  1. Not the start he or the Dodgers would have been hoping for or expecting.
  2. I'd agree with that entire post - although I'm too young to remember the Apollo. Would add that I really like SWG3 as well. Seen some great shows in the Galvanizers and TV Studio in there. Really like Broadcast and Audio as well for smaller gigs, and the entire Garage building is brilliant.
  3. The Gaslight Anthem- Even Cowgirls Get the Blues
  4. Matt Copely and Taylor Louderman - You're the One That I Want
  5. Not sure about that signing either. Could be a long season.
  6. The Gaslight Anthem at the O2 Academy in Glasgow tonight. Really good career spanning set. The new songs already sounding great live and the old favourites as good as ever. Support from Emily Wolfe who was technically very gifted but failed to really capture my interest.
  7. Saints have signed Nathan Peterman for some reason. Also signed receivers Stanley Morgan and Cedric Wilson Jr. To say I'm underwhelmed by the Saints Free Agency would be fair. The cap mess finally taking it's toll by the looks of it. Not good when Atlanta have strengthened considerably and Tampa still look solid.
  8. Williams seems to be a bit of a loose cannon and seems to have his absolutely mental dad in his ear as well, which never goes well. A talent for sure, but can see him becoming another Manziel.
  9. Saw Buffy ReVamped at the Theatre Royal tonight. A one man show portraying Spike taking a humorous look at all seven seasons of Buffy in 70 minutes. Really really funny. Well worth going to see.
  10. Got a wee takeaway for the hotel. Wagon Wheel inspired sour from Vault City. Delightful.
  11. Justin Fields off to Pittsburgh foe a 2025 6th round pick that could become a 4th depending on playing time.
  12. In Brewdog Leeds because it is 2 minutes away from the hotel and on the way back from The Key Club. Got Brewdog's Simcoe Solo, which is a pretty nice IPA
  13. An absolute all timer. The Movielife doing Forty Hour Train Back to Penn in full followed by a bunch of older classics. I had that album on repeat for most of 2003 and it holds up as one of my all time favourites. An absolute treat to see it played live in its entirety. Vinnie is one of punk's greatest frontmen. Crime in Stereo in support who were absolutely brilliant. They promised to come to Glasgow next time, and I hope they come good on that. Opened by Family Dinner who were very good, but unfortunately the vocals were far too low in the mix. Fantastic night. Well worth the four hour drive.
  14. And a delightful Pineapple and Coconut Lassi Sour from North and Bundoblast. Very impressed with this pub.
  15. Embargo. A collaboration between local boys Kirkstall and California's Sierra Nevada. Big fan, lovely West Coast style pale ale.
  16. North Taproom in Leeds. Very busy but a nice shop. Transmission IPA, lovely.
  17. Just about to head to Leeds to see The Movielife do Forty Hour Train Back to Penn in full for it's 21st Anniversary. Cannot wait, not seen them live since 2003. Then got The Gaslight Anthem in Glasgow on Monday. Great looking few days
  18. Just listened to Kim Gordon's new solo album The Collective. Like nothing I've ever heard before. Brilliant to hear her still on the cutting edge at 70.
  19. The House Of Doors by Tan Twan Eng Really good story, well written and engaging. Historical fiction with some real life events woven through. Really well constructed.
  20. Any pub recommendations for Leeds City centre for after The Movielife gig on Saturday?
