Mmm no, if you actually rewind things back before your first league game at Cappielow, I think you'll find that you were in fact pretty happy between the likes of Jamie Murphy who you added to the squad, as well as the multiple non-league players from England, at least one of which was naturally going to deliver like 'Dipo'. Optimism is nothing to be embarrassed about - it's the point of following a football club - but to claim it never happened now that things have gone sour doesn't cut it.

And that's before you topped up your luxury sand-dancer stockpile with Logan Chalmers too.

So how is it credible then for Ayr fans to criticise the club for *not spending money* to avoid your current predicament?

Your club and owner has spent money. It has just done so in a relatively incompetent manner.

    Word salad

To be fair you half did. Setting aside your swaggering admittance to your club stealing money from the public purse to finance your lofty status and overly large stadium to enable old firm fans to watch their heroes (to be honest I’ve fair enjoyed so many of them watching you beat them), your previous post omitted the fact that your clubs stewards voted to un-die a dead club that had died a death through dying. How much is the Ayrshire Cup worth these days when submitting it as an asset on your accounts? My club may not have the lofty position, the Lego stadium or be in ‘possession’ of the Ayrshire cup but I’m happy and confident in the historical moral compass of my club.

This also shows where the club is at now, clubs like Raith and Morton are getting 2-3K home fans at games and we are around the 1500 mark…Surely that sends a message…

Doubt there was more than 150 QP fans at Raith…So that’s 3350 home fans

Probably say there was 600 Partick fans at Morton and that’s 2.8K home fans right there. Morton aren’t even doing much better than us and the fans are 100times happier with the way the clubs run.

Raith are where we were in 2018. A strong squad and good signings early galvanising club and support, followed with good results early in the season builds a feel good factor and a togetherness.
    Morton fans are just delusional.

You didn't clocked the parade of puffing mess, 'luxury players' your club has tried to build an attacking unit around this season - and that most of you were frothing over back in August? Not to mention the wider financial reality that the Akinyemi money is likely only making ends meet in your speculate to accumulate 'business model' in the first place.

There are many valid reasons for Ayr fans to slate their club's stewardship right now, but 'not spunking enough money on the first team squad, 2023-24' is not one of them.

The excess was spent on signing 3 midfielders after 2 were injured against Morton and one fucked off.

I would like to see evidence, and be specific, of frothing over the signing of Akeem Rose, Franny Amartey and especially Aidan McGeady.

The club went on record to say they planned an operating loss as a result of the work carried out on the pitch. With any transfer revenue going towards the shortfall. The second place finish paid for that and the Dipo money was put towards the playing staff.

  5. Someone should tweet MacBookie for odds on what will happen this week at Ayr

    New 4th kit launched

Pictures of the new stand posted

A new special edition kit launched

    Another Ecrepont leaves the club

    New training wear is launched

An interview with someone who played one game for Ayr

A new goalkeeper kit is launched

a new initiative to offer half season tickets at zero mark down

    Any meaningful activity whatsoever.

the last surely has the longest odds

There are still headcases on SRE and the worldwide page going out of their way to suggest they are the best fans in the worlds because they are fully behind Bullen, and anyone who isn't is completely irrational. To the point I saw a post yesterday suggesting people are being knee jerk "demanding instant results" and don't understand how football works.

As I have posted before, all the relegations I have seen have been because we have been skint and unable to compete.
With the budget and players we have, the least we should expect is below average.

We have been way below that for most of this season and it bit hard over the last quarter.

I’m not a fan of hounding folk on social media, Smith and Mathie both have good intentions and in Mathies case is trying to do a job regardless of how misguided it seems.

Smith may be looking at things from a business standpoint, the club made a profit last year, the kit sales and I’m assuming the associated revenue is up and crowd numbers have been maintained. The playing side is operating within its budget and we haven’t been relegated. There isn’t much to get angry about apart from turning up and watching us getting beat or draw every week.

But, at every other club in Scotland, Bullen would have been out the door months ago. They are either playing the long game, aware that Bullen is the right man for the job or they are deluded.
Smith sacked Kerr who was Cameron’s man, Mathie sacked Duffy who was Smiths man….will Mathie hold his hands up to a f**k up?

I'm quickly losing patience with Mathie as well now. If he doesn't have the baws to sack bullen over the next 2 days then he can gtf too. He's overseen the clusterf*ck so needs to own it and take action

I’d settle for action from the club in any way, shape or form. An indication that the club has at least realised that we are ankle deep in shit and sinking fast and I don’t think we are there yet.

One win in 11 games sounds better than shite for 18 months and we have seen on here the stages of realisation that we are not very good.

Imagine if the likes of Wattoo and some of the others that have defended the club to the hilt until recently would have been if they were actually picking up a wage based on their input to the club?

Some form of action, bringing players in, a new coach, something that shows that we are trying to make positive changes. Bullen is the number one target but there could be more done to improve the situation up to the point of flat out sacking him.
