvers and bronzes for cash as well. Baws. Will probably fire through a few of the more reasonable ones, pack weights seem to be paying out pretty well at the moment with 84s. Punted Maradona last night. Was really excited to try him with the stats, but he was utter guff. Despite being quick and agile on paper, he seemed so clumsy and awkward. Put 2IF Forrest back in and it's night and day. The cash-in lets me justify getting Ibra, and I'll have plenty left over for SBCs. Got my eye on base Ryan Giggs too to try and boost Ibra's chemistry.
