  1. Should be 2-0. Brian Graham has been mostly excellent for us, but he loves missing a sitter every so often. We’ve looked good on the break, Inverness haven’t threatened too much - good save from Sneddon on the header but not had a lot other than that.
  2. Is the steam working for anyone yet? And just as I post that, it starts up.
  3. Smith in from the start, presumably Akinola out to right back and Mayo and Holt in the centre. McKenna on the bench as well.
  4. Tough question. Probably Richard Claridge, the boy who came through at Boca in Gibraltar and I brought with me to about 5 other teams. Guram Devadze, Kari Arge and Gil are up there as well.
  5. Hot on the heels of my Nations League win. Not quite as comprehensive as I'd have liked, but we had about 5 goals disallowed too. Abelmann padded his goals record a bit, which is nice for him, but other than that it was a bit pointless. I enjoyed it though.
  6. 2065 Nations League Finals My first chance at some silverware with Germany, although it's the Nations League, and I'd quite like to win. Taking part are ourselves, Spain, England and Belgium. We're playing Spain in the semi.
  7. Not in England or Scotland, I don’t think. There’s other countries where the transfer window is still open which I think would be fine though.
  8. May 2065 Final day of the season, they seemed to score every time they attacked and we were already on our holidays. Oh well, it really doesn't matter. It does mean that we've finished 11th. Time to build for next season.
  9. This also amused me. Turns out that Aberdeen have been in the second tier for 13 seasons now without me noticing.
  10. April 2065 Another two solid results. We were a bit lucky with the draw against Mondorf, but absolutely deserved the win in the second game. Ruben Ferreira has turned out to be a very reliable goal scorer for me. Has nine for the season, but six of those are since I turned up. And he's only 16. Quite pleased. And with that, we're officially staying up this season. Also, as an aside, it turns out that like 20% of Luxembourg are from Portugal. Don't know how I didn't know that since I've been before, but aye. Looked it up because I got my youth intake, and half of them are called things like Cédric Morais or Tiago Eduardo.
  11. Don’t think we need another striker. Realistically, anyone we could get now won’t be better than Graham or Rudden, so would be third/fourth choice. Anyone happy to do that will be shite. Our squad is already relatively large, so f**k knows what wages we’ll still have to offer too. We’d likely just change system a bit and play Smith/Turner centrally with Hastie and Tiffoney wide if one of our Rudden or Graham get injured.
  12. March 2065 Four from six in the league, and a penalty shootout loss against one of the countries best sides in the cup semi final. Could have been worse, could have been better. I'll take it. That has moved us four points clear of relegation troubles, which is lovely. We should be ok this season. Germany A pretty decent start to our qualifying campaign. Should have scored more, especially against the Faroes, but oh well. We'll qualify no bother regardless. Russia have had a shocker, losing to Israel as well.
  13. February 2065 My first game in charge was the cup quarter final, which was a complete shitfest of a match but then we got two goals in about 20 seconds to secure the game, and send us through to the semi finals. Mixed month in the league, 2 very decent results against sides near the top of the table, but then we fucked it against one of the relegation threatened teams. I'll take that though, a positive start especially given how the season has panned out so far for Hesperange. Five games to go, and we're level on points with the team in the playoff spot but sitting comfortably ahead on goal difference. I would be happy if we finished here, and then I can build for next season.
  14. In all fairness, I would be prepared to bet a fair amount that if Patterson was on the books of any of those clubs, he’d be playing fairly regularly - certainly he’d have a lot more than the 5 games he has played. I like SOD, I think he gets a lot of unfair criticism, and also some extremely fair criticism. I think that @AJF is right that we’re almost nearing the end of his shelf life as Scotland’s first choice right back, but I think he’ll be around the squad for a while yet as an experienced head to call on if needed.
  15. Was it him who signed that Spanish/Portuguese boy who turned up, was shite, spat at a youth player in a reserve game and got released?
  16. Eh? Any managers CV will look better if you exclude the jobs they’ve fucked up.
  17. I really hope it’s Hughes. Him insisting on McGinty and Baird trying to play out from the back could be one of the funniest things this division has seen in a while.
  18. Just for what it’s worth, head to head obviously isn’t the only criteria by which you can measure which team is better than another. We finished ahead of Israel in both Nations League groups we shared with them, and are currently ahead of them in this qualification group too. We’re a better team than Israel are, but not by that much.
  19. I would assume that he was holding out for a better deal than we’re offering but it hasn’t materialised yet, so it’s maybe him keeping his options open. If he does well enough for us to get one in January, then fair enough.
  20. Adams is who I was meaning, but I’d also argue that Dykes would get a game. Israel seem to be a side who are set up to score lots, but in doing so they also concede lots while we’re the exact opposite which may go some way to explaining it. This is shown by them scoring 14 while conceding 11, we’ve scored 9 while only conceding 5. Same story in the nations league, they scored and conceded 7, we scored 5 and conceded 4. Like I say, I don’t think he’s a bad player and obviously his goal scoring record internationally is excellent, but he’s absolutely not ‘light years’ ahead of any of our options.
  21. Not taking anything away from him, but the vast majority of his career has been spent in Israel or China, so possibly (definitely) not the highest standard. And I’m pretty certain that we have strikers who could get a game for PSV. He’s a good player, and obviously a good goal scorer but light years ahead? I don’t think so.
  22. Meet the Team 4 stars is a leading player for the BGL Ligue, 3 stars is good player for same Pretty poor. Bernard is a good enough player, but there's absolutely no depth whatsoever. Will need to try and get something in there as an improvement for this. That's better, although I could do with a left winger since Bernard will be playing up front But basically pretty good. Fairly weak, but not dreadful. Improvement required but not massively urgent, I don't think. Attention needed right across the back line. Lima is fine at right back, and I can put out an acceptable defence I suppose, but it's clearly the weakest area of my team, and probably the main reason why we're doing so poorly. And Weiss is quite good, so I'm pleased with that.
